Timothy Beach

St Kitts, St Kitts and Nevis

The hotel

If you’re going to laze on any beach in St Kitts, Frigate Bay’s Caribbean-washed shore is the one to pick – and Timothy Beach Resort is the only hotel to grace its golden sands. It’s not just the only hotel on South Frigate Bay Beach, it’s also plumped for the best spot on those sands, right by a natural snorkelling reef, rich in fishes, and a stroll from the Atlantic beach. Making the most of its beachside setting, most rooms have a sea view (although the lawn-facing rooms often get exciting views, thanks to visiting vervet monkeys). Life here is about simple relaxation, mainly played out on the sands or at the oceanfront pool – except on Sunday nights, when the resort buzzes with a Caribbean buffet at Sunset Café, and reggae bands playing by the water’s edge at Dock Bar.

Timothy Beach resort is well situated with lovely views available in sea view rooms. The staff are very helpful and caring . In May though it is extremely hot and, although our balcony has a table and chairs and two sun loungers, there is no sun umbrella and none available when we enquired. Being a sea view room the full force of the sun was onto our balcony for most of the day and without shade we spent most of our day in our room with the Aircon on when not on trips. Even the sun beds by the pool had little shade. Other wise the hotel is great with excellent cleaners who changed towels every day. Also in May not all the restaurants on the strip opened every evening, restricting choice of where to eat. It is quite a walk for elderly people in the heat to the local supermarket and taxis are expensive. If shade was provided on the seaview rooms, we would return but probably not otherwise. The hotel is on a hillside and although ramps have been installed, some of them are very steep. Read less

We were here for a week for Ross University of Veterinary Medicine’s white coat ceremony and throughly enjoyed. Everything was very clean. The staff extremely friendly and nice. Helping in any way they could. I recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy the island atmosphere instead of bringing their country hotel with them. We will be back.

My room was spacious and inviting. There are several paths to take walks on and just enjoy the beauty of the island. The pool area is clean and was quiet the whole time I was there. I had a delicious breakfast from their café and also had lunch there with my son. They are just steps away from the ocean and what a gorgeous view of the sunset from up on the hill. I definitely recommend staying here! Read less
