The room required 2 maintenance visits , an open sewer outside the room made for grim smells and complete denial from staff it was an issue they are obviously trained to deny it which did become comical. That being said it’s a beautiful resort however very hilly so if mobility issues make sure at beachfront We were 2 adults 2 kids one baby in a family room for 5 nights it was a bit of a squash Pool was great and beach beautiful The beach gets very busy in the day as lots of people walk over the monkey trail to ao nang to visit Boat and pier was fine and we navigated with 3 young children and a push chair The resort is really overpriced for food and drinks compared to other resorts they are capitalising on being remote but you can walk into ao nang easy enough through the monkey trail ( not with young kids or a pushchair) or be organised and book the boat. Prices are comparable to normal UK restaurant prices so not unaffordable just expensive for Thailand They charged for kayaks which is tight - we were at a lovely barcelo coconut island before and things like kayaks were free and the other resort was cheaper and much better so check that out Monkeys - kids were enthused and saw lots - I don’t like them and didn’t go looking for them and in 5 days didn’t see one monkey - some reviews would make you think the resort was overrun with monkeys - it’s not ! However we did really enjoy it and it was great option as we were several families travelling together Read less

Lots of comments about the Monkey Bridge and personally I didnt think it was safe and only used it once, would definitely not use it at night, too dangerous. I do think the hotel should maintain it properly as the speedboat into town is limited in time and space and in someways it spolied our holiday as we were tied to a time to leave and get back (felt like I had a cerfew on me to be home on time LOL). Breakfasts were amazing but the rest of the menus were quite limited and very expensive in comparision to Ao Nang town. Read less

Had such a great time there. No questions, it was hands down the best location for a hotel i have ever been at. The grand rocks above the hotel and the beach just bellow, created a blissful scenery, and after all that, adding the monkey trail with 10’s of free monkeys. Also, if you see this, thank you so much Vinko and Vlad from the Carpe Diem… Read more

Morning aqua gym with the meditation and mindfulness at the end, and beach voleyball were just at another level! Read less

Don't get me wrong, this resort is gorgeous. However, my stay experience was deteriorating from the moment I arrived. First, it is a nightmare to get on and off the resort. The free shuttle boat is only for 23 customers in one trip. And the boat schedule is 1-2 hours apart. It took 3 hours to get on the boat to arrive. The amazing views of resort didn't help to ruin the experience. We were not greeted and we were wondering around resort trying to find a front desk to check in. We arrived around 6 PM and there were not a single person at the front desk counter. Finally, we were able to find someone who brought us the the area where we could seat and left us there without explanation what is happening. After were sitting for at least 30 minutes, we went around the hotel trying to find someone to ask when we can get checked in. Finally, someone came and took our passports and without explaining anything, disappeared again. Finally, he brought us keys and told us we would get a bottle of champagne. At any point we were explained about the resort features and instructions how get in and out of resort. When we booked a tour, tried to get on a shuttle boat to get to the pier for tour, we were rudely explained that we have to make a reservation in advance. And told us to use monkey trail and then taxi to get to the pier. When I was trying to explain at the front desk that no one ever explained us a shuttle service during check-in, they stop engaging with me and pretend that they are busy with something else. Outside of the horrible experience with the front desk stuff, the restaurant service in the hotel is extremely slow and half rude as we are burden to them. This is the first experience of such a rude service in Thailand. I have been traveling all over the Thailand for several years. This resort left a bad taste and ruined my impression about Thai hospitality. Absolutely horrible Read less

We walk up to the bar or front desk and have to ask if they are busy as they do not welcome. There are steep hills with the rooms and offer a buggy service-but the service is not available most of the time. If you choose to make a scene then they send a buggy-not very vackay like! the grounds are beautiful but the only way off and on the resort is by their boat service-every hour or so-so you must calculate that into your evening out or arrival and departure. (We waited an hour after traveling for many hours) This place is ripe for a Marriot to take it over and do a good job in management! Read less
