Casa Monica Hotel

St Augustine, Gold Coast Beaches

The hotel

Restored to its 1888 glory, and registered in the National Trust Historic Hotels of America, this Moorish castle-like landmark is a very special place to stay. With authentic period features and decor, you really will feel like you have taken a step back into yesteryear. This hotel was the hang-out of aristocracy and royalty; inside, it's all tapestries, velvet and chandeliers, with top-class dining and discreet service. It's in the heart of the Historic District, where you'll find boutiques, antique shops, museums and more. The Poseidon Spa is a great addition to this luxurious hotel and provides the perfect place for some relaxation and pampering.

Having said that, we truly enjoyed our time. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. They all made extra effort to make us feel safe and well cared for! This was our second time staying at the Casa Monica and the hotel met everyone’s needs with smiles and wonderful attitudes during a difficult time and circumstances. We will be back! Read less

Visited the spa and pool area. Very serine and clean. Lovely pool with jacuzzi close by. Nice, big cabanas to lay in. The spa massage was euphoric. Would love to stay here but the prices were a little steep.

WOW - what a pleasant surprise to see a hotel that actually surpasses its advertising. Everyone was so helpful and the room was outstanding. We did not use the hotel for food - good places to eat morning, noon and evening that are within walking distance of the hotel. We woudl definitley stay here next trip to St. Augustine.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Casa Monica Resort for a weekend get-away for the first time in quite awhile. Beautiful, classic hotel! We had a glass of wine in the lobby before our dinner and our waitress, who was a local, gave us a good history of the hotel and its past lives. The room was a little small, and the King we signed up for was a Queen, but otherwise was comfortable and we had a good nights' sleep. The only downside was when we checked in. It was obvious the young man checking us in was fairly new as another desk agent was looking over his shoulder and helping. The 2nd agent took over and was very irritated, which showed. She tried to run my credit card and actually reversed the charge and in front of the whole front desk announced "Your card is being declines (we later called Amex and they told us the front desk improperly ran our card)." It was like she went out of her way to embarrass us. Nice hotel, otherwise. Very efficient Valet service. Read less
