The staff are tremendous and take pride in providing the best experience possible for,all guests. The rooms are quite lovely and very clean. Our room faced the sea and the view was spectacular. We really appreciated that this hotel doesn’t allow people to put towels or belongings on pool chaises before 7 a.m. and even better...there’s lots of chairs to go around. We highly recommend this hotel and will most definitely be back. Read less

Just returned from our second visit to Now Sapphire, first time being 2 yeas ago. Then we visited as a couple but enjoyed it so much decided to return with our grown up children. It did not disappoint and we had thoroughly enjoyable 10 Days. We enjoyed the preferred club as we did last visit and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay at the hotel. Rooms were spotless, food good and staff exceedingly friendly. Special mention to Felix who remembered our names and brought us drinks throughout our days on the beach. He was very attentive and friendly. Yes the seaweed issue does seem to have got worse than when we travelled there last but the staff work endlessly to try and keep it clear and the sea is lovely and warm. You just need to be brave enough to wade through the amount at the shoreline and then once in the sea it is fairly clear of the seaweed. We enjoyed spending some days on the beach and in the preferred adults only pool when not out on excursions exploring the beautiful country. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to go to Mexico. Read less

The resort itself was beautiful, food was very good, staff friendly and the room very nice. Make sure you ASK for the top shelf alcohol. Cheap Caribbean failed to tell me when I booked last minute that there was a seaweed problem, which apparently had been going on for quite some time. When I called back after I reserved a few days before we left I was told there was some seaweed and they were working very hard to clean it up. I expected seaweed in the usual blue water, but the water was murky and smelled like rotten eggs.. We went for the clear blue ocean...if I wanted to spend my week in a pool would have stayed home in my own beautiful back yard!!! This was my fiance's first time to the Caribbean and what a disappointment!! Also be very careful with the excursions. I booked a cenote dive w/ my 2 teenage sons and we ended up in a cave!! I have been a certified diver for over 35 years and have been diving in Mexico numerous times over the decades. Cenotes and caves are two COMPLETLY differnt forms of diving and to take 2 relatively new divers to a cave, dark with flash lights, small tight spaces, only one way in and out, very cold was a huge danger to my kids. We, of course, refused the second dive. Amstar refused to refund our money and insisted they took us to a cenote!!! The resort was no help nor was cheap carribbean...still fighting with them about the condition of the water since they lied to be about the beach and their website show beautiful blue beaches!!!. The best service we got was from the following people at the following places Market Cafe (buffet)- Mardo, Luis and Julio: always smiling, remembered who you were by name, made you want to come back just to see them! Ask for them by name!! Splash (pool bar) - Francisco: very kind, made sure you were not waiting long, even when busy! Paramour (French restaurant): Miguel was fantastic! We went back multiple times and asked for him by name! Very sweet and kind, always smiling, even brought us a special treat on our last day! Cibu (Italian): Alfredo was so attentive and upbeat! Really went above and beyond to make your experience even better! Lobby Bar: Sandra and Martha were terrific! Never forgot your order and fast service! The entertainment team did an excellent job! Especially Katherine and Johnathan! They were so energetic and friendly! Really made you feel welcome! Carlos at the concierge was also great! Always a smiling face, making your stay better! The fire show, circus show and Maltese the guitar player were our favourite nightly entertainment!! The workers cleaning up the seaweed on the beach did an amazing job! Bring them a bottle of water on your way back to your beach chair from the bar - they deserve it! Read less
