Hotel Saratoga

Havana, Cuba

The hotel

In the thick of it all, this historic Havana hotel sits mere metres from The Capitol building, with incredible views over its much-photographed dome from the rooftop’s pool, cocktail, and dining terrace. It’s not just the location that draws crowds to Hotel Saratoga (although, being just 200m from Gran Teatro de la Habana and the Partagas Cigar Factory, and 2km from the Malecón, its address is a big bonus), the hotel also entices with the traditional touches in its rooms, the seductive décor of its Anacaona restaurant, the grandeur of social spaces like Bar Mezzanine, and the bay and city views from its rooftop terrace.

I was visitng Havana August 2019 on a very hot day. Experienced some street food but to get out of the heat. I went to the Saratoga resaurant for a nice Capuccino in the ariconditioning. It was fantastic so I had another but when I paid the bill it was 4.50 each CUC..lol. Next time I will do my due dilligence and find places to go before the trip.

Stayed because my guidebook spoke highly of it. My feedback is that the facility is beautiful and the rooftop is great. The problem is the service. The doorman was sporadic and the poolside service was spotty. Breakfast was fantastic. The bar had no mint for mojitos, which are the most standard drink in Havana! Would not stay there again.

My friend and myself would like to say an massive thank you to Dayan Castro who was absolutely amazing during our stay. He is the friendliest, nicest waiter we have ever met. His customer service skills were superb. Thank you Dayan and your team to made our Cuban trip so memorable. I’m quite sure we will be back soon. Keep up the good work. 🙃

I went the last weekend with a friend and we really liked the atmosphere in the Mezzanine Bar with the music and songs that made us remember old times. We appreciated the change and the new atmosphere, the attention of the very attentive salesmen and we enjoyed first class cocktails.
