Timothy Beach

St Kitts, St Kitts and Nevis

The hotel

If you’re going to laze on any beach in St Kitts, Frigate Bay’s Caribbean-washed shore is the one to pick – and Timothy Beach Resort is the only hotel to grace its golden sands. It’s not just the only hotel on South Frigate Bay Beach, it’s also plumped for the best spot on those sands, right by a natural snorkelling reef, rich in fishes, and a stroll from the Atlantic beach. Making the most of its beachside setting, most rooms have a sea view (although the lawn-facing rooms often get exciting views, thanks to visiting vervet monkeys). Life here is about simple relaxation, mainly played out on the sands or at the oceanfront pool – except on Sunday nights, when the resort buzzes with a Caribbean buffet at Sunset Café, and reggae bands playing by the water’s edge at Dock Bar.

Always excellent service and friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Children friendly too. Very good value. Can see good sunsets from here and the ‘green flash’ if you are lucky. Can also mix drinking with fishing off the pier.

Spent 10, very relaxing nights at the hotel, located in the corner of frigate bay, elevate pd views across the bay and the "strip", of bars and restaurants . We had a mountain view, which was to the rear, nothing but trees to see, but fir the time spent in the room it didn't bother us, the room was typical Caribbean accommodation, a/c was great, satellite tv, lovely big bed. The hotel grounds are well maintained, the pool is a floor above the beach so you get a view, whilst we there it was very quiet most days, he hotel provided loungers by the pool, under a gazebo by the beach and on the beach. We ate lunch a few times, wicked roti, reasonably priced, can be quite a wait at times though. The star of the show is the dock bar, right in the corner of the beach, happy hour mon-fri 5-6, bucket of 6 beers, $7US, be sure to get there by 6 or it's 2 bucks a beer, views of the sunset are the best, the barman is he best. The staff in reception and around the place are a real, asset, always happy to help. Taxi from the airport takes 10-15 mins, cost is fixed at $16US, they are plentiful so don't worry about your transfer either way. There is no bus service to the hotel, cab to town is $12, lsland tour by taxi, $60-80, the British fort is a must, the best one I've seen in the Caribbean. Supermarket is half a mile away Thanks for everything Timothy beach Martin and Sharon England Read less

Timothy Beach Resort is a great place to hang your hat during your stay in St. Kitts. Bring snorkel gear - a 100-yard swim from the beach puts you in coral reefs with beautiful fish and sea turtles. The restaurant is great, eating your meals with a beautiful view and a very relaxing atmosphere. The prices are reasonable and the service is wonderful - professional and friendly. The grounds are immaculate and beautiful. My main tip is if you tend to go to bed early, request a room with a mountain view that is farther from the beach as there is loud music from the beach-side restaurants nightly that can keep you up well past midnight if you're staying in a room near the beach with an ocean view. If you stay on the mountain side and farther down, it's very quiet. Read less

The staff are always friendly and welcoming and rooms are clean and comfy! The beachside bar and restaurant is a great spot for the end of day Happy Hour and to watch the sun go down! I noticed this time that sun lounge chairs had been replaced, a lot of updating maintenance done, and a spruced up sundeck all made for a better experience. Looking forward to my return later this year! Read less
