I am giving this stay a three star review. So to begin with I use Cheep Caribbean deal of fortune. They are fine and the deal is solid. Only issue was they sent me a confirmation, 7 days before the trip to silversands. Apparently they must have been unaware the resort was closed. No problem 5 days prior they corrected the booking to this resort. I was given an ocean view room which was fine. My room did not smell and the a.c. Worked to cool the room. I liked the room, staff cleaned it every morning early. The mini fridge was filled everyday. My room was turned down every night. The resort it self is a little dated. Repairs are constant by the staff. It rained brief my once during our stay, I did not notice any leaks. There was evidence that the resort had previous leaks. The resort amenities are very similar to other master resorts. The lobby bar was good and staff were very good refilling your drinks. If your still with me on this review this is the part why I will never visit this resort again. SECURITY my wife and were out with our friends. The resort on several nights will have entertainment pool side. We met this incredible couple from London, former law enforcement. We decided to go into the sports bar for a drink and continue the good time. My wife and the gentleman from London stopped to get drinks. A guest either walked up or fell off his bar stool. He immediately went after my wife verbally attacking her stating that she tripped him, to the point that our new friend moved my wife behind him, which have her a chance to retest to the room. I soon noticed that she was absent from the bar, a brief search turned up nothing. I found her in the room very upset about the incident. After getting the facts I went directly to the front desk to get security so we could find this guy and deal with the situation. Staff at the desk got on the phone and said they talked to security. They would review the cctv cameras and get back to me. I asked directly if security wanted to come out with me they declined. With the resort deciding they would not like to continue I went back to the room. I met my wife who had composed herself in the way back. She wanted to confront the drink guy. With resort security non existent we went back to the bar. Within minutes my wife spots this guy. Goes out to the smoking area and gives the guy the same treatment. He immediately apologize for the earlier treatment. Just before leaving he stumbles back ward and falls again into a small table destroying it. With apologized accepted we helped him up and returned to our room. I'm still waiting on security to contact me. Hmmmm The restaurants were ok. They were limited from our last experience with amstar resorts. We did do the hibachi grill experience. This is the one restaurant that needs a reservation. We have experienced this show at several other resorts. I would give them 2 stars for this experience. The food was good. Check out was normal, except for the fact I was not given the survey to fillout upon checkout. Guess they didn't want my opinion. Thanks for staying for the full review. I hope it somewhat helps you make a better decision when booking. I read a lot of the three star reviews and agreed with them. I also reviewed 5 star reviews and agreed with several of those. Booked this hotel looking for a smaller venue with great service and boy was i not disappointed. The service was exceptional and the smaller ~200 room hotel was exactly as expected. Other reviews have mentioned the place is not new and shows some signs of age but as far we were concerned the place was very clean and well maintained. The food is on par with what is to be expected from a proper 5* resort with a decent variety if you account for the restaurants but we're not talking Michelin stars here. The buffet had a good breakfast and lunch but we found it lacking when it came to dinner options. Alcohol has a great selection with pretty much anything anyone can think of available. The room was clean with a well stocked minibar. We opted for a beachfront room and were literally 20ft away from the beach. The private patio and hammock were well appreciated. Room service and concierge services being included is a nice surprise. Beach was cleaned daily and had few alga but nothing bad. It is not the nicest beach in the world but decent enough for what it is. The location was private enough that very few people come over to annoy you. It was a great experience overall. The only negative for me is the noise level of the some of the guests; this hotel receives a lot of American tourists and some of them can be very loud which is quite disturbing. Read less

We have stayed at a few other resorts. This was our 5th time back to Capri. We will not waste time or money on any other resorts. The employees at Capri treat you like family. This was our 1st Secrets visit, but not our first experience with Amstar hotels as we were married at Dreams La Romana 5 years ago. We were looking for something that was adults-only and a smaller resort, not one that was located in the Hotel Zone, as it wasn’t our scene. Secrets Capri met all our checks! The food was amazing! I’ve been to MANY all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, Jamaica and other Caribbean areas. Hands down, Secrets Capri had some of the best food options of any all-inclusive I’ve ever been to. The Seaside Grill and Cactus Grill have great lunch options. Portofino’s has a great filet minion option (my husband went back a 2nd night just for the steak!). Himatsu has a teppanakyi table where you make reservations. The food had a nice Mexican twist to the traditional Hibachi feast. The basic wine selection (house wines) were passable. You could upgrade and get nicer selections, but the prices were outrageous. The drinks were hit and miss. The Desires Bar seemed to have bartenders who made the best drinks. The beers were limited to lighter type of beers (read no IPAs or lagers, which disappointed my husband) but it wasn’t a deal breaker. The service and staff were perfect amazing! They all did their best to make sure you had a great time. The Coco Cafe (24/7] staff always had a smile on their face and would be happy to talk with you if it was a slower night in the cafe. They had coffee, tea, latte selections with pastries, sandwiches and salads. The housekeeping staff were timely in making up and turning down our rooms and the beverage service made sure our fridge was always well stocked. If you have any problems with every your room, we found leaving a notes via using Google translate got our requests completed immediately, versus calling housekeeping, which never amounted to anything. Bathrobes and slippers are left on request. The beach was clean and the seaweed was minimal. The drink service staff by the beach and the pool were prompt and attentive. One piece of advice....bring your own plastic or metal straw. The resort will only provide you with a paper straw and only on request as they are very environmentally focused. Wish we had known that as drinking mudslides with a spoon didn’t really cut it LOL. The entertainment at night was better than we thought it would be (we always hold low expectations for this). There was a great Queen tribute band and Jersey Boys tribute group. The Newlywed Game wasn’t what you’d expect and kept us rolling in the aisles. The entertainment staff works really hard to keep the guests moving along, but they don’t pressure you to join in if you’re it’s not your thing. Overall, we had a great time and have decided we need to go back and extend our time there as 6 nights wasn’t enough for us. Next year! But for now Hasta Luego! Read less
