It's like a room from the W Hotel had a mid life crisis and moved to Marina Del Rey to become the third wheel in a first-time polyamorous relationship. There are mirrors everywhere, including the ceiling, that serve to remind you that if you're not wearing something leather or you don't have a moustache you may be woefully out of place. Overall: I'd definitely stay here again. Read less

This elegant, happening, modern, quiet boutique 5 star hotel boasts some of the nicest rooms and best service in any city. Our room was spacious and well appointed, the staff was truly amazing and the amenities including a great pool, sauna and steam and wonderful gym were first rate. It was our 13th anniversary and we were treated to champagne and drinks as well as an amazing meal at fi'lia, their wonderful bistro style Italian eatery. We would like to shout out some of the amazing staff including Deniz Budak, the front desk manager, Rima Khalil, the manager of fi'lia restaurant, Daniel and Simona our servers at breakfast and dinner and Anthony, our bartender at the wonderful SAAM LOUNGE on the mezzanine level which is a spot everyone should visit while staying at this marvelous hotel. Well worth it. Read less

As others have written before: This isn't really a hotel. And you truly feel this because the staff isn't hospitality trained nor service oriented. Example? This guy José from reception (if that's even his real name - they don't wear nametags) gave me the wrong room when checking in yesterday. This guy José from reception (if that's even his real name - they don't wear nametags) gave me the wrong room when checking in yesterday. One that is tiny, has a smallish bed and a tiny desk with no nearby power outlet. And that is at the end of what feels like an endless, creepy corridor. When I confronted José on another issue today, his response was laughter, rather than being helpful. I give two stars (not one) because the gym is fantastic. But this will be my first and last stay at this wannabe-hotel. Read less

One has certain expectations when staying at an SLS. A comfortable quiet room, with impeccable service. If you stay at this location make sure your room is not located across from the bar on Miami ave. The bass beat kept us up till 4:30 am. We were accommodated with a change in room the next day but no mea culpas or perks for a lost nights sleep. When entering there was no doorman. There was also a paucity of staff for a supposed 5 star hotel. At the pool, a guest brought his own boombox and decided to seranade the area. It took several complaints and still failed to resolve the issue. He should have been asked to leave the area (lack of staff). SLS needs to step up its game to keep up with its South beach location. BTW brunch was delicioso. Read less
