The resort itself was "fine", the cons were, Very musty smelling room, no drawers for clothes that dont need to be hung, and everyone saving their pool chair before 8 am, this was very frustrating. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating

Believe it or not we have been going back to the same resort for the past dozen years. I can hardly believe it myself...but after surveying our group (we were a party of 16 this year), everyone seems ready to return again in 2021. This Dreams is small compared to most places in Mexico. So it is easy to get around. I would say the biggest reason we return is the staff at this hotel. They treat us as very special guests and can not do enough to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. They are friendly and hard working. We have seen some of them each year when we return. They actually treat us more like family that you really like! Señor Juan Segura always has a warm greeting and smile to make our time special. The bartenders William and Marylu took exceptional care of us on the seventh floor. Jazmin and the entire concierge staff saw to it that anything we needed all we had to do was ask. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of the group. The weather was spectacular, each day sunny and warm. It is a vacation that is hard to beat. We enjoyed the food. Loved the breakfast each morning in the World Cafe. Julian, Jorge and Edgar made sure we had our cappuccino to start our day. We especially enjoyed Oceana this year. They put coconut shrimp back on the menu and that was a crowd pleaser for our group. Aremy, Juan, Jose and the waitstaff took great care of us and we enjoyed The Mexican Tenors, The Beetles Tribute Band, The Mexican Show and other great evenings eating out under the stars. We even had a full moon while we were there which was a special touch. On the beach we enjoyed Ruben, Dulce and Veronica. Moises was a great bartender over at the Barracuda. Another outstanding employee is Giovanni who heads the entertainment team. He is a man with unlimited, energy, personality and committed to making sure that all guests have a great time. Thanks for sharing those good times with us. There are many choices to make when you go to Mexico. There are places that are fancier, more expensive and lots newer. The beach is not huge but user friendly. The area surrounding the hotel is lovely and safe to walk around, it is great fun to see the dolphins, sea lions and manatees that reside in the village itself. Each year the hotel continues to make improvements on the physical plant. We have enjoyed yet another year at this wonderful resort and will look forward to returning again in the future. Read less

We were supposed to have a pool view room, I attached a photo of the view from that room. No pool in view just brush, trees and storage items. We requested a different room. We were supposed to have a pool view room, I attached a photo of the view from that room. No pool in view just brush, trees and storage items. We requested a different room. They said we would receive a VIP room, we thought that would be nice. Not at all. I attached photos of the (VIP) room. The room was literally falling apart. When we checked the bed there was something on the sheets, some type of stain, I attached photos of that as well. The resort is extremely tiny already, so when there really isn't anything to do on the complex it is disheartening to hear and see banging and drilling all throughout the day. Unable to relax at all. Also any place you looked there was maintenance materials everywhere so it wasn't even scenic, attached photos of this as well. There is only 4 or 5 restaurants on site and that would have been fine if they were open. However, they only had two restaurants open in the evening and the buffet was the same theme most of the nights we were there and the food was less than appealing at best and cold. There was a wedding while we were there and they were so disappointed they left and took all they're guests to a different resort! On the upside the employees were great. I have traveled to many resorts throughout Mexico and various countries and this was the worst. I attached pictures so individuals such as myself that really rely on reviews, could see what I am describing versus someone just ranting. I believe this resort is getting by based off of the (Dreams) name. I would like to visit a dreams property again but I am hard-pressed after this encounter. Please be diligent in your research and do not stay here, you will be very disappointed. Regards Read less

Jazmin continued to include my entire family in group activities all throughout our stay. She was very polite and easy to talk to. From beach volleyball to Zumba Jazmin was there to include everyone. I highly recommend Puerto Aventuras for your next vacation!

We recently returned from our 16th stay at Dreams Puerto Aventuras (DrePA), and this was the best visit yet. I had planned a surprise birthday dinner for my husband and son, and the preparations exceeded my expectations. Besides an incredible dinner, there was also a pinata on the beach. And because my birthday was only several days later, the management and staff surprised me with a celebration as well! All of this fun was coordinated by Jazmin Suastegui, the Chief Concierge, who did not miss a detail. She was assisted by Luis Pichardo, the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, who spent many hours at the resort on both days to ensure food and drink at the birthday dinners was perfect. We love this resort and continue to return for just this reason: the employees care about the quality of each guest's vacation and they routinely go above and beyond to make the experience exceptional. We first visited DrePA when our son was seven and our daughter was six. It was the perfect location for families with young children: awesome kids' Explorer's Club; manageable size beach; small, safe hotel; selection of food that caters to children; a surrounding community for walks and bike rides; and close to Mexican cultural spots important for our children to learn about. And now, at ages 19 and 20, DrePA remains our chosen resort for many of the same reasons, but instead of riding bikes throughout the Puerto Aventuras community, our kids drive golf carts! DrePA maintains a culture that embodies "welcome home", "it's a pleasure" and "please come back soon". And when the staff say these things to the guests, they mean it. Some of our dearest and favorite friendships are with those who have, or continue, to work at DrePA. Time to plan for our 17th! Read less
