Timothy Beach

St Kitts, St Kitts and Nevis

The hotel

If you’re going to laze on any beach in St Kitts, Frigate Bay’s Caribbean-washed shore is the one to pick – and Timothy Beach Resort is the only hotel to grace its golden sands. It’s not just the only hotel on South Frigate Bay Beach, it’s also plumped for the best spot on those sands, right by a natural snorkelling reef, rich in fishes, and a stroll from the Atlantic beach. Making the most of its beachside setting, most rooms have a sea view (although the lawn-facing rooms often get exciting views, thanks to visiting vervet monkeys). Life here is about simple relaxation, mainly played out on the sands or at the oceanfront pool – except on Sunday nights, when the resort buzzes with a Caribbean buffet at Sunset Café, and reggae bands playing by the water’s edge at Dock Bar.

I read and was told that people keep coming back year after and I'm sure Ms. Laurel at the front desk is part of the reason. She is kind and helpful. It was a pleasure meeting her. My room was okay. My issues with internet reliability, cable TV reception, flying insects, and a window that wouldn't close were addressed quickly and satisfactorily. There was a loud party at the pool one night that we were warned about, and when they were not able to get the pool area back in order the following day, we were offered free breakfast at the restaurant. The location is next to the popular Strip, with nightlife and eateries. The closest grocery store is about a 10-minute walk, and the town of Basseterre is about a 2-mile walk. Read less

Just coming to the end of a lovely two week holiday in St Kitts. Timothy Beach is a lovely hotel, well positioned at one end of Frigate Bay on the Caribbean side. Our room was a Mountain View, the cheapest rate room, and it was more than sufficient for our needs. The room had a small balcony, fridge and shower. Tap water on the island is drinkable. We stayed off peak and the whole hotel was very quiet, often having the pool area to ourselves. Safety deposit boxes are available in reception but are relatively small so ipads/tablets and other larger items won’t fit these. Staff are excellent, friendly and go out their way to help and assist. Hotel food is good, there is also plentiful supply of small bar grills along the “strip” that are great for lunch, dinner or a cocktail. The Mill is a great coffee shop for breakfast and can be found at the roundabout, and there is a small grocery store (Ram’s) a bit further along the road for any shopping. The Dock Bar is a fab place to sit and have a cocktail and watch the sunset, happy hour is 5-6 on weekdays. The sea right in front of the hotel is a great snorkelling area, if you take the steps by the dock you miss the stones, you’ll see plenty of unusual fish and if you’re lucky there are turtles and rays that occasionally visit. Plenty of monkeys, cats, and mongoose around too! Have loved this stay on this beautiful island and will definitely return one day! Read less

Stay in St. Kitts for 5 days then stay in Nevis for 9 days at a friends family home. Timothy Beach Resort is as seen on the tin in St Kitts. The room are nice and spacey, amenities are good, the pwople there are very very friendly and do anything for you all over both island. Toy can just step from you room to the beach as it's on the see front. Opposite is where they call the STRIP, where you can find music and lovley eateries, Try Patsy's for food. You are about 5 mins from airport due to the island being small. You are also about 15mins away from Basseterre town center, you will be able to get a taxi bus to town centre easily where you can see normal life also Port Zante and all the duty free shops due to all the cruise ships docking in Port Zante. You are also able to catch a Ferry or Speedboat over to Nevis and stay as long as you want as there are also beautiful places to stay and see like Oualie Beach which is the most beautiful beach of both island, also Sunshine beach bar & eatery is a nice visit. You can also drive around Nevis in about an hour or less , you will be able to see the free Donkeys & Monkeys. Nevis is very quite but St. Kitts is a very busy place. I went for the Music Festival which was great, over 15,000 people from all different countries visited st. Kitts. I would like to go back to St. Kitts to the carnival which is held at Xmas time. If you go between June-September, it is very hot so if you do not like alot of heat, don't go at time of the year. Give it a try, tou will love it. Read less
