Nisbet Plantation Beach Club

Nevis, St Kitts and Nevis

The hotel

Sometimes it’s the story behind a setting that makes a place special. Sometimes it’s the setting itself. At Nisbet Plantation Beach Club, it’s both. It gives you the rare chance to stay in a historic area on a Caribbean beach (a spot where Horatio Nelson met his future wife, Fanny) – so you get all the bygone beauty of The Great House, with all the barefoot beauty of a sandy beach with hammocks for two. And, connecting the two, the stately Avenue of Palms sweeps down its 30 acres of lush gardens, which are dotted with 36 little cottages, leading you to treats like the 75 foot freshwater swimming pool, ocean-facing hot tub, The Palms Spa, the casual seaside dining and rum punch parties of its beach restaurants, and the fine dining and elegant afternoon teas of The Great House.

We visited their restaurants almost daily, several dinners at the hotel (including New Year's Eve), the Thursday bbq, enjoyed Coconuts for breakfast, and enjoyed their adjacent "guest" area on the beach in the afternoons while having lunch and drinks at the beach bar. Staff is friendly, food is good, vibe is amazing, beach is private and very swimmable. We look forward to staying at the hotel in the future! Read less

This is such a special place. The staff are lovely, the food is delicious, and the grounds are beautiful. My husband and I first came to Nisbet in May 2019 to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary. We liked it so much that we came back with my parents and brother between Christmas and New Years the same year. The reservations manager at the hotel helped to coordinate all of our dinner reservations and activities, meaning that everything was in place even before we arrived. The taxi driver that the resort uses — Calvin — is also the best. Thank you for another great stay! We can't wait until our next visit. Read less

A hotel where you arrive by speedboat is always going to get good marks from me. Each day we travelled around the island, learning more of its history. Our bungalow suite, close to the beach, was very well appointed and we enjoyed afternoon tea and dinner in the Great House each day. We loved the traditional furnishings, the links with Lord Nelson and Fanny Nisbet, the unspoilt beach and Avenue of Palms leading down to the sea. Please do not change - it is perfect as it is! We had a fabulous and relaxed week at the Nisbet plantation on Nevis. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us during our stay. They were proud of their island and willing to describe the places we should go for dinner on our nights out. Beach was small but beautifully formed with every amenity provided. Rooms were clean and spread out in fantastic grounds. Thursday night barbecue, first of the season, was a great deal of fun and full of dancing. Dinner at the Great House provided good food and great ambience. Breakfast, a treat. Truly a home from home. Read less
