We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and were greeted with a nice glass of pineapple juice. we were escorted to Room 24 on the beachside which is the upstairs unit closest to the office. Nice room with two double beds and an outside balcony overlooking the courtyard. The room has a working safe and powerfull air conditioner. Only amenity n room was a bar of soap but we brought our own shampoos and such. No complaint with the room. We walked the beach in both directions everyday looking at all of the resorts along the way. A really enjoyable walk once you learn to say "no thank you." to the hard working vendors along the way. The rest of the time was spent swimming in the ocean or laying under a shady tree listening to music and relaxing. We used the pool once on the garden side and it was a nice size and very clean. The food was good and you could not go hungry here. Attended the Welcome Back Dinner for returning guests and met some nice people from all over the USA, Canada, and Europe. Donated to the Sandals foundation and received a small bottle with shells and sand in it. Every group was given a liter of Jamaican rum. Ate off site three times to support the local economy and used route taxis in front of the resort to get there and back. The entertainment was good, the employees nice and friendly, and security was very attentive. Would return again, Read less

Myself and friends have travelled here many times over the years and we have booked a year in advance before. We request particular rooms that we enjoy and you'd think that it would be a consideration when arriving but no, the same old "there is an issue with the room for maintenance", Every year? Really? As we are booked a year in advance with a room request and are staying 23 days you'd think that it would be a No-brainer but for me, several years in a row, yes, I said years, there is always a supposed reason not to have a requested room. First come first serve, sure, but to give the room to people who profess to be travel consultants? To hold it open for your favorite guest, shame! I flat out out made my points clear and moved after 1 night into the room requested.. The girl at the desk seems to be contemptous towards travelers but somehow still manages to stay employed. It was a delight to see Marvette, Jacqueline, Rochelle, Amanda, Jazmine, Ruthann, Jose, and others. Getting to hang out on the beach and chat with fellow TA and FB boardies was great as well as seeing Courtney and Moses. They did run out of beer and both coke and diet coke but we survived on rum, The returning guest dinner was wonderful and we did miss Daniella . People were sick with coughs and colds . Room service was overall, a joke, with maids showing up at 5:30 and 6:30 in the evening to do rooms. Chatter on the beach was ever present about some of the issues. Twice some one with a passkey opened my door while I was napping...happy that I had the chain on. The chef did a marvelous job feeding us all and seemd to llive onsite. Wendy smiled dispite having her job and covering for Daniella. She truly cares about the GP! We have booked for next fall again. This is where my Canadian friends and I met 10 or so years ago so we reunite annually here on the island whether it be GP or on the other side of the island. Enjoyed the trip despite the check in duel and can't wait to come back Oh, and finally, secuirty seems to screen "some" locals from speaking to guests while others, not. Complete strangers walk right up the beach and through to the front. Read less

I would definitely return to this small, 60 room resort with an awesome beach. Rooms very tight but adequate. Food was better than expected for Jamaica, not much variety. Drinks were not well made. Bartenders efficient but not friendly. Security was great, very friendly and helpful and I suggest checking in with them every day because they know whats going on. Front desk is clueless. Did not honor our reservation of 2 double rooms. Also, read in prior reviews of that happening to others. Traveling with one couple and 3 adults required 4 beds. They insisted they only had 1 double room and 1 king room. After an hour of waiting for them to try to accommodate what we booked we had no choice but to take the two rooms offered until the next night (so they say). When we got to the two rooms they both had 2 doubles as we booked. Front desk is totally clueless. Everything after that was better than expected. Had a great 5 days and fun and sun. Read less

I really enjoyed my time staying at the Grand Pineapple Beach Negril. This is the first time ive stayed at a smaller resort i typically stay at Riu's and i just found the week to be very laid back and relaxing. The staff at Grand Pineapple were exceptional and helped out with any questions or needs I found even if it wasn't their particular job they were still eager to help. Some names i remember were Marvette and Orane at the bar as well as Earl however all the staff made the week a great time. The food was very good, typically on vacation I find myself leaving the resort for dinner as the food is bland however they did have some more local food with actual flavor at the buffet so i found myself sticking around at the resort for dinner more often than usual. The only cons i would have is the bar isnt open until 11 am and there is not a fridge in the room and if you do want one stocked you need to pay 60$ US (this im not used to in all inclusive). This was not really a partying resort if that is what your looking for it was more of a laid back time. The beach and ocean in front of the hotel was also amazing. We booked 3 tours through the resort with tour guide "Sandra" I would highly recommend booking with her she taught us alot about Jamaica and answered any questions we had on the way. I also have to give a shout out to the guys Dr Fab, Trent and Mike at the "Arthur's beach" Restaurant next door as well. I learned alot about Jamaica talking to those guys and also had some great local food (Although somewhat pricey). I would definitely return to this resort again Read less
