The Landings Resort & Spa by Elegant Hotels

St Lucia, Caribbean

The hotel

The Landings’ signature cocktail sums up this deliciously decadent hotel, ‘Sweet Euphoria’. An all-villa resort, it delivers moments like kicking off your shoes and sinking your feet into the sand at Callaloo Beach Bar & Grill — just one of its five bars and restaurants — or soaking up views of its private marina or Rodney Bay as you stretch out on your suite’s terrace; or letting the world drift by as you relax in its three pools, two hot tubs, sweeping sandy beach, and luxury spa and fitness club. Little guests have not been forgotten either — they can create memories of picnic trips to Pigeon Island, sand sculpting, and fishing by the bay at their kids’ club. Just remember, Rodney Bay Village is only 10 minutes’ drive away if you can bear to tear yourself from The Landings’ luxury.

We decided to try a new Caribbean island this year and chose St. Lucia... upon doing research... they didn't really have many all inclusive resorts so we opted for a condo style 2 bedroom at The Landings Resort and Spa European plan which included a full breakfast buffet and eggs to order each morning.. espresso was extra.... We were told on our transfer from the airport they they were in a slow month as lobster season had ended May 15th.. and it doesn't really get busy again until July... which was fine for us b/c the resort wasn't packed/crowded... We arrived in a pretty heavy rain, but we were able to pull up under a covered reception where our driver unloaded luggage with the help of the bell guys... we were greeted with lemon fresh cool towels and a tasty rum punch... Nadia gave us a warm welcome and allowed us to sit down in the lobby to do our check in... she also informed us that we had gotten an upgrade to a room with a plunge pool and a butler which was a great appreciated gesture. After our check in, she gave us some instructions about the internet and who our butlers would be... and a run down of where things were located.... It was still raining and we were offered to wait or attempt to get to our room.. but was warned we might get wet... lol we were not afraid of melting and luckily the rain broke right when we got on the golf cart... we got a quick tour of where the Beach Club restaurant/bar, tennis courts, pools, and beach were located... he walked us up to our room and got us situated and let us know our luggage was on the way... our room was very well appointed with modern decor (seemed to have had a recent remodel)... brand new Miele appliances, Fridge/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer... and soap for the machines... we felt that our location was perfect b/c our back patio overlooked the man made marina and had the led lit plunge pool/hot tub along with a full 6 top table and chairs... the from had two door entry.. which made the from patio nice and secluded from anyone walking by... it also had two nice lounge chairs which we had a perfect view of Rodney Bay/Beach... (we could also see the movie that they showed one night!)... our luggage came and Antoniocious (Tony) our butler came by to introduce himself... and let us know how to contact him and Peronilla (other butler) via a small cell phone which we could carry with us...they also gave us a nice fruit and cheese plate... the beds were very comfortable, and they have a/c controllers in the main room and both bedrooms... we did our best to turn them off when we left to not waste energy... the nice thing was it was only in the mid 80s in the day and 70s at night.. mosquitos were also not a big issue for us.. I think mainly b/c of the drought they were coming out of.. and the nice breeze that blew steadily... Now as I mentioned it was a slow month for the area (which is located right next to Sandals adults only at Pigeon Island... so an easy walk across sandals to Pigeon Island.. or they have a water taxi for $5/pp each way ($10pp round trip)...also a boat dock where you can be picked up for excursions.... plus the park charges $8/pp to hike or explore the island.... note the island is connected to the mainland now... def worth a day trip... The beach was clean, soft sand, foam floats, and plenty of umbrellas and chairs.... they also had 3 floating rings you could lounge on in the water... the waterspouts guys were also awesome and friendly... we took a hobie cat out everyday... and they were good to give my son pointers as he was the captain the entire time... this is also where you could exchange your beach towels each day... our only complaint woudl be that since it was slow, the restaurants were not all open each day... we had even called the butlers to see if we could get into the Palm, and they didn't even know.. and said they'd call us back... we didn't hear from them, so we just ordered pizzas to the room and stayed in... we were lucky in that we did stop at a liquor store and bought a case of champagne and liquor for our room... drinks were normally priced for a resort.. but I did think $12 for a virgin strawberry daiquiri was a bit much for a teen.. (lol I told him next time go ahead and get the shot of rum on the side for me!)... if we came back we would definitely bring more dry snacks/meals for quick easy lunches.. and eating at the same beach club restaurant got old quick!...1/2 mile ride into Rodney bay is $30 round trip so it didn't make a lot of sense to make a bunch of trips into town... we did find the Thirsty parrot grill and bar next to Sandals that had a tasty lunch... Chef George did have a great beach dinner party where we ate on the beach with our toes in the sand.. but I felt that the $42 pasta and stir fry dishes were a bit on the small side... but the experience and ambiance with live singing was very nice... The Palm IMO was very good.. the best meal we had... I wish we had been able to figure out when they were open and not open, then we would have eaten there more than once... the managers did host a meet and great cocktail party on Monday evening.. with hors'douvres, wine and rum punch which was a nice touch....The spa services were reasonably priced and they did a great job.. I had a Swedish massage and my daughter had a facial and mini massage... lastly... they made check out nice as they came to our room and let us check out from there and just had to verify the last few digits of my credit card on file.. then our transfer was able to pick us up right from our building.... overall a very pleasant experience.... and we would definitely go back...one thing I would recommend is that they open a small commissary to purchase snacks/drinks or even vending machines... Kudos to the everyone who made our vacation memorable... we appreciate your hard work and friendliness!!! Read less

The beach was never crowded and the beach staff was super friendly and attentive. My wife and I decided to have an in suite dinner with Chef George and it was absolutely perfect. Chef George is such a nice and funny guy! My wife and I sat at the bar top while we talked with him and Andre the butler, who was also very friendly. We are both vegetarians and my wife is gluten free, so making food for us can be challenging, but Chef George came up with the perfect menu and every dish was exquisite! When we go back to St. Lucia we will definitely be staying here again! Read less

Had such a relaxing stay at The Landings! The beach and the water is gorgeous and I loved being able to kayak during the day. Rodney Bay has calm and clear water and the beach was also very clean. Plenty of chairs every morning (we went may 18-25 and was told it was off season). I read that the higher rooms are best, so when I saw we were in room 103 I was a little disappointed until I saw the view, our patio, hot tub and the yard area which was beautifully landscaped! You could walk right out the sliding doors by the sitting area/kitchen table and you were just steps away from the beach. If I came back I would ask for that room again. FREE buffet breakfast every morning from 7:10:30 (some people said they weren't aware of that) it also has an omelette station. The chicken sandwich as callaloo was absolutely delish and we had a nice dinner at the beach club. Also, don't miss out on the Beach BBQ on friday night. $42 pp great food, entertainment, music and dining right on the beach! If you want to get taxi's to Rodney Bay it's $15.00 each way which added up by the end of the week. We went to buzz seafood in rodney bay which was great and also the naked fisherman which was really romantic and had a great 4 course meal. Also, we loved spinnakers on Redduit Beach. Less expensive then the other restaurants too. The only thing we didn't love was our dinner at Palms on the resort. We didn't know the other restaurants would be close and we were hungry so just went there. It was quite expensive and being that we live in city filled with lots of restaurants and good food (that's expensive) we can be tough critics! For the prices, it wasn't all that great. Although we were able to find a pretty good bottle of wine for $35.00 :) Make sure to visit Pigeon Bay which is just a 20 minute walk from The Landings. It has great views and 2 restaurants. I also recommend the tet Paul Nature trail if you're visiting the south. Would absolutely stay at The Landings again! If you're looking for a relaxing low key getaway this is it. Oh yes - get the deep tissue massage with lorraine totally worth it! Read less

Great location on a beautiful beach. The staff is friendly, entertaining, and helpful. I especially enjoyed Chef George at the Callaloo, and bar tender Elijah at the beach front restaurants/bars. Briana, at the concierge desk, was great with information and arranging tours and taxis. I will definitely stay here again.
