My husband and I stayed at Now Sapphire Riviera for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. We have stayed at Now Jade Riviera and the Sapphire is very similar but feels larger. The staff at this resort are amazing! They bent over backwards to make sure that we were happy and had everything we needed. The entertainment staff also had activities throughout the day such as beach volleyball which kept my husband entertained. The lobby area is spacious and lots of people gather there to have drinks and listen to live music at night. The beach bar was also great for drinks during the day. We thought the food was good, especially at the French restaurant Paramour. We had to wait a couple of times for dinner at peak times(7-8 pm) but it didn’t bother us because we could get drinks and peanuts at the lobby bar to hold us over. As other people mentioned, there is seaweed on the beach but the resort crew sweeps it away throughout the day so it was not problematic for us. Minor cons: The pool was great, however it was difficult to get chairs around the pool because people save them with towels early in the morning. To get decent chairs with shade, we had to wake up around 7:30-8 am to save chairs for ourselves. There is supposedly a rule that chairs cannot be left unattended for over 30 minutes, but it was not enforced. When we would come out to save our chairs in the morning, we would see one family member saving over 10 chairs for their other family members. It seems like this would be less of a problem if they limited how many towels you could get at one time? Also we were there over spring break, and there were large groups of high school seniors there with their parents. At times it got pretty noisy by the main pool, but we were able to escape the noise when we wanted to by going to the beach. Overall it was a great trip and we would definitely recommend it! Now Sapphire Rivera Cancun All Inclusive Me and my girlfriend stayed at Now Sapphire Rivera Cancun (all inclusive) in Puerto Morelos, Cancún, for 1 night on March/2019. The hotel is generally very good and has great facilities with many restaurants and nice pools. The pool area is wonderful and the atmosphere felt very relaxing and fun. But they overbook the place and don't provide enough pool-beds; we were there at 8:00am and all the beds were taken or saved already. The people working in the hotel gives you a great service, except of the beach bar and waiters in the pool area; they take 1 hour to deliver your drink, and if you go to order directly in the beach-bar they get angry and tell you that you should wait for your waiter instead 🤷🏼‍♀ One thing that the hotel is missing is a jacuzzi with hot water which would improve my impression of the hotel. The beach area is average and nothing special. If you really like white sand beaches and transparent water you should choose another option in Zona Hotelera instead. One nice detail we loved was the chess table under shade, which we enjoyed a lot. Very good idea to have chess table in an all inclusive. My girlfriend had to wait for 30 minutes standing in a line in order to book the Japanese tepanyaki restaurant, which pissed her off a lot. She was almost exploding with anger when she returned without an appointment after all the waiting. That experience didn’t feel like a 4 star all inclusive hotel. Here you really need to step up your game and increase the service level. One thing we liked was the Elvis Presley show in the night. It was fantastic!!! Generally a good all inclusive but you cannot campare it to Secrets The Vine or other more luxurious alternatives. Read less

As soon as you arrive, your bags are taken by the bellboys and you are offered a nice, cool, facecloth to wipe your face. You are then directed to the front desk where you check in and are given a blue-coloured (sapphire) drink and they tell you, "Welcome Home." At this point you will be taken to your room, but if you've arrive early in the morning, you room will not likely be ready quite yet (as was in my case this time - we arrived to the resort at 9am) so if you like you can use one of their hospitality rooms to change clothing and then proceed about your day. Our room was ready by noon, even though check-in is not until 3pm. The rooms themselves are lovely. I find the beds and the pillows comfortable. There is a little sitting area with a couch and coffee table, and all rooms as far as I know have some sort of balcony. If you get a tropical view, you will most likely be looking into some palm trees, or if you get an ocean-view, of course you will be looking at the ocean. Air conditioning works well. At first when I got there this time I was thinking the rooms were a little humid, but it wasn't until I checked the thermostat a little closer and found it wasn't actually set on air-con, just the fan. Rooms are very clean. You get housekeeping in the morning/early afternoon and a turndown service sometime after 5pm. We get an oceanview room and one of my favourite parts is the jetted tub. I fill it with bubble bath and sip on some champagne or a coronita before I get ready for dinner. The beaches are clean and well-kept. The sand is lovely - smooth and white. The water is that Carribbean blue/turquoise. The only issue that seems to pop up is there seems to be a large buildup of seaweed every time we are there. Resort staff work tirelessly to scoop it up into wheelbarrows and haul it somewhere to the edge of the resort. This particular visit, though, there was a lot on our first day or two, but by the end of the 10 day trip it was much contained. Could have something with the barriers it looks like they have put in place since the last time I was there. I am assuming they were just put in recently as they did bring more of the tubing out and were working on it one day while we were there. The ocean is still swimmable and people still do spend lots of time out there as it is lovely and you can be served drinks by staff until 5pm. I prefer to spend my days at the pool. Here, the entertainment staff keeps you busy with options to participate in Zumba, water aerobics, volleyball or basketball in the pool, or water polo. Don't forget the crazy game every day at 3pm where the team gathers folks to compete in games such as relays, musical chairs, name that tune, pushup competition, throw the frisbee through the target, etc. If you are lounging by the pool you are served drinks as you sit, my favourite servers at the pool this year were Jose and Allan. They introduced themselves to us and had smiles all day long and they were quick to bring us what we asked for. I spent a lot of time at the splash bar with Francisco, Pedro, Wilberth, Jesus, and Refugio. Oh, the fun we had! We had them making us all kinds of good shots and drinks (my go-to drink became the blackberry daiquiri). Sometimes I would turn around and my almost empty drink was replaced with a new one without me asking. They are very efficient, super entertaining and very friendly. I really think they made my vacation this year. After the crazy game my travel partner and I would usually leave the pool area and head down to the Sand Bar at the beach where we would be served by bartenders Antonio and Cesar. It is lovely to sit on the swings and feel the breeze off the ocean on your hot skin, while sipping on a well-made cocktail of your choice. This is also where we would have our daily shot of tequila (vitamin T, as I like to call it). After that, we return to the room to shower for dinner. Now Sapphire has 5 places you can choose to eat for dinner. I love it because you do not have to make reservations for anything (except if you wish to do the hibachi, then you need to have reservations), unlike other resorts where you have to get up early and wait in line and try to pick 3 places and nights where you want to eat there. Here, you can do what you want, when you want (you may have to wait a little while, but they give you a buzzer which you can take with you to the lobby bar so you can visit and have cocktails or watch the show as you wait). The food is wonderful. I love sushi from the Lemongrass, lobster bisque from Paramour, mushroom soup from Cibu, and the chowder from Bluewater grill. The rest of the food is great, too. Normally I'm not a soup person, but for some reason I always choose their soup as part of my meal at this resort. The buffet has different themes each night too. One night will be Italian, Asian, or Mexican, etc. They also have a small kids selection with things that kids like to eat like grilled cheese, chicken fingers, or pasta. Lots to choose from. You won't go hungry. Another thing I enjoyed is that when you walk up to request a table and often again when you place your order, they ask you if you have any food allergies. After dinner you are free to enjoy the show. They have a different one every night in the theatre. They also have live music before and after in the lobby most nights. I like the way this is done as everything is centred around the open-air (covered) lobby. It's a central hub where you can easily find and meet people and nothing is too far away. I usually perch myself at the end of the bar and watch Carlos, Maurice, and Roberto mix drinks with effortless efficiency. After all is said and done, I usually see Carmen in the Coco Cafe for something sweet or a late night snack. Oh goodness she is a darling. I always look forward to seeing her when I come back. Things to improve upon. This list is quite petty and short: 1. I really missed having smoked salmon at the breakfast buffet. I looked forward to having it for a month prior to visiting as we don't get good smoked salmon where I live. I went to the buffet multiple times and was disappointed it was unavailable. However, I still found plenty of good things to eat so I did not go without. 2. That is all. I really enjoy this place. It's not too big, not too small. It's just right. Everyone is well trained and they really do try to provide you with the best experience. I spoke to multiple people this year who have visited before, and they feel the same that I do. If you have that many people returning, you have to be doing something right. Thank you to everyone at the Resort for making this yet another unforgettable experience!!! This is a well run, efficient resort, that has an energetic and attentive staff. Food is good quality and tasty. It is also fun and relaxed and the entertainment constant. Suggestions: if you can afford it, get the preferred package overlooking the beach. At breakfast at ‘Market’ ask for the MARDO & LUIS section and this dynamic duo will begin your day with energetic, fun attentiveness. Forget mosquito spray as I never saw any. Walk about at night; this is an very safe environment. TIPS ARE NOT NEEDED! But, if you can afford it, and anyone going here can, tip generously as the unfailingly friendly, hard working staff of locals from Cancun will appreciate it. (the wages in Quintana Roo are atrocious) Learn but a few, very basic words and numbers in Spanish; it’s easy and fun & both you and they get a kick out of your efforts. There are always picayune points to vent but few here. Your money and time are well spent here. Read less
