Kimpton EPIC Hotel

The hotel

Epic by name and epic by nature, the Kimpton Epic sits along the water’s edge, overlooking the glistening Biscayne Bay. Take a dip into one of the two rooftop pools, and sip on a cocktail in your private poolside cabana. I would honestly like to start off by thanking Jovanny Lopez the engineer of the place for being the most professional and helping gentleman there through the whole experience. Ericka the GM was super sweet to answer all of our questions. The pool is amazing. Their options for dine in are spectacular with Area 31 having a view of Brickell. Everything done in the area with Uber in minutes, traffic is bad so I recommend it. The view from the suite was to die for. Even the bathroom has a balcony! Everything screamed 5 stars the staff was on point there could possibly be nothing I can find to really complain about. I will tell you, do not complain about pricing if you decide to choose this hotel, it is expensive but the experience is well worth it I can promise you that. I’m definitely coming back!! Read less

My second stay here in less than a month. The hotel staff is excellent. Especially front desk receptionist Melissa. Also Gabriel who helped me resolve an unfortunate situation in which I did not have consistently working air conditioning for two of the three nights. I was given dollar credit and IHG points for this inconvenience as the hotel was booked. As stated in earlier reviews, the location and views are stunning. The only other pesky inconvenience was that myself and other guests often struggled with getting the elevator to accept our room keys so we could push the respective floor for the elevator to function. Trips to the front desk almost every day to reprogram the key! Strange. Other than those two things, I would have given this hotel 5 stars. Excellent staff! Read less

Unfortunately we had a family emergency and we're not able to make the trip but Kimpton was very understanding and issued a full refund. Unlike other hotels who might insist on keeping our deposit we we're very thankful they didn't give us a hard time. We will definitely be staying here next time we're in Miami! Thank you so much! Highly Recommend.

I came looking to relax but the stay at the epic was the most stressful part of the trip. There was mold in the shower, that we had to actually ask more than once to be cleaned and it still wasn't. There was a leak in the bathroom, that when we reported they had the audacity to blame on my handicap mother. There were two drains in the shower, one of them didn't work like it was supposed to and caused an overflow somehow. But clearly there was a problem before we arrived, hence the mold. We asked for housekeeping to come and change the bedding They made the bed to make it appear they did, but it was the same sheets because my makeup was still on the top sheet. The only parking was valet parking at almost 50 a night. That is fine and well but when one of us is handicap, we can't wait over an hour over when the car was said to be ready, with no sitting space outside. Our very first night the refrigerator wouldn't stay cold enough to keep my water and insulin in. Upon calling the front desk we were told the refrigerators in the room were not designed to keep things cold? No coffee pots in the room either. Yes you can come down for coffee at their designated time, but I drink hot tea and he ad counted on it to boil the water. I work at the #1 hotel in my major city back home and seeing how this was handled was unreal to me. Especially the disgusting shower that is for someone with special needs. I myself had just had surgery and my first shower was with black mold. Now for the good, because there was good. The bellmen who moved our room and the maintenance man who brought us a different refrigerator were excellent. They were kind and understanding, and had the caliber of hospitality I have come to expect, because that is how I treat my guests. We were comped for most the parking and we had our dinner comped as well. Our room was moved, but if anything that caused me more stress having to quickly repack my things, unpack in a new room, and then repack the next morning. We came to the kimpton EPIC hoping to have some of the weight and stress taken off our shoulders, but I wish we had gone straight to our family's residence because all I did was pay for problems and stress staying here. I would be mortified if this were my hotel. And these pictures were after the second time it was "cleaned", so it actually looked worse than this upon arrival. Read less
