What we thought was an upgrade to our accommodation by moving to this hotel was actually a disaster and it wasted our trip. The rooms were dirty and it appeared the housekeeping was not getting done. The rooms do have a large gap at the bottom of the main door thus lets mosquitos in and also daylight (used a towel to block this gap). Day 3 I reported this and the lack of housekeeping to guest services who didn’t appear to be interested. After a fashion and some 10 hours later a senior manager was involved and she was certainly not interested in what we had to say either, nor keen to move us to a different room even after presenting photo evidence that the room was substandard from a hygiene point of view. After telling us repeatedly that there wasn’t another room - we were then told we had been ‘upgraded’, which was the very same room type but the upgrade was: upgraded minibar spirits and toiletries, this we declined. At 11pm we were offered a family suite in a completely different block and the manager had housekeeping clean it again before we got to it. However, when we arrived the manager asked us to check the room - and sadly it was dirty as well. The AC unit was black with dirt and mould, the bed had a hair in it, the bed covers had yellow stains, the glass shelving was so dirty I could write a message in the dirt. Not dust, a months worth of dirt! Accepted reluctantly due to the time and on the basis of speaking to the manager again the next day. Service recovery was 2 spa treatments for inconvenience. Bearing in mind resort credit covered spa treatments anyway minus the tax, so it was an easy fix. The next morning we noticed ants in the sleeping area, on the beds and on the floor. I woke up with what appeared to be mosquito bites on my body and legs. The manager did call the next morning to follow up and I invited her to the room to show her the unpleasantries and she asked for a copy of the pictures via WhatsApp. The hotel had several pools, but there was one pool that was quite lively and not to forget it’s a resort geared around kids and families so expect a lot of kids. I expected it to be more fun and lively for 20-30 year olds and a lot more music orientated, but it really wasn’t. The evening entertainment was so poor that we didn’t stay up past 1030 as the only bar inside the complex was small and overrun with teenagers who appeared to be drunk. The nightclub that’s built in to the hotel was only open 2 nights that week, and it costs $$ even for a residents at the hotel, and it’s not cheap. The food was great at the side restaurants, especially the steakhouse: Torro. The buffet was lame and nothing changed on it each day. The Italian restaurant was a far cry from Italian and I sent food back. Because it’s all inclusive doesn’t mean food quality and service can’t be challenged. I have been to better hotels in Punta Cana, like the Barcelo Bavaro Beach (adults only) - it was miles ahead compared to the monstrosity of the Hard Rock Hotel, Punta Cana. It’s no surprise that I wouldn’t recommend this hotel nor would I return and I feel that it was overpriced for what it was. I’d also be reluctant to visit other HR hotels for the fear of the same experience. In the end the hotel did a service recovery but it was too little too late as my trip was wasted by this hotel. There were multiple lines and no one directed us to which line. Over an hour later, we got checked in. I was asked for my credit card so the could put a hold in it. The hold was never taken off; I had to wait for it to go away 30 days after I checked out. The pool area was also crazy! People would hold chairs all day and never show up. The food was average at best. A few of the servers were good, but most were not. One at the steak restaurant was horrible. We rented a golf cart since my daughter’s friend was injured (it happened the day before the trip). We were told we’d get a discount-we did not receive it at checkout. Checkout also took a long time. I tried to get my discount but the front desk person couldn’t help. I was with the person for over 30 minutes. The guest next to me was also charged for things they should have received for free because they sat through the time share; although they don’t call it a timeshare. Find somewhere else to go! We will never go back. Read less

Although I had some issues with the rooms it will solved right away by the amazing team. Ana Cardoso made sure I had a great time. Very good food, El Toro is a must do if you go to Hard Rock. I would advise to offer Cocobongo as part of the tours.

We stayed at HRPC for the first time in August 2019. After reading tons of bad media about the D.R. and all inclusives in the area we were skeptical but hopeful. HRPC did not disappoint! Upon arrival we were greeted at the door of our ground transportation from the airport by a hotel representative who helped us to check in while the bell hops handled our luggage. We then made our dinner reservations with Veronica who was extremely helpful and informative and able to answer most of our questions. Upon completion of planning our week, our bell hop (David) drove all 8 of us with our luggage around the resort for a quick tour and then to our room. He showed us around the room and asked if we would like anything brought for the mini fridge that was already stocked with water, soda and beer. I asked for a bottle of wine, some more beer and a bottle of champagne as my wife and I were also celebrating our 14th anniversary. All of our requests were met within minutes. We had asked for our daughters room to be decorated for her birthday and the hotel staff did an excellent job decorating with balloons and some cake for her and her friends. We booked two excursions (Dolphin Discovery and Monkey Land). We had the time of our lives!! We are at Zen, Ciao 2 times and Toro for dinner, Ipanema 2 times for breakfast, and Pizzeto 2 times. The coffee shop (Must) was awesome! I played laser tag with my 11 yo son, my 16 yo daughter and her three friends. It was a ten minute round. By the end we were all laughing and couldn’t stop talking about how much fun it was. We also tried Escapeology. We had never done an escape room before. Unfortunately we ran out of our alotted 60 min time limit before we had escaped but we all vowed to try another escape room when we returned home because it was tons of fun. There are so many pools around the property, we had one very close to our building which we referred to as our secret pool. It was quite had a swim up bar and served food. Can’t ask for much more!! The beach was pleasant despite reading some reviews stating that people we accosted by locals trying to sell you things. The were some “vendors” not affiliated with the resort offering to sell cigars, sunglasses, jewelry, photo ops with birds and iguanas and one was offering parasailing and other excursions. We politely said no thank you and they continued on there way. No need to be worried whatsoever. We rented 2 Bali beds with coolers also. 5 star trip!! Read less

Be aware: long post but tried to post a few pics and videos 😀 we came to HRPC Aug 13th until today (Aug 18th) It was what we expected and more!! I don’t even know where to start. 7B was an awesome building to be in, short walks to everything we needed. Room was clean and we always had what we needed. Even though we decorated our daughters room, they also surprised her and decorated!! We ate and drank everything! Kids loved the swim up bars (favorite drinks: virgin banana Daquari, Virgin tequila sunrise was called a sweet sunset, and virgin strawberry daquari to name a few) We were at party of 8, 2 adults 3 16 year old girls 1 15 year old girl and 2 boys ages 8 and 11. Favorite breakfast was Ipanema, we also loved room service , Zen was amazing - great atmosphere and food. Toro was really good service wise and good. Pizetto was amazing we went twice as well as Ciao - we went twice !! (Zen) brought our daughter a whole cake to share and sang happy birthday - they even let one of the girls be a chef for a bit. We did the dolphin encounter and monkeyland excursions which we all loved!! Educational and fun!! Pools and beach were beyond amazing. Everyone was very friendly and we tipped everyone we could. Kids loved Kareoke in moon lounge and they hung out there after each night. The girls used the gym in the morning and loved it too!! There is so much entertainment, they went to the Michael Jackson show last night and said it was awesome! Kids pool and slides were fun as well. Food at the pools was very good too. We really enjoyed this trip and are so happy we didn’t cancel. We felt safe everywhere and as always , just like when you are at home you have to be aware and safe!! Everyone wanted to stay another day but we are ready to. Our only complaint is the airport process which we can deal with after an amazing week!! I was lucky with this group of kids/ very respectful and appreciative of the different cultures ect. Lots of laughs and memories this week !! I am a lucky mom and my daughter is lucky to have amazing friends !! Read less
