Hotel Saratoga

Havana, Cuba

The hotel

In the thick of it all, this historic Havana hotel sits mere metres from The Capitol building, with incredible views over its much-photographed dome from the rooftop’s pool, cocktail, and dining terrace. It’s not just the location that draws crowds to Hotel Saratoga (although, being just 200m from Gran Teatro de la Habana and the Partagas Cigar Factory, and 2km from the Malecón, its address is a big bonus), the hotel also entices with the traditional touches in its rooms, the seductive décor of its Anacaona restaurant, the grandeur of social spaces like Bar Mezzanine, and the bay and city views from its rooftop terrace.

Stayed here for a few nights in Havana and we thought it was great. It is well located, just up from Parque Central, with a colonial feel to it, spacious room, very comfortable bed, good bar, rooftop pool and friendly service. The only downside was the breakfast which was very average but I’ve covered that in a separate review so won’t let it… Read more

Stayed here for a few nights in Havana and loved it. Everything about the visit was great - room, roof top pool and bar AND great service from everyone. Plus, it wouldn’t be Cuba if I didn’t mention the cocktails

The location is great, with the old city on walking distance. The hotel delivers a true 5* experience, with large rooms, confy beds, great breakfast, and friendly helpful staff. Add to that that the hotel has a rooftop swimming pool and bar with an amazing sunset view, and beautiful mezzanine bar that could be used in any movie. One of the best… Read more

The breakfast items did not vary during the whole week but the quality was good The pool area was being renovated during our stay although it didn’t affect us too much The Junior suite was large enough for 2 adults and a teen, as was the bathroom The only down side was the hot water pressure/ flow taking 20 minutes to fill the bath. Overall it is a very good hotel and the room was very quiet once the shutters were closed. Read less
