Close to the beach, close to restaurants. There is a pattern here of indifference and customer service in America. One or two, but as can be the case, it`s the one or two that will ruin it for the others. It wouldn`t hurt for a few of them to crack a smile and engage with a customer. Hence the poor rating.

I travel about 60 days a year on business and for pleasure. I’ve always held my loyalty to the Marriott brand. I have stayed at Marriott properties from London and Venice to small town America. The services received and experienced were not what I expect from a Marriott managed property. Days Inn? Maybe I have never experienced an attitude of indifference from the staff as I experienced here. Maybe it’s because this is more of a “tourist” property rather than a “business” property. However, that is not an excuse. In my opinion, Marriott is a brand in and of itself. All properties, no matter the location, should strive to meet the expected level of service. What did I experience that makes my review what it is? 1. To ensure that this was the best vacation ever, I booked a corner suite with panoramic view a year in advance. The rate I got that far in advance was $3xx a night vs. $5xx + a night at last minute. When I arrived, I was given a King suite. When I went downstairs, they tried to comp “upgrade” me to a lesser value room. The last minute rate for the room I got is only $164. WTH? Nothing from the front desk. Now, the front desk personnel cannot perform magic and make rooms appear. However, a little empathy and a price adjustment to a Lifetime Elite could have gotten a little mileage out me. 2. At 8:10AM on Saturday morning, I went to the Concierge Desk to schedule transportation to the Cruise Port on Sunday. The sign at the Concierge Desk said hours were from 8 - 5. Desk was empty. I stood around for a couple of minutes with staff staring at me. I finally asked them if they were the Concierge, they just said No and that the Concierge might be available at 8:30AM. I didn’t expect them to perform the Concierges job, but they could have approached me and asked if they could be of help instead of just staring at me. Hope this helps management make decisions on future training needs and also helps future customers on the hotel choices. Respectfully, Kelly Lawrence Read less

Unfortunately, I have been very disappointed by Marriott and this hotel. I have been a loyal gold customer for many years and frequently stay at their properties all over the world. I had booked to stay at this hotel on April 12, the day before a cruise that I was going on with my family. I had used points to help defray the costs. Unfortunately on April 11 my wife became very ill with a recurring blood disorder and was hospitalized all day on April 12. We had to cancel our April 12 plans and fly in on April 13. Since I could not make the stay and even though I explained to Marriott the situation, they charged me a cancellation fee of $642.97. I was told by the hotel manager that I should have taken out travel insurance. As a loyal member and frequent guest, I was very disappointed. I would suggest that others take their business elsewhere as the attitude and fairness of this hotel was not what I would expect toward a frequent guest of the Marriott hotels. Read less

Hotel was nice. Within walking distance to everywhere and across from the beach. This was my second time there and I'll be going back next year. Very good prices also. stay here and even if you want a really nice restaurant, it's only like 10 bucks for an Uber or taxi close by.

What a great hotel! Close to everything, on site bistro, seafood restaurant, and Starbucks! The corner suite view of the ocean was beautiful! Wish I could have stayed longer. The front desk and valet got me in with zero wait on a busy Friday night. Can't wait until next time!
