The Shores Resort & Spa

Daytona Beach, Gold Coast Beaches

The hotel

The Shores Resort & Spa makes the most of its first-class setting on the white sands of Daytona Beach. Its oceanfront deck plays host to a pool, Jacuzzi, tiki bar, comfy cabanas, and fire cauldrons, where you can toast marshmallows for beachside s’mores as evening draws in. And the hotel’s restaurant, Azure, also exploits its location: you can enjoy its fine dining menu on its beachfront terrace. To give you the true Daytona Beach experience, this luxury spa hotel has also teamed up with recreation providers like Pure Life Surf School, giving you discounted surfing lessons, and LPGA International, offering special rates at their golf courses. And it’s paired up with The Oceans Racquet and Recreation Club, so you can enjoy facilities like tennis courts for free.

The Shores is a top 3, if not the best , resort in Daytona Beach. Fabulous outdoor pool, tikki bar and atmosphere during the day that turns into a nice place to eat and spend the evening at night. We had a terrace room which was amazing. The room itself was bit on the small side however the balcony and terrace more than made up for it. The views… Read more

Clinton was awesome! Please keep him forever. Apparently I have to continue with unnecessary praise, although the first sentence sums it up. Attentive. Accommodating. Works well under pressure. Dealt with me. 10/10 recommend. R

We visited the resort as things were starting to re-open after Covid-19. For that reason many things were closed within the resort. The spa, restaurant, fitness center, lobby bar were all closed. The tiki bar was open with reduced hours and offered a very limited menu. The resort did allow local restaurants to deliver to your room. Valet parking was also not available. The staff worked very hard to make the best of the situation. They had hand sanitizing stations dispersed throughout and the staff was always cleaning. They did not clean the room during our stay, but would deliver anything (towels, amenities etc.) to your door if requested. The resort usually has a $21.00 daily resort fee and a $17.00 per night self parking fee (plus tax). These fees were waived. Our room, a king cabana room, was very clean and comfortable. It had a huge walk-in closet and a pull out sofa. It contained plenty of storage space as well as very comfortable furniture on the patio. The room was situated right next to the pool, but with the sliding glass door closed it was very quiet. The resort has a great location right on the beach. They have a nice heated pool and hot tub. It is a great place for couples or families. We have already reserved a room for our next visit. Read less

Room is aged and needs a revamp. Hallways are a bit musty and could stand to be aired out. Front desk staff was helpful and Lou was exceptional. Tiki bar and indoor Starbucks/gift shop always had a long line. Best deal was the $35 for the day use of the oceanfront cabana & free parking. Steps leading down to the ocean were never rinsed off or… Read more

My family has visited The Shores for about 10 years. The gem that we once called our getaway is gone. This makes me so sad. So disappointed in our stay. My family has visited The Shores for about 10 years. The gem that we once called our getaway is gone. This makes me so sad. So disappointed in our stay. They better step up the cleanliness and rules if they think this hotel will continue to be 4 stars. I did not see that this weekend. Employees are nice but very understaffed. They should not of opened so many rooms being this understaffed. Pool was filthy! Pool area was gross. Windows had prints everywhere. Bathroom off lobby had paper towels all over the floor. People smoking on balconies. At least two by our room constantly smoked so we could smell it in our room. I complained, nothing was done. Drunk couple fighting by our friends room. They reported it, nothing done. Finally video recorded outside the room and took to employees at check in. ONE elevator working for the entire resort on Saturday. They have three in case you are wondering. Note outside elevator said to respect social distancing! Ha! People blasting their own distasteful music. Even in the lobby of the hotel. If you stayed in the past, this is not the same gem it used to be! Read less
