Bequia Plantation Hotel

St Vincent and the Grenadines, Caribbean

The hotel

The simplicity of Bequia Plantation Hotel is part of its beguiling beauty. An unpretentious space, the owners know the location’s all you could ever need – right on the wanderlust-satisfying sands of Admiralty Bay, whose glittering waters are graced by yachts, and just a stroll along Admiralty Walkway from Port Elizabeth. Its acres of tropical gardens are punctuated with towering coconut palms, charming cottages, a bay-view restaurant with an authentic brick pizza oven, and the hotel’s bijou but beautiful swimming pool – there for those odd occasions you’d rather not take your dips off one of Bequia’s beaches. Whether you stay in the main house or pick one of the suites or villas which nestle in the gardens, among the fruit trees, and even on the soft sands of Admiralty Bay, you’ll experience a chic blend of contemporary and Caribbean styling.

We arrived in Bequia on March 18 this year, a little bruised and battered by the strange world we find ourselves in, and not knowing whether we would be able to return home! What we found, to our unending delight, was a real gem of a hotel, perching on the edge of the most amazing beach, and the warmest of welcomes greeted us. Our little home from home, footsteps from the beach, was well appointed, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The breakfast, served in the open sided, breezy restaurant, is tasty, and always accompanied by the brightest of smiles. Every member of staff is courteous, polite and engaging, and there is a sense of a real team at work, headed up by Lewis. The hotel and Bequia itself emptied out around us, as the call to return home came to all nationalities. We had to cut our break a little short in order to meet the very last flight out of Barbados. For the last 3 days, we were the only guests in the hotel, which was a strange and surreal experience, yet all the staff made us feel so welcome, despite their own uncertain futures and probable hardship caused by the hotel closing. I apologise for not remembering the names of all these wonderful people, as I was completely consumed by the need to get a flight home. Suffice to say that the whole team at the Plantation Hotel are gorgeous human beings, and we are planning to book again for 2021 (and beyond) to get the full blown Bequia experience! Read less

We were looking for a gracious old school Caribbean hotel, (but one with contemporary comforts and) appointments and we have definitely found it at the Plantation Hotel. Our expectations have been exceeded. As we are still in the midst of our 2-week stay, I’ll update this review frequently. For now we couldn’t be more happy. Thank you Lewis & Team! Read less

The plantation's feel is gentle, elegant and easygoing. Service is warm and efficient and the rooms are well appointed. Breakfasts set you up for the day and evening meals are excellent. I can't find any fault. You can walk to a long sandy beach in one direction, to a busy port in the other and go straight ahead for exquisite snorkelling. Read less

Bequia Plantation Hotel was the perfect place for our two week vacation. The location is ideal. It is centrally located with easy access to many restaurants and beaches. We didn't need a car. The food was excellent as was the service. I highly recommend the Bequia Plantation Hotel.
