Ocean Terrace Inn

St Kitts, St Kitts and Nevis

The hotel

It’s all about the island experience at Ocean Terrace Inn – a place where Friday nights are spent dancing to the sounds of steel drums and indulging in souse roast pork, salt fish and dumplings, and curry chicken at the weekly West Indies Buffet. But, this is the Caribbean, so doing absolutely nothing’s also on the table. The curvaceous lagoon pool’s the setting for most of your lazy days, with its waterfalls, swim-up bar, and palm trees completing the hotel’s tropical look. And lazy nights are best spent gazing out at Basseterre Bay and Nevis from The Verandah’s wraparound deck as you dine, or feasting on seafood grills at Fisherman’s Wharf, a restaurant set on a Caribbean Sea-skimming pier. If you do desire a bit of action, you’re just a hop from Basseterre and complimentary shuttle trip from white sandy beaches.

You will love OTI. The views are spectacular. The hotel is beautiful and clean. It's close to the cruise port and town. I just loved everything about it. The staff were friendly and always had a smile on their faces. The restaurant was good. We only went there once for breakfast. You should choose OTI on your next trip to St. Kitts.

We purchased a day pass at Ocean Terrace Inn for 12/25.--$38 went to Resort for a Day & the hotel received $100 of which we were to get $80 back in food and drink, included towel usage & WiFi. We asked 3 times for towels but received them. The first drink requested was a bloody mary. No tomato juice so not available. I did finally get a couple of drinks and my husband had 2 diet cokes. We ordered our food around 12:30 and it was just arriving at 1:45 when we had told them our taxi would be picking us up at 2. My husband had ordered a hamburger & received a chicken sandwich & they were out of ketchup for the fries. There was no time to send the chicken sandwich back so he had 10 minutes to eat. My salad arrived with NO ranch dressing. Response, we are out. So, I ate nothing & for the $80, we received 2 chairs, 2 drinks each, and 1 sandwich. Also, WiFi had a caution when trying to connect that it was possibly not safe so we could not use that. We were so excited about this day and were so disappointed in the way it turned out. It was Christmas Day & they were serving their guests a buffet lunch, but the hotel should not have allowed Resort for a Day to purchase day passes for us if they could not accommodate us. The one bright spot in our day was the Security Officer on duty & I regret I did not get his name. Our taxi did not show up at the appointed time, no fault of the hotel, & he was kind enough to give us a ride back to our ship. What an awesome man! Read less

Great Caribbean feel to the room. Loved the view from my balcony Staff very friendly and helpful. Loved the pool even though it was a bit cool while I was there. The breakfast were reasonably priced and the food was great with a Caribbean flavor to it. They could have had a few more choices on the dinner menu however.

Very quiet hotel and one of the downsides of this hotel is that it is not within walking distance of a beach however OTI do offer a shuttle bus service to and from the beach. Within walking distance of several restaurants. I would say that the people who did stay at this hotel were mainly business guests who were only there for 1 or 2 nights rather than tourists for a 2 week holiday. The staff were excellent especially Leonard, Eustance and Everett. Read less

Overall, this was a good vacation. The staff were friendly, the food was good, and great views of the harbor, the hills and the city. There are many steps to climb to and from your room and after eight days walking back and forth several times per day, it became a task.
