The staff watched me struggle with my bags and offered no assistance. At check in I was hit with fee's that were not included when I reserved the room or the follow up email. Other customers were offered champaign or water and I was offered nothing. I was not advised of the elevator to take so I went the wrong way, still dropping my bags and getting no assistance. I went the wrong way. I called the front desk for help and the girl laughed at me. A customer helped me with my bags and the gentleman who worked for another company taking the trash helped me to my room, not the hotel staff. The next day the maintenance man walked in on me naked even though I yelled multiple times to not come in the room. I went to the manager. The girl who checked me in remembered me out of 18 floors of rooms. The manager gave me a bottle of champaign and a bottle of water and offered to wave a bunch of fee's and pay for a dessert or breakfast. I was still charged the fees. It was humiliating that I struggled with my bags and went the wrong way and was offered no help but other customers were treated like royalty. Was their money any better than mine? This was my birthday weekend and I worked very hard to save money to stay at the overpriced hotel on the beach. It ended up being a miserable, humiliating experience. Read less

Hotel was not as pictured, in particular the room. Paid for an upgraded suite. Not worth it. Tired property in need of a refresh.

To celebrate our anniversary with our son, we paid $5,000 plus change for a two bedroom suite for three nights that included the numerous add-ons undisclosed at registration. For example, park it yourself cost $36.00 per night. The Hyatt’s fee add-on scheme is a page out of Le Miz’s Madam of the House. We understood that this is a pricey place,… Read more
To celebrate our anniversary with our son, we paid $5,000 plus change for a two bedroom suite for three nights that included the numerous add-ons undisclosed at registration. For example, park it yourself cost $36.00 per night. The Hyatt’s fee add-on scheme is a page out of Le Miz’s Madam of the House. We understood that this is a pricey place, but looked forward to serene sunsets and the sounds of the waves splashing up on the white sand. This was not to be. The hotel is located in the midst of a perpetual traffic jam with ambulances and firetrucks blasting us awake at all hours of the night as well as bicycle riding boom box blasters. Only the roar of a Class 5 hurricane would allow someone to hear the sound of the waves over the perpetual traffic din.Not loud enough? So they tossed in fire alarms two of the three mornings and required all residents to move to the first floor. Using the elevators was not allowed. We were on the 15th floor, but complied. Then the final kill shot. The balcony of an adjacent room extended over one of our bedroom windows and the female resident of that room peered directly into our space to watch a female in our room dressing. Weird! The one thing that did work was a polite welcome and efficient check-in. I hate to say “never again” because I grew up in Clearwater, and loved what the Hyatt used to be. But Never Again. Read less
