Greetings! Honestly I was a bit concerned about this hotel after reading the recent reviews. However, I'm glad we stayed here. We stayed for 5 days and had a good time up on the 13th floor with a balcony. We ate a few times down in the restaurant with no issues. BUGS - someone before mentioned lagoon bugs. We experienced no such thing. REMODEL - Some people mentioned the hotel was in need of a remodel because it was outdated. Well...there was a remodel outside going on. The interior is nice but it could be updated I guess. CUSTOMER SERVICE - I saw a few complaints about customer service but we experienced no issues. Everyone went out of their way to greet us and help us. The housekeeping staff was on point. The restaurant people engaged us with conversation. Again. No issues My only complaint is that this hotel was not on the beach. Guess the hotel has a magic wand that won't happen. That is not their fault. Read less

We stayed at this Hotel for four days in July 2019. For our visit overall I would have rated the hotel perhaps a 4. We stayed at this Hotel for four days in July 2019. For our visit overall I would have rated the hotel perhaps a 4. The reason why I'm rating it a 1 is because of a tragic incident that occurred to my Autistic 6-year-old son and the reaction the staff had to it: At about 6 PM, on July 18th, my son was inside the Hotel pool and I noticed he started screaming and came out of the water dripping blood from his toe. I quickly grabbed him and took him to the lobby while trying to hold his toe with a towel at an attempt to stop the bleeding. At the front end we asked for assistance. It took them about three minutes to simply provide us with bandaids that did not work because my son's cut was too wide. Meanwhile he kept bleeding all over the floor and the rest of the staff just remained standing there talking like nothing was happening. Never offered to call 911 or to go bring our car from the balet. To top everything off, when we told the guy who was supposely sent to help us to just go bring our car since the bleeding was getting more intense, he told us to wait! Because he needed to clean the floor! And he proceeded to do so while I was holding my screaming agonizing son two feet from him, intensively bleeding because of their unsafe pool. I walked towards the rest of the staff still standing there like nothing was happening and firmly demanded my car. When it arrived is when the asked me if I wanted to call 911. I didn't answer and took my son to the emergency room myself. We wasted 8 minutes at the front, where despite my efforts to contain the bleeding, my son was pouring blood intensively. We spent about 5 hours at the hospital. My son's cut was about an inch wide and he lost a good chunk of tissue under his right big toe. He will not be able to walk for two weeks according to the doctor. They believe it was caused by a loose metal or tile due to the nature of the cut. They also estimated his loss of blood at about a quarter of a liter. When we got back to the Hotel, no one from the management staff called us to ask how our son was. Even after we reported the situation to Hilton International and Honors. From the balcony in our room we noticed that they had blocked the area where the injury occurred with caution tape and they had closed the pool. We were the only ones at the pool when this happened, the only reason they could have known about the area where it happened is if they knew something was wrong with it before hand. Furthermore, very early the next morning I saw a staff member repairing the area for about 30 minutes and filmed it. He was looking over his shoulder the entire time to make sure he wasn't seen, they didn't anticipate I would record it from the balcony. It was me who had to call the manager the next day and asked him what they would do to make this right since it was their fault everything that happened. I made clear that I did not want to go the legal route, just wanted them to take responsability for the tragic event and their unprofessional and heartless reaction. He was mildly rude, telling me if we chose to go with a lawyer he couldn't talk to me anymore and that pretty much there was nothing he could do. That I was going to receive a call from the Safety manager later that day. The safety manager met me and said he didn't think anything was wrong with the pool since no other guests had complained. I then showed him the video I took of the repairs being done. He wasn't expecting that. He didn't respond. Just offered a free night for the inconvenience. I laughed and left since I had already paid $1000 the day before at the hospital due to their negligence. In summary, the hotel staff not only created or failed to repair a hazard at the pool that cut part of my son's toe, reacted to the situation in a very unprofessional manner and never asked us how our son was, but they deliverately lied and tried to cover the evidence in an attempt to not be liable for their actions. Shameful and sad. Read less

My experience at this Hotel was terrible. There were lagoon bugs flying in my room as well as quite a few dead ones on the drapes. The Hotel Staff/Management was notified they stated "of its just lagoon bugs, they dont bite." Very non nonchalantly as if it was normal. It may be normal in Miami, its not normal where I come from.
