The hotel

They’ve wrapped glorious sands, world-famous sightseeing, and creature comforts into one neat little package at Courtyard by Marriott Cocoa Beach Cape Canaveral, just minutes from Kennedy Space Center. As well as home comforts like free WiFi, they’ve added homely spaces – like ‘Media Pods’, where you can catch the news as you eat breakfast; the Bistro’s ‘living room’, where you can watch the game during happy hour; and the terrace, where you can curl up around the firepit in Adirondack chairs.

We were using the Courtyard Marriot as a layover before a cruise out of Port Canaveral and I was pleasantly surprised by the property. We reserved a large room with two beds, a foldout couch, and a pack-n-play for the baby using points that we earned through their reward program. We didn't have any trouble getting the dates we needed nor the location. The room was very clean and had everything that you would expect in a Marriot, including the coffee and tea the room. We were late getting in and had called while on the road to let them know that we would be checking in late. We were worried that they wouldn't have the pack-n-play in our room because we were checking in so late, but everything was there as we requested. The hotel caters for the cruise crowd and let's you park your car in their parking lot while you're on the cruise for ~$15 per day and they have a shuttle to each cruise ship. Just remember to keep your coupon with you for the return trip or you'll have to pay again. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a cafe and dining area next to the lobby and you can order breakfast, lunch, & dinner there but the prices are a bit steep. They also post upcoming launch schedules for the space enthusiasts. Read less

I'm an Elite member with Marriott and make it a point to stay at Marriott owned properties. This was by far the worst hotel in general (Marriott owned or not) that I've ever stayed in. I'm an Elite member with Marriott and make it a point to stay at Marriott owned properties. This was by far the worst hotel in general (Marriott owned or not) that I've ever stayed in. We booked using points for one night in June 2019. Upon entering the hotel the lobby looks pretty nice. It has obviously been renovated. That is where the compliments stop.Once we got to our room we were extremely disappointed. We were on the 6th floor and the rooms need a MAJOR overhaul. Everything was outdated. The carpet was bad/dirty. The tub had mold or rust or something on the bottom. The shower head sprayed everywhere. The beds were the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept on. We spoke to the front desk and they refunded our points and gave us complimentary breakfast so they did try to make a bad situation better which I appreciated. But then for breakfast...Well the workers that take your order for breakfast were extremely rude. One was pregnant so maybe she was having a hard day but still no excuse to be rude. The food took over 45 minutes to come out. When I asked if this was usual, I got a cocky reply of yep, we're busy. My food was cold but I seriously did not have another 45 minutes to waste as we were heading to Disney World. My 2 daughters couldn't believe we were staying there. They're younger still but they even asked why I booked this dump and asked to never come back again. The one good thing I can say is although they aren't really ocean front, it does have a nice little walkway right to the beach. I highly recommend staying anywhere else but here if you are used to the typical Marriott properties. It does not meet there normal high standards at all. Read less

We stayed here for a few nights on a quick getaway. Pros: Beach is just a short walk. There is a Starbucks breakfast bar to order food and drinks. We ate breakfast one morning and it was surprisingly good. They do have a restaurant, but we decided to eat elsewhere as I read another review that said it wasn't great. We ate breakfast one morning and it was surprisingly good. They do have a restaurant, but we decided to eat elsewhere as I read another review that said it wasn't great. The location of the hotel was convenient. Cons: The food was a bit pricey. No beautiful views. Parking was $6.99 a day - that's not too bad. The pool needed to be cleaned. The A/C in our room did not work very well. Overall, not a bad place. In hindsight, I wish I would've spent the extra money for a beachfront hotel. Read less

I had my wedding at this hotel. I wanted to have my wedding on the beach so I picked this hotel to have the reception. The staff was awesome and super helpful. Clean, nice staff, nice food/bev selection at lobby bar and longer hours than other locations, which was appropriate for resort area. However this is NOT a resort, beachside does not mean on the beach, and the pool area was cramped with just a tiny tiki bar (good margarita though!) Rooms are comfortable but several walls have no art, just grey, and a double queen could use more hooks in room and in bath areas to accommodate large party’s items, towels, etc. Read less
