We have been to this resort several times when it was Dreams. Now that it is Hilton owned, there are various parts that have been upgraded such as the rooms, pools and the restaurants(the ones we were able to actually go to since, due to the renovations, only two were open to serve either Italian, Seafood, French, or Mediterranean cuisines each evening. The buffet was always an option. The Asian restaurant, which is located next to the buffet, was one of our favorites! We had the best Hibachi experience there; this is a must try! The one thing that has not changed is the entertainment. Although the entertainment team try very hard to entertain the guests, this is a part that needs to be updated or even revamped to represent Hilton quality. I feel that Piccaso is overrated and has lost that drive he had many years ago. The Hilton Dollars(funny money) that are given for participating in activities in order to partake in auctions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, are inconsistently given to guests and the amount given per activity varies depending on who in the entertainment team is running that event. Picasso barely had “money” and asked that you attend another event where he would give it to you; that was hit or miss to. We did notice that they engaged more with “favorite” guests and in fact, awarded them more “money” for those activities they participated in. We saw that they were awarded money even if they didn’t participate! The team needs a supervisor to make sure these activities are monitored and properly run so all guests are treated equally. There were many days where listed activities were not even available and were on the schedule to fill up times! Additionally, it is in poor taste that some of these entertainment team members fraternized with some of the guests and drank concealed alcoholic beverages. These situations left me with a bad impression of a resort that has the ability to be a 5 star resort yet has some staff that take away from it. Our favorite night shows were from outside companies: The Circus and Michael Jackson. I feel that the service staff are the least acknowledged and they work so hard! Remarkable people that made our vacation memorable and enjoyable were: Edwin Cedano(beach bar), Emelia(beach server), Bienvenido(he was our server and our friend) and Jorge in Buffet, ), Carmen Constanza and Altagracia (our maids) and Angelina(pregnant entertainment team member… she has so much energy and love for her job), One recommendation to the resort is to have music always playing throughout the resort especially at the beach where loud construction could be heard. Also, after dinner drinks, like Bailey’s, should never be out of stick in the evenings! I am hoping that once the renovation is complete, this resort will be Hilton quality! Read less

Where to start?, well the hotel was being refurbished when we stayed, and so only the adult side was open (there is a family only side to the hotel as well), so my views only reflect the adult side of it. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the staff could not do enough for us, and were always very welcoming and friendly, with great service. The rooms are modern, colorful and "funky" (not sure how else to describe them) with lots of bright color, a big comfortable bed, huge flat screen TV, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and a walk in shower. The main pools are "infinity" pools and one has a swim-up bar, great to sit there with a drink and watch the sun go down (equally great to sit on the beach and watch that as well). The restaurants were all good, that we tried. The "hot plate show" at Sakura Asian restaurant was a lot of fun, and Junior (our chef) and Jonathan (our waiter) were funny and kept us supplied with amazing food and drinks. The buffet restaurant was open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and was open late-ish for all three, so no rushing to be in by 9.30am, or 2.30pm, etc. The food was always good and always plenty of choice, including Sushi at lunchtimes. The bars were great, the main lobby bar (with sports of TV screens), the beach bars, pool bars and late night bar (nightclub) all had great service, either at the bar or with waiter/waitress service. Lovely beach, warm sea, the usual aerobics/aqua aerobics, hobby cats, kayaks, as you would expect. Great (and funny) entertainment staff. But most of all, the staff here are fantastic and a real asset to Hilton Hotels and the Hilton brand. Very friendly, warm and welcoming from arriving to leaving to go home (we didn't want to leave!). I tried to take note of the name badges and remember as many as I could, so here goes (apologies to anyone I don't mention, but there are a lot of you and you are all great!); Lobby bar, Jorge, Richard and the crew Beach and pool bars, Alexander Hernandez (great cocktails!), Wendy Michel, Emilia, Edwin, Isabel Rodriguez (always smiling). Sakura Asian Restaurant, Junior and Jonathan. Caoba Buffet Restaurant, Carlos Rodriguez (always smiling and singing!), Eduardo King (another happy, smiling face at all times) Freddy Feliz, and Henry Avila. There were so many more who made this such a wonderful trip. If you are thinking of taking a vacation to the Dominican Republic, make sure this resort is at the top of your list. Read less

Benny( Bienvenido) in the buffet and Pablo Celetino both are amazing guys and both went above and beyond! Beds are comfy but pillows are horrible. Disappointing to see hardly anyone tipping the staff the time I spent there, can’t believe how cheap some people are. Resort is beautiful, clean! I love the fact there is no one bugging you on the beach to buy stuff. I will definitely be back! Read less
