Timothy Beach

St Kitts, St Kitts and Nevis

The hotel

If you’re going to laze on any beach in St Kitts, Frigate Bay’s Caribbean-washed shore is the one to pick – and Timothy Beach Resort is the only hotel to grace its golden sands. It’s not just the only hotel on South Frigate Bay Beach, it’s also plumped for the best spot on those sands, right by a natural snorkelling reef, rich in fishes, and a stroll from the Atlantic beach. Making the most of its beachside setting, most rooms have a sea view (although the lawn-facing rooms often get exciting views, thanks to visiting vervet monkeys). Life here is about simple relaxation, mainly played out on the sands or at the oceanfront pool – except on Sunday nights, when the resort buzzes with a Caribbean buffet at Sunset Café, and reggae bands playing by the water’s edge at Dock Bar.

Stayed here for 2 weeks in a mountain view room. Room was clean but basic with views of Timothy hill. Air conditioning was good and the bed was comfortable. Location at the end of the strip was good. Beach wasn't the best as a lot of stones at the edge of the water. Shade was provided by a plastic roof. Very hot. Beach seats have seen better… Read more

This was our first visit to the Island of St.Kitts. We were looking for something not to large. The Timothy Beach Resort was perfect for us. The entire staff here is awesome. They truly go out of their way to make your stay perfect. It is about 10 minutes from the airport. Alway a cab our front to drive you. The rooms are large and very clean.

We had a great time at Timothy Beach Hotel. It took less than 10 minutes to arrive from the airport. Staff were lovely and check in was easy. We stayed in a sea view room and the views were great. Taxis are always outside in the carpark area so it is easy to get a taxi into the town, the cost is $32ec. The beach area in front of the hotel is nice and sandy once you walk in a bit and we pretty much only used that area. The pool area was nice and clean. We ate at the restaurant a few times and what we had was always good especially the Island breakfast, Roti and Snapper dinner. We had cocktails at the Dock bar most nights and the pina colada is the best. This is definately our hotel of choice in the future. Read less

The best snorkeling of our trip was along the pier where we saw many fish. June is a slow time so it was not crowded at all. We had an ocean view room with a balcony and it was stunning. We also saw cats, monkeys and mongoose. None of them bothered us and we're fun to watch. The restaurant (Sunset Cafe) was right on the beach and the food was delicious and reasonably priced ($10-$12 USD). Their Hawaiian pizza came with huge chunks of pineapple and the burgers were seasoned to perfection. The breakfast options were delicious as well! We would definitely be staying here again if we come back to St. Kitts! One tip though - bring your own shampoo as their was not any provided. Read less

This resort has access to the Caribbean from the wooden deck that is covered and has many chaise lounges. All you do is walk six steps to the edge and go down 3 wooden steps and you are in the water. Their restaurant is also right there, so after a good swim you can eat lunch and enjoy the view. And while the food is not spectacular it served us just fine. And the staff is wonderful from the main desk, to those who clean your room to the waitresses at the restaurant. If you crave activity, the Shiggety Shack is across the street. Water activites? You can go on the Shiggety Shack Express, there are all sorts of water skis, etc. You actually do not have to leave this place to have a good time. In addition our suite had two rooms and a really good kitchen. Don't want to go out? Cook in. The cab drivers are great and I recommend not renting a car and use the expertise of the locals to sight see, get to a restaurant, etc. We also hired a cab for a tour of the island (3 hours- $100) and it was worth every penny. You can go over three hours and pay $30 per hour extra. We are planning to make this resort our "time share" we don't have to purchase. We will be regular customers. Read less
