Beautiful hotel in appearance. Expensive but a happening place. Rooms are spacious with windows galore. Amenities fall short of the luxury experience unfortunately. I travel often in luxury and in my earlier days not so much luxury. Here at the Pacific Rim, one has to pay to use the sauna!!! I swim in a high school pool and there is a free sauna, I go to gyms at condos and there is a sauna and they want an extra $53 to use a basic sauna? Now to use the pool at the Pacific Rim, one must go outside. There is no change room close to the pool. There is a washroom but every swimmer enjoys swimming and taking advantage of the hotel's change room close by to get ready for the day. So we used the spa area after our swim which is quite natural. My daughter and I decided to use the spa later on in the day to get ready to go out. This is part of the experience that is offered by luxury hotels. We were denied entry into the same area we had used that morning!! DENIED1!11 At over $500 a night. The gym looks great with all then new equipment but falls short of the basics. So in many ways the Fairmont gives the appearance of luxury but it is lacking in basics. It is not a luxury hotel. Read less

From check-in to check-out the experience was of the highest standards. We were there for a quick weekend getaway and with using the Amex platinum, got some nice perks like breakfast for 2 and USD $100 credit to spend at the hotel. We were there during a busy weekend, with Vancouver hosting the Rugby 7s tournaments. The hotel was bustling but even then check-in was smooth and the staff patient to answer all questions and give dining suggestions. We were able to eat breakfast at The Botanist, their restaurant on the second floor - only hiccup was it gets very crowded after 9am on a Saturday and the wait can be long. We stayed in room 1921, a 2 queen room. Room was decent sized but bathroom was very roomy with a soaking tub, shower, ample counter space with dual sinks, and even a tv built into the mirror. The room itself was very modern with usb outlets, safe and all the amenities you'd expect at this hotel level. They provided robes as well as slippers and multiple luggage racks. We were also able to take advantage of the property facilities. They only have an outdoor pool and in the middle of Feb, it was nicely heated so swimming at night was quite pleasurable. There were even heavy jackets that can be borrowed for people who don't enter the pool and are lounging. The gym was quite large, with 3 separate benches with free weights, plus a full rack for squats and what not. There was even a yoga room along with plenty of cardio machines. Only negative was the steep parking fee - which I think was $60 CDN but does provide in and out privileges. Read less

Everything you could hope for in a luxury hotel. The Art collection was high-end, the restaurants were incredible, and the atmosphere was a 10. The spa and pool area and the Nordic experience were worth the stay by itself. The hotel staff was beyond accommodating and went out of their way to make everything over top easy.
