Our family of four just spent 8 nights at Moon Palace Sunrise and we really had the time of our lives. The service here is the best we have had out of several all-inclusive resorts we have tried. The employees seem genuinely happy to be here. I believe this resort and its Palace Foundation does a better job than most of supporting its staff and it really shows. I had dinner last night with my youngest son at the Pier 8 Seafood restaurant and met the loveliest waiter, Javier Cuautle. He's is such a kind soul and deserves to be recognized for his wonderful service and positive energy. We had great conversation with Ivan at Momo restaurant and he was incredibly helpful navigating the menu and our allergies. Alejandra at the vacation planning desk was wonderful to us and helped us plan the perfect day trip to Isla Mujeres. Thank you so much, we had the BEST DAY ever! Ernesto the dancing ice cream man is a real treasure and a must visit for everyone staying here! He is so much fun!! Look for him near the pools in the afternoons. Be sure to note the employees who stand out to you and make your trip even better We have learned that they benefit from these mentions through an incentivized program that has many perks and benefits - it really makes a difference for your stay and in their careers. Cheers Moon Palace, you'll be seeing us again! Read less

Beds so comfortable, food was good, service was great. Dancing chef was the best. The trip planners were not great. First excursion was amazing, booked a second one being told it would include everything that it did not. They refused to help and we had a 12 hour day with one small snack, hours left on an island when told only 2 hours and one meal… Read more

Visited during Spring Break and Holy Week and didn’t know what to expect bc resort was booked solid. OK, yes, we had to get up early to reserve chairs at the pool (which is usually the bane of my existence but I didn’t mind bc mornings were beautiful - perfect temp and quiet) and restaurant reservations bw 5:30-8:30 weren’t easy to come by, but it was the resort’s second busiest week of the year and we knew that coming in. What made the trip great 1) the staff was friendly, helpful, and patient; 2) the buffet style restaurants and room service meant our group of 30-ish parents didn’t have to worry about feeding our 60-ish 18-year-olds on their senior spring break; 3) The kids were always on property which was awesome bc it allowed us to relax knowing they weren’t at some random club in Cancun at 2 a.m. Some of the people that helped made our trip great: Jesus at the Mexican restaurant breakfast buffet in Sunrise always greeted us with a great smile and attitude and made amazing omelettes. We called him El Rey of the Omelettes and ate breakfast there almost every day Carmina, also at the restaurant buffet, made us wonderful veggie fajitas at lunchtime Aaron in Public Relations - We forgot to pack an Rx we needed, so Aaron facilitated an appointment with the resort doctor and delivery of the Rx to the resort which was so convenient Dr. Mendoza - Amazing resource to have on property. Helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and able to help us obtain our Rx quickly. People at the Gold Course spa including Margarita in the water spa who helped me practice my Spanish, and Beatrice who was very kind and provided an amazing massage! Ice cream/coffee counter in Sunrise lobby - Hector and his co-workers provided service with a smile and were kind to everyone (even the impatient guests) during an incredibly busy week. Cookies and regular coffee were always available for anyone who didn’t want to wait. Valeria, our waitress at the Italian restaurant in the Grand was very sweet and did a wonderful job taking care of our party of 8 celebrating a birthday on a busy evening. Housekeeping (room 1819 and 1821 in Luna) did an amazing job keeping our rooms spotless every day Front desk and check-in/check-out people including Sandra and others, who helped us change rooms to a building closer to our group Waiters including Diego, Cornelio, and Arnulfo Silvia and Fernando at checkout Vacation planners like Silvia who was friendly and appropriately persistent Shuttle and bus drivers to and from golf course and other buildings Room service delivery team Bartenders at the pool and lobby bars The bell staff who directed dozens of hurried guests to their busses and transfers to the airport in an organized manner Read less

This is what you will get at Moon Palace Cancun. Pushy salespeople, loud rooms, and okay buffet food were the negatives. The positives were the restaurants that required a reservation, the people, and the pools. No fighting for chairs at this resort. Sargassum was constantly cleaned off the beach. Some people have said the rooms are dated and dirty. The only "dirt" I saw was on the lampshades that you can't exactly clean. The room didn't feel particularly dated to us. The jetted tub and in room liquor dispensers were very nice to have. We got a deal off Costco that was better than the deal offered to us at the end if we wanted to sign up. The person actually seemed shocked at how low the price was that we paid. We don't really have interest in signing up for a future room though, just because we won't be back for three or more years. The rooms are noisy because there is not really insulation between the rooms and the hallways. You get drunken people and screaming kids in the hallways and can even hear when chairs are being dragged around in the other room. I brought a white noise generator and that helped a lot. The people who work here are wonderful. They're so nice and friendly and thoughtful. Best part of the resort. Also, just know this resort is massive. Golf carts carry you from place to place on a route or you can walk 20 minutes from one end of the resort to the other. I found this out right before going but it was kinda nice to ride a golf cart around. If you stay in the golf villas, you apparently get your own cart since the villas are out of the way. Read less
