Blue Haven Hotel

Tobago, Caribbean

The hotel

This charming boutique hotel boasts a fascinating history. Built on the ruined remains of Fort King George in the 1940s, Blue Haven Hotel attracted the film stars of the 40s and 50s, and was also a location for several films, including Swiss Family Robinson. All rooms have breath-taking ocean views and are very well equipped. Resort amenities include the colonial Shutters on the Bay Restaurant and No Problem Beach Bar, which is renowned for its fantastic location on Bacolet Bay, where Robinson Crusoe was supposedly washed ashore. Sadly, what was once and for many years, a beautiful hotel has been left to deteriorate to become derelict! A beautiful beach where they filmed Swiss Robinson is now covered in debris and the beach bar that served great lunches is closed.

We also recommend going for cocktails to the terrace bar during sunset time. It was truly magnificent! We enjoyed the hotel beach as well since we did not have to drive far to enjoy the sun and go swimming. If we are ever in Tobago again, we will be sure to stay at the Blue haven! Read less

Came to the Blue Haven Hotel for the Carnival Cool Down Special and it was a real relaxation mini vacation. We had dinner on the terrace, which overlooked the entire island... what a nice view and the food was great too. First time at the Blue Haven and we will definitely be back when we are in Tobago again!
