Marco Beach Ocean Resort

Marco Island, Naples and Marco Island

The hotel

Surrounded by the breathtaking backdrop of the Gulf of Mexico, the Marco Beach Ocean Resort offers a sublime retreat from everyday life. The hotel is located on a sugar soft beach with its azure waters offering an incredible variety of aquatic pursuits including snorkelling, windsurfing and sailing. All suites are luxuriously appointed, featuring fully-equipped kitchens, a balcony with views of the ocean or garden terraces. For the health conscious, there’s a fully-equipped fitness centre on the 4th floor or head up to the 5th floor to splash about in the rooftop pool. As you’re on holiday, you’ve every excuse to pamper yourself, so a trip to the hotel’s spa is a must. An impressive palette of treatments will soothe weary muscles and banish stress, leaving you feeling utterly relaxed. The concierge will be happy to arrange golf, tennis and charter sailing if you wish, all conveniently close by. If you’re a foodie, you’re in luck. Sale e Pepe is an award-winning restaurant specialising in fine dining Italian cuisine. The chef and his team create from scratch everyday a Piemontese-orientated menu (northern Italian with French influences) rounded out by signature dishes from many of Italy’s distinctive regions. Within Sale e Pepe is The Saletta, a more casual eatery with cafe-style seating. There’s also The Terrace with all-day alfresco dining and picture postcard views. After dinner, retire to Toulouse, an intimate and sophisticated lounge that pays homage to the Belle-Epoque era of Paris and the great artist, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this unbelievable property with the finest of service, spectacular grounds and amazing food. I can not say enough about my experience only to say if you want an experience of total paradise this is the place.

I would recommend this place. We were out of season and it was very quiet. Our room was beautiful facing the gulf on the 12th floor. The loungers/umbrellas on the beach were super comfortable. I would love to go back!

Beautiful hotel on the beach. Not too large. Staff is extremely friendly. All rooms are suites with balcony. Returned here many times with friends. Prices are better when compared to other nearby hotels.

I visited Marco Beach Resort in August with my family after reading the reviews and it supposedly being 3rd best in Marco Island...couldn't be further from the truth in reality unless the rest are REALLY BAD. The Pros..our room was nice..a good size for three people and the decor and standard was very good. The resort was also kept clean. The Car valet staff were also very pleasant..they were the only ones. The cons...In the US service I am used to is usually very good..not the case with this hotel. There was a noticeable difference the way locals were treated and us foreigners. Bar staff resented having to serve drinks...as if it was a chore and got really grumpy when I added service to the room charge and not in cash..they were lucky to get any service tip at all. Happy hour was a joke..they only served a very limited number of cocktails (about 3 I think) and were really poor quality. We chose to take our custom elsewhere on the island for both food and drink. As for the beach staff..the racket they were running was ridiculous. It was supposed to be first come first served..as we were jet lagged we were often first on the beach only to be greeted by towels with fake belongings put on them by the Beach staff..They told us off for touching the belongings (some were on there for hours)..when people did turn up the belongings miraculously disappeared (for example an elderly couple in there 80's with no children having baby beach toys on the bed). they would then hand over cash to the beach staff for what I can assume is holding their beds. the beach staff (with the exception of Michael who we only saw for a day or so who was lovely and had a real passion for the beach) were abrupt and rude and we were made to feel very unwelcome. The room cleaning was inconsistent and didn't clean the bath for 3 days, some days they didn't turn up so had to contact reception. The hotel concierge was virtually non-existent..really no help navigating the local area. We were forced to pay a valet charge for parking the car in a near empty hotel that we were not told about until arrival. Just nickel and dimed and every opportunity. There was zero entertainment (except for the storms)...nothing to do and not suitable for children I definitely would not go back..never has a hotel I've been to been so unwelcoming Read less

From the tent we arrived, the valet team greeted us graciously and anticipated our check-in needs. They swiftly took our bags and car and explained the valet process. Once inside, the reception team welcomed us warmly and were always helpful whenever we had questions. The grounds are well maintained and gorgeous. Our room was spacious, beautiful, clean and very comfortable. They have a turndown service which was nice to experience after dinner. Beach chairs and umbrellas available guests after 9am to dusk. All of the staff was professional and efficient, treating all of their guests like royalty. We had dinner at Sale e Pepe. We were sadly disappointed. First, we requested an outdoor table and were denied because they were booked, however during our meal, we noticed there were three unoccupied tables. Secondly, our meals were salty and the portions are small. Our servers and bar tenders were efficient, but not as friendly as the other staff we encountered. Overall, we were thrilled with our stay. we look forward to visiting again. Read less
