Our only reason for the trip was to visit Volcano Bay, as we've found Universal to be overpriced and crowded no matter what time of year you go. VB is a blast but they fleece you by making you buy tickets to all three parks anyway. The food at CB is decent, but we aren't looking for gourmet. The hotel could use some updates but we found everything fairly clean. The biggest disappointment was that I left my official (super comfy) CB branded robe in the room when we left. I think my husband mistook it for a towel!! 🥺 Likely we won't be back anytime soon, as this trip was an extravagance for us. But when we do, we'll stay at CB again. Maybe they'll save me a robe...😊 Read less

My wife and three kids were so excited to plan a trip to Universal and Volcano Bay for spring break. We were excited to stay at an authentic themed hotel that was on Universal property and conveniently within walking distance to Volcano Bay. However during our stay we were extremely let down over numerous occurrences. Upon checking into our suite we found the parking lot was extremely full and we were unable to park anywhere near our suite, and this was a reoccurring issue throughout our stay,we saw the bar stools in the suite were extremely worn down and our beds were extremely uncomfortable, the couch that pulls out into a bed was even more uncomfortable that we had to use the couch cushion on top of the mattress just so our teenage son could sleep. We had a very hard time accessing the pool because our key cards didn’t work half the time and after a long day at the parks we wanted to relax by the fire pit and the staff rudely told everyone that everything was closing and we needed to leave in 5 minutes (the pool area and bar was still very full upon being told this) this was also frustrating on another note because of the unpredictable weather we were not able to use a lot of the amenities earlier in the day. My wife had to call each night for more towels because no one serviced our room in the 3 nights we were there. We booked a bowling session while we were there and the staff was short and rude and made us feel like we were being rushed. On the way to the lobby my son fell on an uneven part of the walkway. I had asked for a late checkout until 1 and was told we would be charged a 100 dollars if we wanted to stay until 1. We paid a higher price to stay here given the peak season and that is understandable but we were expecting to get more out of what we paid given this a universal resort property that offers a lot of amenities. I stayed here for two nights with my family and we enjoyed our stay. When we walked into the lobby we were greeted by some of the most friendly hotel staff I've ever interacted with. They were superior in their customer service and enhanced the overall experience. The room itself was nothing spectacular but we spent our entire days at Universal so just having a bed was good enough. However, their definitely should be some basic updates to the rooms. Some more modern stuff could go a long way. Although I think it's meant to have a retro feel to their rooms. The food is overpriced like everything else associated with any theme park but when your family is hungry you have to pay. Easy shuttle to Universal with no long waits or hassles. Parking is $20/night but still cheaper than paying at the park. Overall I was happy with this stay and would probably come back again. Special shout out to Cedaysia who was the most friendly staff member and made everything easy and stress free. Please ensure she gets a pay raise or some sort of recognition for her outstanding work. Great 10 day stay in Cabana Bay in February with my son and daughter (20,10). Based ourselves here as we were only doing Universal this year. Hotel was great, rooms clean and spacious. We were based in the tower at Volcano Bay entrance which was a standard room. Brilliant for the water park and also getting the surf side bus over to international drive for Denny’s, ihop, walgreens etc. no fault with any of the hotel facilities and the walkway path to Universal and Sapphire Falls to get the water ferry were great options for skipping the main que at CityWalk. We had fantastic weather (we’re Scottish) and queues were low this time of year. TIP buy the refillable cups for your length of stay when you arrive. Take the hotel towels into volcano bay. Take a fire stick to chill out in your room Read less
