The Liming Bequia

St Vincent and the Grenadines, Caribbean

The hotel

One of the last bastions of Caribbean exclusivity, the islanders of Bequia know how special it is – which is why the owners of this beach retreat only invite a handful of guests to stay at any one time. With just nine luxury villas, one chic Junior Suite, and the five bedroom mansion house to pick from, each with its own infinity pool or hot tub, it has the feel of a private and very exclusive estate. This elite edge continues at The Liming’s dining room, where seafood is fresh from the ocean and many other ingredients are island-sourced – and it’s all served on the sea-top terrace (or in your villa or suite if you fancy even more privacy).

My husband and I stayed at the Limming for 4 nights, and it was an amazing stay! The property itself is very new, beautifully constructed and private so it allows you to really relax. Here are the highlights: - beautiful, private beach with perfect sunset views - gorgeous villas with either private pool or hot tub. Daily housekeeping and turndown services. The TVs were equipped with Amazon, Netflix and cable - restaurant food was amazing! Not all of the items on the menu were always available, but the chef was always willing to accommodate with an alternate (ie. I needed a veggie option and they made me pasta!). I had the mango kulfi dessert every night and was obsessed, so delicious! - wonderful daily breakfast included in our stay - we don’t drink so I can’t speak to the bar/drinks but my virgin daiquiri was perfect! - EXCELLENT customer service. This to me was by far the most impressive. Nice, accommodating staff made our stay so comfortable - secluded so it’s a bit of a trek to the ferry/town/restaurants but the hotel arranged a taxi whenever we needed it. Super close from the airport though - I got the in-room massage which was wonderful but that’s the one thing I would add- a spa and gym facilities - we were fortunate to book with points but I know it’s on the pricy side, I think deals + addition of a few more facilities and food option would make it perfect! Thank you, The Limming for a wonderful stay, we hope to have the opportunity to return! Read less

Took advantage of complimentary taxi service from port Elizabeth to Limings for dinner. Lovely open plan restaurant with sea view and breeze. Watched the New moon set over the sea. To begin with we were the only couple in the restaurant. Coctails were well done although the garnish to my martini took some time to appear. Our starters and mains were ordinary, sirloin steak was poor quality and chips appeared to have been frozen french fries not triple hand cut. However the sweets were fantastic. Full marks to the pastry chef for the champagne sorbet and the passion fruit. Wine, water and brandy were all ok but strangely all served in water glasses. Servers appeared hesitant and unconfident but friendly and helpful. Could easily become a fine dining experience but not yet up to their sister hotel, Plantation House's standard, especially the steak which was so much better. Read less

Stayed here in late 2019 and absolutely loved this place. The level of service and the overall atmosphere is simply beyond anything I rarely see in the Caribbean. Located about 2 minutes from the local airport too! Will be back again and again. Read less

The art of doing nothing is the motto of the Liming and it certainly provides the surroundings and service to live up to it. We spent ten marvellous days in one of the nine luxurious villas which make up the hotel. We woke up late each day to a wonderful breakfast in the restaurant bordering an idyllic Caribbean bay! Everything is laid on for your convenience. Service is friendly and the hotel management team of Gemma and Aoife could not have done more to make our stay perfect. Exploring Bequia is not easy given the poor state of the roads but patience is rewarded by the beauty of the island and the natural friendliness of the people. The hotel arranged a day trip by boat to Mustique for us which was an adventure given the choppy sea that day but we had a great time under the care of Glen our captain. We never felt in the least unsafe on Bequia. The local people seem happy to live in a Caribbean paradise! Read less
