I have been there already two times (Feb & Nov 2021) and I'll come back again and again for sure. They are amazing. Their staff is so lovely and professional, it's really a French luxury hotel with an outstanding service. You will be amazed by the size of the pool: the largest in the country. It's so big that they made a corner for families and kids and one for adults forbidden to under 18 years old: brilliant. So you are free to relax in the quiet zone or to have fun with your kids. Their spa is amazing, the decor is fabulous and when you enter the lounge you already know that you are going to have a great time. The gym is great and open 24 hours a day! The hotel offer a large choice of boat tours with their own boats and staff. You can join a group or you can book the boat for yourself. We did a private tour with my wife so only 2 people, we had with us the captain, his assistant and a staff in charge of foods, beverages, towels etc. They treated us like the Queen Elizabeth. They have several restaurants (not always open though due to Covid). The southern Thai cuisine (white lotus) is excellent so as the Italian restaurant. The bar offers some of the finest Scottish whiskey and cigars (too bad I quit smoking 4 years ago ^^) The building and rooms are very nice in the typically old Indochina style that I like. I could even write more about this hotel but I'll stop here. I really appreciated both of my stays, and I'll come back this year too I guess. Read less

Stayed over the in last week of December for 3 nights. The hotel overall is very nice, clean and to an extent well maintained. The room we had was great 3rd floor nice view of the grounds/pool, very clean, spacious and what you would expect for a brand of this kind. The pool area is the highlight of this hotel. During our stay we enjoyed the obstacle course, paddle boards and swim up bar (happy hour half price drinks between 3-4) was great. It’s great for adults as well as kids. It was a very friendly atmosphere amongst all the people stay at the hotel and the families. For families this place is ideal and for couples loads as well. Also, there is a separate adults section aswell for the pool area. The bar food was probably our favourite food at the hotel. They make fresh fries, sandwiches, burgers and some Thai dishes. Limited menu but quite good. They offer a lunch buffet for like 550 bht which is actually good lots of food options (but pricey). The breakfast looks like a large spread but lacked options. Overall breakfast is good but nothing that will blow your mind. The on-site restaurant food (Italian) is not good. Overpriced, understaffed, slow service, poor quality of food and they run out of pizza 2 hours before closing both nights we attempted ordering. Overall food 2/5 Also worth noting that taxi’s generally charge a flat rate of 500bht anywhere you go from the hotel. The hotel excursions are double the price if you go with them oppose to finding your own. We done the 4 island speedboat tour (includes phi phi) and it was half the price per person booking independently rather than booking with hotel. The staff are very nice, friendly and try extremely hard to make your stay a good as possible. I would return to the hotel if I was to come to Krabi again. Anyone reading this do not take this as a negative review of the hotel just the food choices need improvement. Overall rating of the hotel would be 4/5. Read less

This was an incredibly disappointing stay mostly due to simply sun standard and awful food and beverage with a director of F&B and Head Chef who clearly couldn't care less. We had ordered food for some excursions and what we got was simply awful and unedible. On the first occasion we showed the staff at the front desk who were horrified and said as much. They promised the next day would be better but what transpired was even worse and bordering on disgraceful. For a luxury brand like Sofitel to present such disgraceful food is unacceptable and for the Executive Chef and F&B manager to not even bother discussing it with the guest just reconfirms why the food is so bad. Breakfast is a 3 star joke and being served raw pancakes and returning them without as much as an apology or an offer to remake them. The new years eve dinner was so over priced to be laughable with the promise of a fantastic buffet failing to deliver. Burgers delivered by room service were burnt to a crisp and rock hard, perhaps that's why it took an hour to arrive. The chefs cannot be competent at any level as no one who cooks would serve such food. Otherwise staff were great and tried hard and the pool was pleasant if you could find somewhere to sit but forget about a drink or any service at the pool area. If you are looking to enjoy a beach then look elsewhere. This is not a resort I would ever return to and the management have a lot to answer for. What a disappointment. Read less

I’m not even sure where to begin. I must admit that I work in hospitality which for sure puts my expectations fairly high and I’ve been living in Thailand for nearly a decade. But I’ve rarely been that disappointed with a hotel experience. Not everything was terrible and clearly some staff are real gems, doing their best despite everything. But from the start, the check in lady was quite rude, it was rushed to a point where she didn’t even take the time to explain the hotel structure (where are the restaurants? The gym? The facilities?) even though we were the only customers at that time. No one walked us to our room or showed us around. The room doesn’t have a directory, no information whatsoever on the golf, spa or f&b, the fridge is empty, no minibar menu, some electrical plugs are not working and there’s barely 20ml of a really chemical shampoo/gel for 2 ppl. The breakfast is a nightmare… the understaffed waiters are running around like headless chickens, you need to ask 3 different ppl to get 1 coffee and it takes 20 minutes … every morning. And the food is barely average. Taxi from the hotel to city center costs over 20$ and you need to wait nearly 45minutes for them to come when there is no traffic… Cherry on the cake, we came back at 11.30pm on the 31st and tried to get a drink …. What a hassle. They had closed their “coupons” system and we had to argue with 3 clueless staff to get 2 drinks on NYE.. unbelievable. Considering the high price we paid because of NYE period, it was really not worth it and clearly not up to Sofitel standard or any 5-star hotel. Read less

Our stay at Sofitel Krabi was a wonderful experience. Beautiful surroundings, excellent food (chapeau (new) Chef and Team) and most importantly very kind and warm and friendly. A special compliment for general manager Jonathan Rudd who went out of his way to make us feel welcome. An unfortunate misunderstanding about non allergenic bedding was quickly solved and forgotten after which we could enjoy the amazing festivities organised for New Year. Thank you again Team Sofitel.
