Harbor Club St Lucia Curio

St Lucia, Caribbean

The hotel

One of those exclusive clubs people dream of belonging to, the Harbor Club St Lucia, Curio Collection by Hilton's heavenly harbour-side sanctuary’s cool, contemporary, and chic. Launching in 2018, it has just the right amount of seaside styling without going overboard on nautical touches. Its marina-skirting pool deck is its showpiece, with four lagoon pools tumbling into each other, from the cabana-fringed top pool all the way down to the wooden waterfront deck. Whether you’re in the swim-up bar, gym, or penthouse Italian restaurant, you can watch life pass by in Rodney Bay, as yachts bob in the marina and the hotel’s complimentary powerboat whizzes guests to the tropical beaches of Pigeon Island. You’re mere moments from Rodney Bay’s restaurant and bar scene, but Harbor Club St. Lucia’s own menus tantalise with sushi, gourmet pizzas, complimentary all-American breakfasts, and the ice creams, pastries, and confectioneries of its Swiss-style bakery.

After an approximate 15 hours of travel from London, all we wanted to do was get into our rooms. Our room was booked as two beds, two females travelling. So why were we told that a room with one bed had been secured? After voicing my dissatisfaction I was told "but it's a King bed". Do I care? I wanted my own bed which is what I had booked. We hung around for quite a while until this was sorted. Most unsatisfactory, especially when we then discovered that guests who were lone travellers had been given rooms with two beds! How does that work? There was no order at reception, and I'm afraid to say the staff really didn't seem to know what they were doing. The design of the reception had not been thought out sufficiently, with a circular desk, which allowed for no form of queuing. This area really needs some attention. Disappointing that we weren't offered some sort of concession, given the error and our dissatisfaction. Many of our group, me included, complained about the shifting mattress and constantly hitting our legs on the base of the bed. Whilst I understand that the beds are designed to be conducive to a "marine" setting, some serious injury could be caused by walking into the bed base. I think this needs to be looked at. Having said the above, once settled into our room, we found it pleasant and clean. Our only disappointment was no balcony. Apparently you have to pay extra for a balcony! The location of the Club is a little away from the main strip, and main shopping Mall of Rodney Bay, but if it's peace and quiet you prefer, this is perfect. Breakfast was good but bar drinks extremely expensive. EC$6 for a small bottle of coke, which is EC$2 if you can be bothered to walk to the Marina to the few shops there. Only from the reviews do I know about a shuttle service to the beach. Why was there no mention of this when we checked in? The upshot is I would stay here again as it's a nice, secure hotel, but the reception area/checking in needs more attention. Not the welcome to St Lucia I was expecting, having visited many times, and stayed in varying degrees of hotels - my expectations were perhaps a little high for this very new hotel. Read less

We stayed at the hotel for the last part of our honeymoon and we enjoyed it. Our room was beautiful and overlooked the pool and harbour and the bathroom was great. The only problem was that the rooms have a bit of an ant problem - fresh buns were left for us in a box on arrival and when i opened the box the buns were covered in hundreds of ants. So if you are staying here do not leave any food/sweets sitting out. The infinity pools are amazing (it's easy to relax by them all day!). The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service to the beach on pigeon island, as the hotel is about 25 mins walk from the main beach. The beach on pigeon island is beautiful and I would definitely recommend it over the main beach in Rodney Bay! The hotel is located near many restaurants either at the harbour or if you walk towards the main beach. I would recommend 'Julia's' restaurant in the hotel - the food was delicious and was a great price! For the breakfast buffet in the mornings there was a decent selection of food provided. Overall, we had a great experience - the staff, location, hotel were all great! Read less

We also found it very expensive to eat and drink in the hotel. Local cabs are very expensive as a guide 10 min walk will cost usd $10 Airport is usd $80 At breakfast we found they never reset the tables and the staff don’t respond well when you ask for something The staff we found went out of there way to make our trip a good one was Barry, nell, Tanya the bar staff Extra charges they don’t tell you about Reception desk is not helpful and they charge $20 per hour if you want to keep the room after check out time House keeping cost extra Private sun beds cost extra Balcony rooms and dipping pool rooms are extra Read less

The Harbour club hotel in St.Lucia is a brand new property with spectacular view of the marina and the hills at Rodney Bay. The rooms are very clean, comfortably modern and refreshing. Unlike many facilities you don’t find a grand lobby and reception area but an intimate and friendly checking space. There are at least 3-4 spacious bars and restaurants in the hotel. The restaurant on the 6 floor is one of the best in the city. The bed is very comfortable but the mattress tend to slide off a bit and you may find your pillows stuck in-between the headboard and the Mattress. The breakfast terrace gives a wonderful view of the marina and the hotel pool area. There is a buffet breakfast with omelet stand. Overall this property is wonderful for visitors and business travelers alike. Read less
