The hotel

This glamourous bay-side residence sits on a curve of Vancouver Harbour facing stunning Stanley Park — giving you incredible views and incredible access to this urban utopia. You can explore the park like locals with The Westin Bayshore’s complimentary bikes (if you’re not tempted off-track by cycling expeditions like their tantalisingly titled ‘Craft Beer Tour’). This being a Westin hotel, they’ve included other sporty freebies like RunWESTIN jogging routes, YogaWESTIN sessions, and a WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studio. If sport isn’t your game, there’s always spa treatments, a soak in the chic circular pool (perfectly positioned by the harbour’s boardwalk, and your room’s ‘Heavenly’ bed and bath. And, after the sightseeing, the sports, or the simple relaxation, you can take your seat in the H2 Rotisserie and Bar to enjoy seasonal cuisine and views of Coal Harbour and the North Shore Mountains.

Absolutely wonderful staff, very great view, but ...our room itself was not in the least Westin level. Leaky shower, stuck sliding door, broken toilet handle, etc. and the worst of it...chinsaw-like mechanical sounds off inside the walls mixed with a blinking WiFi box light that we were told "Just couldn't be fixed." We had a lousy sleep every… Read more

We had a lousy sleep every night because of the lights and sounds. I have stayed at many Westin Hotels around the globe...this was the worst room by a long shot. Read less

Always a favourite local staycation option. Service is always lovely, rooms are clean and comfortable and the views towards the North Shore and mountains are always a lovely treat. Rooms are outdated. Beds and pillows are old and uncomfortable. They allowed people’s dogs to wander everywhere in the building, many off leash which was of poor taste and class, not to mention unhygienic. What about people with allergies? There was a hole in the ceiling of the shower; the hallways were dirty, as were the elevators. The room… Read more

There was a hole in the ceiling of the shower; the hallways were dirty, as were the elevators. The room service staff shout in the hallways and knock of your door even with a “do not disturb” sign. As for service… what service? The bell man didn’t want to help us with our bags. Room service is very limited; they also charge 15% on top as well as a delivery fee. Rooms are on par with best westerns both in quality, service and room size. I don’t know how they can justify calling this a 5 star hotel because it is not. Our family has stayed in 5 star hotels all over the world and this hotel doesn’t come close. Read less
