Harbor Club St Lucia Curio

St Lucia, Caribbean

The hotel

One of those exclusive clubs people dream of belonging to, the Harbor Club St Lucia, Curio Collection by Hilton's heavenly harbour-side sanctuary’s cool, contemporary, and chic. Launching in 2018, it has just the right amount of seaside styling without going overboard on nautical touches. Its marina-skirting pool deck is its showpiece, with four lagoon pools tumbling into each other, from the cabana-fringed top pool all the way down to the wooden waterfront deck. Whether you’re in the swim-up bar, gym, or penthouse Italian restaurant, you can watch life pass by in Rodney Bay, as yachts bob in the marina and the hotel’s complimentary powerboat whizzes guests to the tropical beaches of Pigeon Island. You’re mere moments from Rodney Bay’s restaurant and bar scene, but Harbor Club St. Lucia’s own menus tantalise with sushi, gourmet pizzas, complimentary all-American breakfasts, and the ice creams, pastries, and confectioneries of its Swiss-style bakery.

First impression was everything seemed a bit stark and there was on bell boys or persons to help you on arrival. However once at reception, like almost anywhere you go in this hotel, you are greeted with a warm and friendly attitude. That’s my first acknowledgment to the staff here - no matter who you stay hello to , gardeners, pool cleaners, restaurant or room service - every member of staff is so polite and attentive. It really made a difference during the stay. The rooms are generously proportioned, we had Oth a twin and a king room during our stay and both were good rooms. Although some rooms appear to have been finished almost completely and some still have final touches to be done. There are quieter rooms facing away from the pool area. Storage in the rooms is really good too. Housekeeping was top notch, and we chose not to have a full service everyday. However they where still good enough to give fresh pool towels each day. Although you can get each ones from the pool side. Poolside service was a little slow to be honest, they really need 2 staff on the bar not 1. However it was friendly and a great area for couple and families to chill out. Yolanda appeared to by the normal cook for the poolside pizzas and all made with homemade dough she was terrific. The hotel does not have direct access to a beach however they offer a free boat shuttle service to the near by Pigeon Island, where RodneyFort is situated. In our opinion this was a really u see sold service. We got there and they set up sun lounges, towels and a chilled with water for us. Completely unexpected. The hotel has 4 restaurants and in the main they do not disappoint. Only only under par dinner we have was the seared tuna, which unfortunately was way over cooked. However everything else was spot on. (See my other reviews for restaurants) Breakfast had a good selection and local options changed each day. The hotel has recently gone through a new change in management and I think they will sort the small details out as they go. The tour deck was helpful in a whole manor of things and once again customer service was great. For me the person of the hour/stay was Alston. He appeared to be restaurant manager in the main 6th floor restaurant but was also sra ding in elsewhere too. He attention to detail, customer service, friendly attitude and knowledge about the menus, and overall friendliness got him my Hilton Honours ‘catch me at my best’ referral card. Early breakfast was quick and easy, a later breakfast was slow and not a full selection or set tables. (I would suggest queuing people during busy period, and seating them once a table is set, it quite normal ever in highend hotels). Rooms Service was good and onsite gym was well equipped. Spa facilities were limited to the menu (ie. no sauna, jacuzzi or stream room) of treatments. We both had a moisturising body wrap to prepare us for the long journey home, and it was reasonably priced. Happy hours are 5-7 in all the bars. We look forward to returning here, I only hope it’s not long. What stands out currently is how friendly, attentive and happy the staff are. We really felt very welcome, part of a family, but they need a bellhop or greater on the door, so attention to final touches in the rooms and they will be sorted. Hi Read less

It seemed to be conveniently located to shopping with two malls and restaurants about a 5 minute taxi drive for $10 up the street or a 15 minute walk. We made reservations the day before for the beach trip to Pigeon island. I thought we would get the boat ride there but we were taken and picked up by a van instead, disappointing. We had reserved lounge chairs with towels and a cooler filled with water (although there was a family with kids in our chairs when we got there and the representative kindly let them know that the chairs were reserved). The complimentary breakfast was excellent, I got the made to order omelette every morning. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and attentive. The brick oven pizza was delicious and one of the best meals there. I did not particularly find the food on the dinner entree menu that great. I ordered the salad with shrimp the last night and it was good. The hotel staff overall were friendly although I would have line to have been told that you offered a tour service and taxi service when I checked in or before. I had already arranged for a private driver to take us to Soufriere. The hotel was clean and well kept. I always saw someone cleaning when by the pool or eating outside on the restaurant patio. This was a great choice for us as although on the main highway the hotel was not crowded and noisy when we stayed. If you don’t eat all meals on site then there is a marina about 5 minutes walk away or a 15 minute walk to the Rodney bay malls and restaurants. The hotel staff, particularly in the restaurant, were very friendly and welcoming to us each day. The breakfast buffet provided a wide range of local and international cuisine with something for everyone. The omelettes were particularly good and cooked to your order. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The pool area good and a decent size of pool with shallow and deeper pools plus a separate jacuzzi. Pool towels are on hand. The hotel has quite a significant amount of business clientele so a good mix of holiday and commercial residents. There is a poolside bar and pizzeria. Rooms were a good size with air conditioning, hairdryer, expresso machine, bottled water replenished daily and a small fridge. Slippers and bathrobes provided too. Good sized gym, bar area, beauty spa and bakery are all on site. We were able to use the gym showers prior to departure after checking out and there was no problem with our luggage being stored. There was entertainment on a couple of nights at the poolside which lasted couple of hours. There is a complimentary boat to pigeon island which runs twice a day; beach towels and water were supplied and Stuart, the skipper, was a really helpful and reliable guide on the outbound and return trips. We enjoyed our stay very much. Read less
