Waves is an additional name to this hotel, so for our 4th visit we looked for "additional" features to enjoy. One item of note was that dinner reservations were only needed for Samurai (Japanese) restaurant -- yay! We went to Olivetti (Italian) or Uncle Tony's (Smokehouse) at 6pm and got a table, no reservations and no waiting. All of the food is delicious at this hotel, due to Chef Joserra and his staff. We enjoyed the themed buffet nights (Mexican, Jamaican, British, Gala, etc.), but breakfast was probably our favorite with fresh juices, fruit, yogurt, pastries, omelet station, and more. (I did miss banana bread -- so perhaps add it to the buffet for our next visit?) The ice cream shop had my favorite, rum raisin (open 3-10pm), and the lobby bar made a delicious passion fruit daiquiri! It's nice to have old favorites but also try something new. (If you like pizza, try the jerk chicken pizza at lunch! Or step outside and walk down toward the beach to the new Jerk Hut.) The staff is so friendly here, starting with the bellmen (Shane, Damon, Nikko, Ricardo), security (Angela), front desk, guest services, lobby bar, buffet hostesses/servers (Livingston, Kimberly, Loris), housekeeping, and management/staff (Presley, Angelie, Sherian). We appreciated your service, directly and also behind the scenes. Thank you for all of the improvements/renovations recently done and those almost finished! (Note: Our room no longer had a bathtub like last year, but a walk-in shower. Also, the doors and furniture had been updated.) Little things do make a big difference, like a friendly smile and "how may I help you?" At Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach we experienced this hospitality! Read less

Where do we start. Check-in was late. We didn’t get our room till 6 o’clock (even the friends we met here had the same problem) We stayed in room 2411 which was probably the worst room to date I’ve been in. For one the hot water doesn’t work after 3am (fyi for all you late night ppl) beds are hard ( but had ours switched out when requested) during half of our stay whenever we put the shower on LITERALLY brown water was coming out for about 2-3 minutes. Never in my life I’ve ever experienced this type of water. Rooms didn’t get cleaned half of the time. But besides those bad things about the room. They were accommodating. The bed was hard they came in with a new softer one.. we had a light issue they fixed it right away. Our phone wasn’t working they came and changed it as well. For the most part they are accommodating. Food: now I’ve been cooking since I was 8 I’m 36 now. I consider myself to be well rounded around the kitchen I do like boujie food. Just to give you a little background on my opinion. Everyone has different taste so keep that in mind. First things first they have the best water I’ve had anywhere at any resort. Because they went “green” they have water stations everywhere around the resort and the water is CRISP COOL AND DELICIOUS. My wife is a water snob and she had no problem drinking from them. So good move on that. Was surprisingly really good. Everything in the buffet was good. I come from a Caribbean background and this was the best place I’ve had food besides Sandals Ochi. Jerk chicken hut on the beach was amazing everyday we didn’t miss it. Italian was not bad. The Japanese tapanyaki was exactly what it is everywhere else. It’s just an experience the food is w/e. Now the resort itself is vary unorganized from paperwork to being charged for things that were already payed. We had a medical emergency and our party needed up paying for a medical report that was never given to them. They don’t really mention what themed parties they’re having. It’s like a broken telephone when it comes to communication. For the life of me I don’t understand why we can’t give food to the staff we payed for. They have to get it signed off… I think management at iberostar caters to Spanish people and tbh I won’t stay again at an Iberostar. We had a tapanyaki table and because our table loved shrimp we wanted more and i noticed “management” came around to watch the portions he was giving us because they’re so anal about money. Iberostar and all these Spanish owned resorts need to pay their workers way more… $1.75-$2.00 an hour is a joke. And then they watch their staff like a Hawk.. BARE NONSENCE. No wonder the general Staffs attitude is down. People will hardly tip and they make the staff depend on the tips which people will hardly give. I mean 300-400 dollars a month is a joke. Case in point while our party was here royaltpn negril went on strike and good they did so. I hope IBEROSTAR SMARTENS UP. And put some more love and equality into their staff. Not the Spanish ones but the people That come here with a smile on for just 1-2 dollars an hour. Entertainment: really good Miguel and string bean and the others apart of the team were LIVE!! I needed up winning a bottle of rum in basketball. Best music I’ve heard at a resort by far! Needed improvements : Fans in the buffet area.. everywhere makes no sense to sweat while you eat it’s stupid. Fans should be everywhere theirs seating period. No if ands or buts. I think Iberostar is more for a show type resort surface level. Also they don’t have ash trays and this a green resort so NO STRAWS!! CLEAN UP THE BEACH SAND!!! We had bad scheduling three days in a row for a free catamaran cruise ( but nothing is for free) we had to do a 1.5 hr presentation that honestly is the biggest ripoff I’ve ever seen. PLEASE GOD DO NOT FALL FOR IT. I mean if you’re a millionaire why would want to be stuck with one hotel chain. I would never especially after what I’ve experienced at this chain. STAY AWAY. No matter how low they drop the price mine went from 129K option to 2260 with a payed flight. Forget it if you want club level just book it when you stay for the extra cost don’t mind their bs. FYI I don’t need Iberostar staff to reply to this cause it won’t make a difference in my opinion and you’re not going to do anything to rectify the issues anyways. I iberostar is only about their money and that’s it. Good food and music tho can’t complain on that part. But people of Jamaica 1 Love. It’s my fourth time here and won’t be my last (only last for Iberostar) Read less

The buffet restaurant needs to have 2 separate lines, one for multiple seating and the other for 1 or 2 seated person. Read less

We ended being upgraded to the Suites property, due to renovations being done at Waves (formerly beach). I would reccomend this hotel for family, friends and couples. The staff is friendly and the grounds are beautiful. You will get a mixture of authentic Jamaican food and your typical resort foods. There are different themed nights and of course Jamaica night (on Saturday) is the best!. From snappers to festival, curry goat and every and everything you could ask for. The only thing I would say is to call the food the name that it is and not make up names like "red on top" for grater cake. Also brown stew chicken is not called chicken stew, please keep our authentic food names. The jerk chicken and pork by the beach was spot on everytime. This was my 2nd visit and I would definitely visit a 3rd time. Read less
