Hilton Toronto

The hotel

Hilton Toronto is seriously well-connected — it’s attached to the city’s popular PATH walkway, an underground labyrinth linking you to top downtown sights and forming the world’s largest subterranean shopping venue. If PATH’s 1,200-plus stores don’t satisfy your retail urges, you’re also an above-ground walk from hundreds of shops at Eaton Centre, along with that Toronto tourist must, CN Tower. They haven’t rested on their ‘location’ laurels here though: Hilton have made sure there’s plenty to return to after exploring, with a fitness room, indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna, and spacious modern guestrooms (some with complimentary Continental breakfast thrown in). If you’re just returning for dinner, you’ve got the steakhouse’s prime Midwestern beef and Tundra Restaurant’s Canadian styling and global dining to pick from — each chased with a cheeky post-dinner coffee from the hotel’s own branch of Starbucks®.

Rooms in this hotel are *noisy*. Really noisy. You can hear doors slamming all night, people talking in the corridor - even the plumbing in other rooms. I have had to stay in this hotel several times on business trips (no choice), unfortunately, and even as a HH member the service is consistently sub-par. Despite being presented with a bill of over $900 for a two night stay, no housekeeping was provided. When I complained, I was told I put a DND sign on the door during housekeeping hours - not true. Saw no housekeeping at all on my floor all morning until I left for work. In short: poor value for money. Avoid. Read less

Marriott used to be my family of 6’s go to hotel chain. Then it switched to Hilton since Marriott made it clean after multiple instances that loyalty was only a one way street expected from me. Now Hilton seems to be doing some of the same things. Anytime I’ve had an individual hotel issue in the past I’ve always had it made right by the Diamond customer service line. Today, after a 30 minute phone call, this was not the case. I’m a Diamond member. In the benefits page for the hotel I’m staying at it says Diamond members “always” receive lounge access and either a food credit or complimentary continental breakfast. I was told at check in and just now by the Diamond customer service line representative that I do not receive either because my work paid for the hotel. So, the benefits and status that I earned before this trip are invalid because my employer paid for my hotel. Even though it says “always” in the benefits page for this hotel visit, it doesn’t actually mean always. Got it. Add Hilton to the list of companies that expect and depend on your loyalty but do not return the same to you. Even when it’s spelled out black and white in their terms of service and explanation of benefits. IGH, I’m not looking at you…would you like the business and loyalty of a family of 6 that travels a lot? Very disappointed Hilton! Read less

I keep coming back to this Hilton because I can count on the friendly staff and executive lounge for great service. Awesome mattress ! The body wash was empty so we needed to use facial soap to wash. Bathroom light in shower is dripping with dirt. Over $400 a night including a later check out as we have a graduation starting at 2 pm. If we didn’t do late checkout, we’d be wandering around for 3 hours.
