The hotel

This high-rise hotel is a great base for Boston, featuring all the charms of its historic location. Not satisfied with just being super-central, the Wyndham Beacon Hill has come up with plenty of its own distractions: on top of complimentary WiFi, it offers the artisan-meets-casual-American cooking of The Dean’s List restaurant, and a seasonal swimming pool, complete with a serene sundeck giving you views of Boston and the waterfront.

There were mice in our rooms! You tout yourselves as a wellness hotel preying on those of us who have had stays in the nearby hospitals and are trying to recover and then you compromise our healing by having mice in your hotel. It is very obvious that the hotel is infested with them considering that none of your staff were surprised when we complained. Absolutely disgusting and your staff were barely helpful. My entire stay should have been refunded. Not to mention that when we finally had enough and chose to leave, not one staff member helped us with our luggage outside and into our waiting uber. It was raining, cold, near midnight, and I had just had surgery and was meant to be recovering, not lifting heavy bags in poor weather. When I first made the reservation, I asked if there were microwaves in the room. The booking agent (booked directly through Wyndham, not a third party) assured me that some rooms had them and he would put us down for one. Our room did not have one and when I called the desk to ask, the staff member said that the rooms don't come with microwaves, but that I could rent one for $20 a day. I was swindled by your booking agent. I truly believe that he knew I wouldn't book if I knew there was no microwave. Considering our length of stay and the nature of our stay, being able to eat warm food while recovering was essential. Imagine my surprise when we moved rooms after seeing the first set of mice and finding that there was a microwave in that room. By the valet stand, someone lost their wig/weave and it stayed right there for the entirety of our stay. It was wet and stank and none of the staff thought to remove it. This should have spoken volumes for the level to which they operate here. Your staff and your facility are atrocious and I'll never stay at another Wyndham ever again. If I could, this would be zero stars. Do better. Read less

I had a very pleasant stay here. I needed a place to sleep close to MGH. There were plenty of employees all around to make a single woman feel safe. They do have a restaurant/bar in the lobby and also offer paid parking. The room was very clean and quiet. I would recommend this hotel.

Nice to find a good hotel in the heart of Boston that is reasonably priced. Boston hotels tend to be very expensive and it is refreshing to find one that doesn't break the bank. Friendly, accommodating staff!
