The cannons on Pigeon Island were placed there by the helicopters of HMS Tiger in 1977 and were rediscovered by divers in Rodney Bay.
The two Pitons are of course the most photographed landmark on the island. The Gros Piton is easier climbed with well established tours, and the Petit is quite different in that there is no welcome center or even a marked trailhead for that matter.
