Awesome Tiki bars and restaurants within walking. Check-in was great with Alice, Nancy and Melissa there to help. Alice's advice on where to go for food or fun was always right on. She even checked on ways to upgrade or enhance our stay. Excellent service, professionalism and caring attention was given throughout the stay. Security Professional, Erik, really saved the day for me after I accidentally left my favorite dress clothes in a drawer. When I called to inquire, Erik's attention, persistence and empathy solved my problem and was able to return all my items. I am overjoyed with my stay and experiences at Rumfish. Can't wait to return. Read less

We came to Rumfish to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Though the hotel, amenities and staff were up to par as with our previous visits, the chaos associated with an upcoming private event really dampened our enthusiasm. We were given no warning about the tents blocking beach views, ongoing noise and extra workers, extremely difficult parking, etc. The bars and restaurants closed down prior to our last day due to this event. We were offered a "special deal" for our inconvenience, but turns out it was a sales pitch for their vacation rentals. We were then offered another deal for a future stay. If we decide to stay again, I hope they will honor that. The Rum Fish is an expensive place to stay, but the beach is amazing, pools clean and overall property clean. The staff are amazing. Shout-out to Alis and Mike at the front desk, Denise at the Gulf Side Grill, and bartenders Patrick, Edward, David and Chris. Many of the regular staff were put on leave or assigned other duties during this private event. Though very discreet, you can tell the entire hotel staff was not happy about the upheaval the event caused. We hope this review will help the Rum Fish realize the mistake they made choosing a private event over regular (often repeat) customers. We have loved coming there, but may not return due to our recent visit. Read less

We booked this hotel based off the activities the resort its self had to offer. The pools and beach front were a big hit with the kids along with the big slide. Cortez and Rachel were amazing with their pool side service and hospitality. Upon arriving we noticed construction and a big event (with no notice when booking the room or on the resorts website when checking out the area) making parking a nightmare and a half. Waking up at 7:30am to a drill going off by the construction crew was not on my list of ways to be woken up on vacation, silly of me to think I would be able to sleep in. The rooms were outdated - Every time the people above us turned on a shower my child asked what that noise was due to how loud it was thinking that water was actually coming into the room (we also were awoken by that at 1:30am) Mike at the front desk was amazing with other recommendations on where to go eat and actually showed empathy regarding looking for other options since the restaurant at the hotel that did breakfast was still closed down the next day due to getting ready for an event. If there ever is a next time, I will do better on checking out the resort and what is happening there just so I am more prepared or so I can choose to go elsewhere. The kids still had a blast and memories were made. At the end of the day everyone was happy - just a little more inconvenient than wanting for a vacation. The resort did make everything right and handled everything properly and professionally (Mike at front desk from Lincoln Illinois - you are the MVP) Read less

We ate several meals at the Gulfside Grill and Denise was our waitress. She was so friendly, efficient, always had a smile on her face and we enjoyed having her as our server. Please make sure when you go there you ask for Denise.

We just returned from a spring break trip and we stayed on the RumFish side of the TradeWinds Resort. The resort is on a beautiful stretch of beach with lots of wonderful activities for kids. It was nice to stay on the quieter RumFish side of the resort and have access to the amenities at Island Grand. We felt that this provided some downtime for the kids and allowed us to space out all of the activities. Every staff member that we encountered on both sides of the resort was wonderful and accommodating. We also had a few room issues that were promptly addressed. The hotel and the surrounding grounds are very clean as well. The downside to the resort is that the rooms are extremely outdated with obvious signs of wear and tear. The food is also mediocre at best. All in all, we had a lovely vacation but would reconsider a return trip due to the condition of the rooms. Read less
