Marco Beach Ocean Resort

Marco Island, Naples and Marco Island

The hotel

Surrounded by the breathtaking backdrop of the Gulf of Mexico, the Marco Beach Ocean Resort offers a sublime retreat from everyday life. The hotel is located on a sugar soft beach with its azure waters offering an incredible variety of aquatic pursuits including snorkelling, windsurfing and sailing. All suites are luxuriously appointed, featuring fully-equipped kitchens, a balcony with views of the ocean or garden terraces. For the health conscious, there’s a fully-equipped fitness centre on the 4th floor or head up to the 5th floor to splash about in the rooftop pool. As you’re on holiday, you’ve every excuse to pamper yourself, so a trip to the hotel’s spa is a must. An impressive palette of treatments will soothe weary muscles and banish stress, leaving you feeling utterly relaxed. The concierge will be happy to arrange golf, tennis and charter sailing if you wish, all conveniently close by. If you’re a foodie, you’re in luck. Sale e Pepe is an award-winning restaurant specialising in fine dining Italian cuisine. The chef and his team create from scratch everyday a Piemontese-orientated menu (northern Italian with French influences) rounded out by signature dishes from many of Italy’s distinctive regions. Within Sale e Pepe is The Saletta, a more casual eatery with cafe-style seating. There’s also The Terrace with all-day alfresco dining and picture postcard views. After dinner, retire to Toulouse, an intimate and sophisticated lounge that pays homage to the Belle-Epoque era of Paris and the great artist, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.

My husband and I just returned from Marco Beach Ocean Resort and I cannot say enough good things about our stay. This was our first time staying at this resort so I didn’t know what to expect and I was REALLY concerned about COVID protocols since this was our first trip since lockdown. Super impressed by the cleanliness of everywhere in the resort: restaurants, room, elevators you name it...spotless. Every staff member we encountered was so friendly: bellmen/doormen, front desk, bartenders and beach staff worked their butts off during our stay. Housekeeping came twice a day and were responsive to any requests we had. The kitchenette in the room was also a great addition. If you’re thinking about booking here do it! We had an ocean front room, 1010. Incredible views! Read less

However, as an experienced traveler in higher end resorts, I know what to expect and this property is WAY overpriced for the quality they are providing. The couch was dirty, we had a lot of ants in kitchen, and the air conditioning kept resetting to 68 degrees. The entire room really needed to be refurbished. The second day of our stay, the coffee was not restocked. On the plus side, the pool was the perfect temperature and all the staff were very nice. The food at the pool bar was very good. Read less

Paid for an ocean front view with a soaker tub and we are so far back from the beach all we can hear his kids playing in the pool. And the room had no tub. We also asked for a late check out and weren’t accommodated. It’s super old-school and definitely not a high-end hotel. You may want to go to the Marriott.
