Lapita Dubai Parks & Resorts Autograph Collection

I stayed in this hotel as an option given by Emirates after cancelling the flights due to bad weather. I am actually writing this review to give some good credits to Anthony, person who was wearing a green t-shirt and booked a cab for me on April 17th to Dubai Airport. Unfortunately I had to come back to the hotel after travelling just 1 or 2km from the hotel due to flooded roads. I got caught to scamming by taxi driver and he charged me AED 500, when Anthony asked why I am here again, I told him the story and he raised his voice on behalf of me and took all the necessary steps to get my money back. So I would like to appreciate all his effort and the way he solved the problem. Then I would like to thank the Sri Lankan Staff in this hotel for the customer service they provided, when I was helpless with two toddlers alone until I get the rescheduled flight. But I am not happy with the attitude of Reservation manager Riya Kapoor, who gave me some hard time extending my stay for another night until she heard by herself from Emirates regarding the rescheduled flight of mine. We travelled from the UK as a group of 6 (5 Adults and 1 x 8 year old). We stayed for 13 nights on an All inclusive package. We had lovely rooms which were in a great location, they were clean, comfortable and modern. We stayed during the UK Easter holiday break so there were a lot of UK families in our first week. Plus points: -Great Rooms with plenty of bottled water provided - A friendly welcome to the hotel with a welcome drink and garland -2 big pools and a lazy river (floaties & towels provided) -Buffet restaurant had a huge choice and was always being replenished (Thank you to Blessing for looking after us so well) -Ari restaurant portions were huge and delicious -Hakina was a nice place to go for a quiet breakfast or lunch - The lobby bar was a nice place to sit and drink in the evenings (Roy looked after us very well). -The 30 minute free massage included in our package was amazing! -The fireworks for Eid outside the hotel were really impressive -Access and distance from the parks was convenient. All parks were easy to walk to and had no ride queues during ramadan! We were lucky that Real Madrid world opened during our stay and we got access included in our park ticket. - We were able to enjoy house wines, bottled beers and spirits as part of our all inclusive package. You need to ask for the all inclusive drinks menu at each bar to see the full offering. - Would recommend the Dragon Flame Grill as the best park restaurant to eat in. All the rest have limited menus and drinks. - All garden and site was kept clean and tidy with immaculate gardens Negatives: -We were not given our food vouchers for the parks upon check-in. The lady at the park ticket desk told us we just needed to take our emirates accommodation voucher to the restaurants to get our food but this wasn't the case. We had to send one of our party back to the hotel after the rest of us were held hostage in 'The Keg' to get the correct food vouchers to pay for our meal. Please note, you only get one drink each with your meal at The Keg and a very limited food choice. - The lady in the park ticket office told us Real Madrid world wasn't included in our tickets and we'd have to buy tickets but we decided to try our existing tickets at the gate and they worked! I'm glad we didn't make the purchase. - There was confusion for many staff as to what we were permitted to have under the all inclusive package. Some staff happily gave us our drinks but others were trying to make us pay. I would recommend a wristband policy so the staff can easily understand who is entitled to what. - Ari restaurant is a lovely restaurant with a great menu but the staff always seem to be in a muddle. We often received our food before our drinks. It would be better if staff were allocated their own tables to look after rather than everyone trying to service the whole restaurant. - There was no hand sanitiser at the entrance to the restaurants or on the tables. I saw multiple people using their hands to take food from the buffet rather than use the tools provided. It would be good to have signs up at each station reminding people to use the tools rather than their hands which would give a safer food environment to all guests. - Glass bottles of beer were issued to people around the pool areas. It was only plastic glasses that were given out. It would be safer for the bottled drink contents to be poured into a plastic glass if it's going to the pool area for safety reasons. - We mentioned on our booking notes that we had 2 birthdays in our group but we didn't get this request acknowledged - The guy booking the trips at the hotel entrance took up to an hour to book each trip. He was very friendly but it was a low and painful process (missing valuable sunbathing time!). We had already pre-booked our Safari on Viator (Al Khymer camp which I would highly recommend) thank goodness but we booked our boat trip with him. It was ok but not as good as ones I have done in Dubai in the past via Viator. - Sunbeds, there were some days in the first week when there weren't enough sun beds for everyone but I think this was due to the UK guests reserving sun beds they weren't intending to use all day.... Overall I would recommend this hotel and we would visit again, especially during Ramadan when the parks are so empty! Read less
