Describing itself as a ‘lifestyle hotel’, it’s the dazzling creation of renowned architects and designers from Miami, LA and New York. Framing Miami and Biscayne Bay views, its floor-to-ceiling windows and oversized balconies aren’t just reserved for the suites, every room gets them. And every guest gets treats like the pool deck, with its lap pool, spa pool, plunge pool and hot tub; the Uruguayan ‘parilla’ grill at its Quinto La Huella restaurant; and South East Asian-inspired tapas with a view at Sugar, the 40th floor rooftop bar. Back down on terra firma, there’s more dining – as EAST sits above the swanky Brickell City Centre mall, packed with entertainment, shops and restaurants.

Let’s start by saying that we booked this hotel based on the reviews for the pool and the cleanliness of the hotel. For that alone I would have given a perfect 5 stars as we love the pool area and the hotel is in fact up to my standards for cleanliness. A few misses were definitely the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. There were four employees upon pulling up to the front area and as we exited our Lyft with our luggage they continued their conversation instead of asking if we were checking in and helping with luggage like most normal hotels. I will note this was the standard as the several times we entered and exited the hotel they were always conversing versus focusing on the guests entering/ exiting which usually bell/valet staff is utilized to help open doors and greet guests. Also when we left the same thing happened where there was 3-4 employees chatting instead of helping people open the doors as they are carrying multiple pieces of luggage. I do have to highlight there was one exceptional employee named Edgar (hopefully I remembered his name correctly) who definitely was a great asset to the team with his friendly and personable service. He was assigned to help us move rooms and we also saw him when we checked our luggage at the bell desk upon check out. He was polite and made our experience better when we saw him just with his friendly approach. He should be used to train the other team members. The rooms: Nice and clean. A few things we didn’t really care for the high tech lighting system but wouldn’t detour us from staying again. The showers are amazing and make it easy for for those with younger children as they have the handheld sprayer. In the room the closet was off track in one of the rooms. Also only one hairdryer for two bathrooms is somewhat of a hassle. We didn’t call since we were only there for a few days and didn’t mind but more than a few days or if there was more than 2 people needing to blow dry their hair I would recommend 2 hair dyers for a two bedroom. Pool: loved it!! Great space and well planned out area. Again would probably book again because of the pool area. Super relaxing and pretty good pool food and drinks 🍹 The area is very close to many restaurants and connected to the mail which is also nice. All in all I would recommend the EAST. Read less

East is a nice hotel but has a lot of work to do. Firstly the room, the bathroom is part of the room only a glass wall (not fully frosted) around the toilet. Ok if staying alone but not for sharing. The lighting in the room isn’t sufficient, very dark. Also the controls for the lights don’t work half the time, numerous occasions sitting in the… Read more

The lighting in the room isn’t sufficient, very dark. Also the controls for the lights don’t work half the time, numerous occasions sitting in the room and lights all shut off themselves. Balcony with the room is a plus but it’s not private at all, if your neighbour is also out you’re too close for comfort. The pool area is small and shaded in most parts all day, no real music (apart from feint background music) or atmosphere at the pool at all. One real gripe I had was returning to the hotel on fri & sat eve, being mistaken for guests of sugar bar at the front door and even getting out of the elevator on our own floor, staff that were getting off the same floor were directing us to the bar instead, while it’s nice they try to make sure strangers don’t roam the hotel just annoying when you’re a guest and having to almost prove it. If I return to Miami I likely would check out another hotel in the area. Read less

Great location and roof top bar. Hotel rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Very modern elevator system. It has an entrance elevator right to Brickell city center shopping which was amazing. The only thing that rubbed us the wrong way was the front bell men. They were rude to us when asking about a luggage cart. Oh well.

Nice, upscale hotel. Good restaurant and pretty rooftop bar. But the bar is small and gets crowded. There's an indoor bar on the same top floor that its a better bet. Pool area is nice enough as well. Its location is excellent and it's attached to Brickell City Center, which is an extremely large mall. Besides the mall, it is easy to walk around… Read more
