The hotel

Not just a hotel, Zilwa Attitude is more of an experience, embracing the life of the islanders. With a relaxed village feel, it is packed with authentic Mauritian experiences so you’ll truly feel like one of the natives after a week or two here. In a beautiful location, overlooking endless stretches of sandy beach and with stunning views of no less than five islands, it is a slice of heaven. Just a few minutes away by boat, or a short paddle, is Grand Zil where you can while away a few hours on a lounger and perhaps tuck in to a barbecue lunch — or enjoy a rejuvenating massage on the smaller Ti Zil. Rooms are inspired from traditional seaside bungalows and are contemporary in design but rustic too with rough white-washed walls and brushed cement floors. Embracing bright colours, there's a choice of room types, as well as family rooms, apartments and suites by the sea. Book a treatment at the world-class spa and take some time to chill on a day bed in the relaxation garden whilst listening to the twitter of birdsong. As you kick back, the little ones will be kept happy at the kids' club, with a fun garden, a games room and a large boat to explore and escape the sun ! There are six restaurants at Zilwa, offering cuisines from European to Creole, Indian and Asian, and the All Inclusive dine-around experience means you can discover wonderful varied meals each day of your stay.

The staff is just rude af. We sat our table minimum 30 minutes and nothing. They didn’t gave a menu, QR code or anything. When we asked the staff they just looked at us and went to a nother table. This is nonsense.

We are a family of 5 and stayed at the Zilwa Attitude for 13 nights over the Easter holidays. Our children are aged 15, 13 and 11. The view as you walk into the hotel is incredible, the grounds are beautiful and our room (deluxe family room) was perfect. Food: Breakfast buffet had an excellent selection, buffet on the beach (Lor Disab) was our favourite place for lunch although the burgers at Karay and rotis/ curry’s at Taba J were delicious too. Grand Zil BBQ buffet was fab. Karay buffet always had a great selection for dinner. We ate at Tadka, Kot Nou, Manao and Lor Disab for dinner and had excellent meals at all of them. Kids (and husband!) loved the afternoon pancakes at Tabja J. A big shout out to Davina (Tabja J) chef Caniah, Caroline and Elyna (who were wonderful waitresses). Drinks: Beer and wines were good, excellent selection of cocktails ( the hotel signature Cotimelli was my favourite), kids loved the mocktails. Dursan at the beach bar was a super barman and Paul, who worked at the main bar, was fantastic. Activities: Great selection for all age groups- table tennis, water polo, beach football, volleyball and more! Fabian and Kevin, who organised the activities were fantastic. Snorkelling, kayaking and pedalo were also great activities that were included. Trips: We hired a car for 2 days and also did a number of fantastic trips around the island. I would highly recommend exploring the island- it’s incredible. Victor (who works as a driver for the hotel), can organise an excellent selection of trips. He is extremely knowledgeable, honest (definitely offers the best prices) and is a lovely person- I would highly recommend booking with Victor. Overall, I cannot fault the hotel. We had an incredible holiday- made special memories and friends. Read less
