Beautiful place with a private beach. 3 big pools are there for swimming. The restaurant serves great food. The spa is very good with great offers. The villas are great for relaxing. The hotel offers shuttle buses to Lamai or Chaweng.

This hotel is a very convenient hotel with a paradise view on the Ocean. Located accross a small hillside, with nice convenient bungalows within a palm forest is making your stay marvelous. Highlight is how the team is taking care for all your wishes. They are extremely friendly and try to read each which you would have during your stay.

Wonderful stay in a wonderful place. With Centara you know what you get. I usually stay in Centara Udon Thani and so decided to stay in Centara at Samui. We travelled all over the Island. Hard to find a better place. Service and Staff are great. Thank you!

First, I want to say that I travel all the time. I rarely write reviews - it has to be very good or very bad for me to want to say anything. This was not good. First of all, I paid 215000 thb for 2 rooms for 2 nights. I am an American who lives in the middle east and I understand what $150 should get me in Thailand. I have been here tons of times and own houses here. For my husband's birthday, I read reviews online and picked a place I thought would be lovely. Holy crap I was wrong. First, I got the last of the most expensive villas for my husband and myself and rented the second to the most expensive ones for my kids and mom. There was only one Premium Delux sea view private pool villa left and I wanted my husband to have it. It was garbage. It smells like cabins we used to rent in state parks in the states, which is fine for what they are but not fine for a resort. Our pool is cloudy and dirty, the 2 chairs to sit on were dirty, the door won't stay unlocked but they only gave us one key, our bathroom is TINY, the products for the bath are cheap. In my kids' room, the cheaper one, they got a big bathtub in a bathroom with space, the bedroom was set up so much nicer with usable space, it didn't smell bad, it had sunshine over the pool (still cloudy and dirty but not something I recoiled when I looked at it). But the reason mine was more expensive was the view. I will post a pic of the view. The "sea view" was 2 rusted, metal structures, dirt roads and trees. Then there is the food- 5 of us ordered a TON to try everything. It is Christmas day. OMG. The food was HORRIBLE. Pizza- microwaved/frozen or something. Cabanara- rediculously pasty. "cripsy noodles" - It was like the canned chicken chow mein back in my elementary school days. My son got a burger and the "beef" was the illustration of the crap they served us in texas in my youth for 85 cents for school lunch. Calamari- the first horrible squid I have had in my months in this country. OMG it was so chewy you had to swallow it whole. Spring rolls were 2 inches long but didn't taste terrible, so that is one thing. Anyway, Christmas, husband's birthday, we got some drinks. They will rip you off. If you get beer- it is 5 star hotel pricy. If you get liquor, they won't let you see them pour it in and they charge you a crazy amount for bottom shelf. Their "happy hour" for vodka- 220 baht. Buy one get one free- but then they charge you a service charge and a tax that comes up to 570! How the heck is that buy one get one free but you pay more than the cost of 2???? I am so angry right now. I want to leave but I can't. I have pre paid 2 nights in this place. The staff are nice, I will give them credit. I don't want any of them to suffer. Honestly, though, every single place I have been in Thailand has the kindest people working there. That is why I bought a house and am moving here. I love the people and I love the food and atmosphere. This place... wow. Anyway, I tip them and thank them and cant complain to them because what can they do? But the owners/management are cheap and disgraceful and I will be posting on several more sites so maybe I can help someone not fall down this rabbit hole- Look me up- you will not see me doing this to anyone else just to be hateful. But you screwed with my Christmas and my husband's birthday and I am really pissed off. The design of your resort is bad- you can't get anywhere easily and we are walking my mom up and down more stairs than make any sense to get anywhere, your pool has strange sharp drops so people fall and can't get their footing, there is filthy dirt where people are standing barefoot but it is where you eat in the pool area- why is it so gross????- and you charge an arm and a leg. I am so angry right now. I will leave here paying $1000 for 2 nights with everything they are charging on top of the room fees. I just wish I could leave with the feeling that I got my money's worth and I would come back again for the next special occasion. Read less

After missing our holiday in 2020 we were so excited to be going back to our favourite place for our tenth visit. Covid has changed so much in our world. Starting with a two legged flight via Doha, opposed to every other time when we've flown straight through to BKK, which was a pain. The Thailand Pass application process was even more of a pain fir us although I did hear that some applications sailed through.....ours took eight days arriving by email the day before we flew! We were PCR tested at Samui Airport and had to wait for our results in another hotel coupled with the fact that Central didnt reopen until 01 Dec after the Covid closure The first change was a new hotel manager. Por greeted us warmly in the lobby as did the rest of the reception staff.....it felt so good to be 'home again. I think Central have done a fantastic job in retaining all of the amazing staff which give the Villas their heart and soul! It was as if we hadn't been away effectively for two years, the welcome sight of the sea, the smells and sounds. Hiw wed missed them. Our Villa was immaculate as always with a handwritten welcome message from Por the manager.....Nice touch! A quick trip to the beach, bar and pool area confirmed our hopes that nothing had changed, including the F&B manager Anu with her warm welcoming smile. Mam, Pu, Oa, Gung, Ken, way to many staff to list but they were all as genuine, warm and welcoming as ever...some lovely people we are lucky to consider as friends. Chai and Beat kept the glorious private beach as clean and tidy as always and kept us refreshed with cold refreshing drinks. There was a new head chef in town. Although he had been there for many years there was a noticeable difference in the food. Breakfast was comprehensive and well served. The offerings of Thai and western breakfast items were well presented and tasty, more then sufficient to see you through a tough day in Samui! I have reviewed Centara a couple of times previously so I don't want to repeat myself on that front. At the time of our visit the Fisherman's and Baracuda restaurants were closed which was a shame as they added another dining option. Lamai was very different. Quite a few massage places, bars and restaurants closed. However, during the three weeks we were there some shops were reopening after the Covid restrictions. The boxing ring food stalls had also gone as well as the Sunday Market. There were still loads of places to eat though and for the more adventurous, looking in the indoor market and side street food outlets revealed smashing, cheap, authentic Thai food was still available. We found Mamatams to be a very friendly restaurant with good food. My regular gym 'Ultra bodies' was still open which pleased me. So although there is a nice little gym at the hotel for people requiring more gym equipment, Ultra bodies is the place to go. 1000thb for a months membership is exceptional value. For a good gents barber there are two good shops next to Lamai Post office and for ladies there is a good salon on the opposite side as well as a fantastic gel nail bar called Queens. Massage is so easy to find in Lamai as well but one place that stood out for me was Ingtara massage which is litterally 100mtrs from ultra bodies gym going towards the indoor market. The best massage i have ever had. Kai and Rung were both excellent for both my wife and I. Chaweng has been reduced from a vibrant busy holiday town with a cosmopolitan population to a town really struggling. Lots of shops, restaurants, massage parlours, bars and hotels closed. It was such a shame to know that even here the pandemic has ruined people's livelihoods and ruined business's. However like Lamai tourists and locals returning to the town during the three weeks we were there was noticeable so I hope the trend continues and life is once again returned to its heady fantastic normal. All in all another fantastic three weeks in beautiful Samui and Centara villas. One final tip is if you're confident get a scooter from the hotel. It is easily the cheapest and most convenient mode of travel. The bikes are well maintained. Please make sure you wear a helmet, not only for your own health but also on the spot fines are common for neglecting the law. Make sure you have liability insurance and an international driving licence. Both easily achieved. A final thank you to Por and her amazing staff.....cant wait for next years holiday already!
