The rooms are very modern and clean, many with balconies or patios walking right out to the beach. There are free water activities, a beautiful beach and beautifully clear water. There is also a really cute pool. We ate at the buffet for dinner. It was a bit pricey, but it was so good! Amazing flavors. The chef, Peter, personally showed me which foods met my dietary restrictions. They had a great duet playing/singing and the outdoor restaurant looks out over the ocean. I liked that the resort was smaller and more intimate. The staff was able to give us more personalized attention. There is also a small town about a 15 minute walk away with shops, restaurants and groceries. The hotel also has a shuttle to take you there. Read less

My mum and I have just returned from a fantastic eight nights at the Bay Gardens Resort and Spa. What sets this hotel apart from others in the same area is its friendly staff, excellent location and immediate beach access. We stayed in a pool view room but were lucky enough to have a sea view also (room 609). The room was spacious and included two double beds. There were no small toiletries in the bathroom but we assumed this was down to the hotel attempting to become more eco-friendly. There was however body wash, shampoo conditioner and lotion available in dispensers, some of which were branded with the Bay Gardens logo. We stayed on the all-inclusive basis which allowed us to dine around in three different local restaurants and entitled us to a spa treatment per day which we took great advantage of. We would recommend booking your spa treatments at the beginning of your holiday as there are currently only three therapists, compared to the normal five, but I’m sure this will be fixed soon. Of the three local restaurants we dined in, Lil Chef was our favourite (see my other reviews). The hotel also has a daily, hourly shuttle bus which is happy to drop you off and pick you up from the local restaurants and other Bay Gardens hotels. On site there are two restaurants, Hi-Tide and SeaGrapes. We ate lunch in SeaGrapes most days and Hi-Tide when we weren’t dining out. The bars close at 11pm so this isn’t a late resort but that was fine for us. You can also order snacks from the all day menu if you get peckish in the afternoon which isn’t that widely publicised. Our only small criticism of the Bay Gardens is that they sell day passes to cruise passengers which gives them access to all the resorts facilities. This can make the resort feel quite crowded on days when there are cruise passengers visiting (4 out of 8 of the days we stayed) and some cruise passengers are noisier than others which isn’t the hotel’s fault but could be rectified by them only selling day passes to certain cruise ships. We would like to personally thank the following staff members for making our stay memorable; Teddy and McClaude at the bar, Trenton in Security, Julian the House Man, Christiel in the resort shop, Phillipa, Keliefia and Christal in the restaurants and Tricia the towel attendant – THANK YOU. We were disappointed in the staff - breakfast staff were sometimes actually grouchy, and overall they were not very friendly or welcoming, as we've experienced on other island vacations. Housekeeping was great and always attentive in the morning, no wait for a clean room. The voucher option for outside restaurants on the all-inclusive plan worked out very well; we had some great dinners at Jacques, Buzz and Razmataz. All in, a very relaxing vacation. Read less

A very nice, clean resort with well trained and friendly staff. Everyone was most helpful and the property is well maintained. It has a beautiful pool, nice beach and good views. An overall good value and we also noticed how family friendly the resort is.

The pool was beautiful and was open until 9 pm, but there are no lights after dark there, so not sure of the safety for little ones. We had an ocean view room. The food is good onsite, but very very expensive. The service is mediocre at the bar and at the restaurants. The beach is beautiful, and it has mostly clear Caribbean water which was calm so it was amazing to swim in. Non-motorized sports are included, so we went Sea-Kayaking, which was lots of fun. Snorkeling equipment is NOT included, so bring your own. It is $10 per set per day. Not worth it to rent. Many many people approaching you to buy jewelry, buy fresh coconut water, and rotis. No service on the beach for the bar. The seagrapes restaurant is horrible, and has poor service. We complained to the manager of the entire resort, and I think that she was concerned, but this poor service was a theme throughout the eating places onsite. Parents beware that there is usually very loud music playing until about 10 pm daily. There are lots of nightly shows and such, but it is very loud at night. Read less
