Ocean Terrace Inn

St Kitts, St Kitts and Nevis

The hotel

It’s all about the island experience at Ocean Terrace Inn – a place where Friday nights are spent dancing to the sounds of steel drums and indulging in souse roast pork, salt fish and dumplings, and curry chicken at the weekly West Indies Buffet. But, this is the Caribbean, so doing absolutely nothing’s also on the table. The curvaceous lagoon pool’s the setting for most of your lazy days, with its waterfalls, swim-up bar, and palm trees completing the hotel’s tropical look. And lazy nights are best spent gazing out at Basseterre Bay and Nevis from The Verandah’s wraparound deck as you dine, or feasting on seafood grills at Fisherman’s Wharf, a restaurant set on a Caribbean Sea-skimming pier. If you do desire a bit of action, you’re just a hop from Basseterre and complimentary shuttle trip from white sandy beaches.

Stayed here from March 14th - 15th 2019. The Room was in excellent condition and the view was absolutely lovely. The only downside is that the property is located on hill so lots of stairs. This might be a bit of a challenge if you're differently abled or travelling with small children.

We had one night in St Kitts before our weekly rental started in Nevis and found OTI on TripAdvisor. Great place to stay for a reasonable price. Close to downtown so you could take a nice walk. The service was very friendly and accommodating.

Spent 6 nights at OTI and it's a great place to see the island from - figuratively and practically!! Our group (30+ there for the cricket). I can't give it a bad review because so many things were lovely, but I can't give it a great one because there are annoying little things which could be improved - to make it brilliant! We had a fantastic welcome the meet and greet guys so friendly. But then check in was chaos which could have been prevented because they were expecting us! We were put in to a suite which was huge (& I feel a git for complaining about it but I'd written several times to request a room with a view because we were there to celebrate my partners birthday). We were moved into a new place after a couple of nights, to a smaller room but overlooking the port/bay. The front desk were really helpful! The pool area is beautiful with well maintained gardens. So if that's your thing it's perfect but if you are a sun worshiper then there's not enough space to sunbathe. Breakfast was ok. You do have to ask for everything a few times and there could be additional costs but all the food we had was good. There are other places to eat "next door" at Fisherman's Wharf, Serendipity and Palm Court. There's a courtesy bus to Frigate Bay but we also used taxis to try elsewhere too. Everywhere on the island is geared up for the cruise ships so it's all in US dollars. And that makes a lot of the beaches extra busy at certain times. In fact Palm Court next door is only open during the day because it's purely for the day trade for the ships - and guests from our hotel!! The food and service at Serendipity (next door) is amazing!! Especially helpful we’re Camicha, Marcus, Alicia, Michaela, and Armani—all wonderful ambassadors for St Kitts. The natural beauty of the property was amazing: views of the port and Nevis, palm trees and blossoming plants, and impeccably clean pools. If I were booking a honeymoon, this would be the place—peaceful, private and so beautiful. Well done, OTI !! Read less

We enjoyed our stay at the Ocean Terrace. The service was very good and the views were quite spectacular. The lagoon-style pool was also very nice. The on-site restaurants were pretty good, and there is a charming restaurant just a block or so away.
