Kimpton EPIC Hotel

Miami, Florida

The hotel

This hotel is Epic by name but is it epic by nature? You bet it is! Described as an ‘extravagant base camp’, it’s counted as one of the best 500 hotels in the world (2015) and we can see why. You have the option of arriving by yacht at the hotel’s very own private marina, spending the rest of the day deep-sea fishing or soaking up the sun. Fancy a swim? You’ve two pools to choose from, one that occupies a sixteenth-floor pool terrace and comes complete with great views and private cabanas for hire. There’s also a state-of-the-art fitness centre and Exhale Spa for massage, facials, scrubs and more. Like the swimming pool, Area 31 is perched on the sixteenth floor to bring you waterfront dining at its finest. Given the hotel’s proximity to the ocean, fresh seafood is a speciality, accompanied by a delicious glass or two of wine. For modern Japanese cuisine, Zuma is ideal or listen to everything from Classic Jazz to the Bossa Nova at the lively Lilt Lounge.

This is to be expected in Miami tho so overall great experience. The location is great walking distance to many things and lots of entertainment. I recommend just staying in the hotel and enjoying all they have to offer it was great cant wait to return. Read less

We booked, reconfirmed, and reconfirmed at the desk for an accessible room (my broken leg) but the first room we were assigned was not an accessible room. Back to the desk and they promptly put us in an accessible room. Both rooms we saw were fairly spacious (good, as we booked a very good rate on one of the discount sites, and thought we might get a broom closet... thankfully we didn't). the two pools pictured are on the 16th floor--both are shallow (3-5 ft). We were told that there are two because one was warmer than the other; we noticed no difference. The chair assist to help disabled people in/out of the pool was not working. Pool area itself is big and clean. From the elevator system, it seems like the hotel is no higher floors and lower floors might be residences. Not sure. On the upside, we were allowed to check in early at no extra charge. We got there midmorning after leaving our cruise ship. Read less

Room 2832 was very spacious. The bed was very comfortable. i enjoyed the Chocolate Chip Pancakes and the bacon. My father enjoyed the Blueberry Pancakes. This shower was terrific. The check-in staff was friendly. The only negative thing was that the waiter didn't put maple syrup out when my father and I's pancakes came. And we had to wait 5-10… Read more

I totally loved the Epic Hotel in Miami. The location, the staff, the views, the rooftop pools, the cleanliness, and overall pricing. The American Airline Arena is walking distance and so is Bayside with all its attractions, things to do and places to eat. I highly recommend this hotel!
