Round Hill

Montego Bay, Jamaica

The hotel

Undoubtedly one of the most sought after hotels in the Caribbean, Round Hill has been a long-standing Jamaican icon since its opening in 1953. A former pineapple plantation on the outskirts of Montego Bay, what is it about Round Hill that makes it such a magnet? Round Hill is where Jacqueline and JFK spent their honeymoon, where Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote the Sound of Music, where Hitchcock got sunburned and where Noel Coward, if egged on enough, would sing for the guests. After 50 years, Round Hill has a million stories to tell. Today, this elegant beachfront resort offers the same blend of qualities that has always pulled the famous names and faces; namely a well-preserved slice of old Jamaica and tremendous hospitality. You still enjoy the plantation’s stylish architecture and a predictably colonial pace of life, but with the added pull of an oceanfront spa, an exceptional family program and refurbished hotel rooms designed for beach living by Ralph Lauren, (perhaps whilst visiting his own villa at Round Hill). The ocean side restaurant perfectly blends the hotel’s historic pedigree with its new energy, classic décor with an open kitchen and wood-fired grill.

The best in-villa breakfast and we chose our Villa ONLY because we wanted Angela & Donna’s hospitality. We got married here in 2013 and we return every year to celebrate and each time our experience gets better. We feel like we belong there..lol. This year we brought our 7years old son and utilized the kids pineapple house. My son didn’t want to leave each time - he was learning and having so much fun. What else can we say, Round Hill is the best place to vacation in the world! We have booked our 2020 stay already. Experience it for yourself! Chris & Lisa Read less

This is truly a wonderful resort; both intimate and elegant. The staff goes out of their way at every turn to ensure guests' comfort. The villas are gorgeous. We stayed in a a separate guest house associated with cottage 21. Beautifully appointed and decorated. Highly recommended.

Was here for a wedding as a guest. It was apparent that there was a lot of chaos behind the scenes. The hotel ran out of food for the rehearsal dinner and we had to go eat at the restaurant afterwards. Then it happened again at the wedding cocktail reception. All the while, we saw staff sneaking out beers wrapped in towels. The parents of the bride and groom had to miss portions of the events because they were working behind the scenes trying to get the resort management to fix things like the food, seating and lighting. It all seemed very unprofessional and poorly organized for a resort that is supposedly so customer service centric. I really felt bad for the parents. Then when we went to check out, our bill was wrong and we had been over charged for meals we didn’t order. They really made a poor impression on any of us that would have considered going back for a vacation. Read less
