The only thing that separates the hotel from the beach is the parking space for guests. I rarely review my hotel experiences. However, I promised myself that whatever happens after my stay at the Broadmoor, I'll make sure to write an VERY honest review, which will hopefully help someone like the reviews I read helped me. My family of 4--myself, husband, a very active 8-year-old and a baby traveled to Miami for Spring Break. The only thing on my checklist was to find a decent place we can wake up every morning to an ocean breeze and an ocean view to make sure that the beach is in walking distant. After driving from MD to FL, we did not want to be in a car any longer than we have to. I read so many reviews about the Broadmoor and ended up with mixed feelings. I decided to shorten our stay from 5 days to 3 days in case we don't like it. To be honest, I was skeptical as we pulled up to the parking area in front of the hotel. It looked old and run down. Then we went in to the reception for check-in and was amazed by the cleanliness of the place although the smell could've been better. We went up to our room and were pleased to find two separate sleeping areas just as I requested: a room with a king bed with its own refrigerator, closet space, window facing the ocean and TV adjacent to another room with 2 full beds with the same amenities. The space was just what we needed to breathe and take a break from each other after a long drive. This place offered us just what we needed: comfortable beds to sleep in to wake up to beautiful view and access to a beach that we can spend our whole day at. We wanted to soak in the sun, eat local, and experience Miami without breaking the bank. Also, There's an $18/daily charge for the 2 beach chairs and towels for the beach. Pros: -Although microwaves aren't available in the room, they are available downstairs along with vending and washing machines. Unfortunately, I just discovered this our last night here, which would've saved us a ton of money because from wasted food. -They offer courtesy coffee, which starts at 8am. I start my day at sunrise and would've truly valued a cup of joe when I wake up at 5:30am. Cons: - Breakfast is NOT included. Trip Advisor states breakfast is included. I was disappointed to find out since I factored this into my calculation. I'm a big breakfast person and would've helped to know ahead of time that breakfast isn't included. - You have to pay for parking, which is $1/hr but free from 6pm-8am. Most of the hotels, including the big chains also charge parking. -The restaurant attached to the hotel is a separate entity and only serves street tacos--we spent over $30 our first night on something we couldn't eat because it was too salty and frankly not our taste. However, the hotel is located on a busy street near a lot of other restaurants serving Cuban, American, Brazilian, etc. cuisines. -Your room will not get cleaned until you ask for it to be clean. Our overall experience is pleasingly surprised. My family is happy, so I'm happy as well.I'm so glad we didn't have to break the bank to stay at a place where we will only use to sleep and change in. My husband who rarely sleeps longer than 2-hour stretches slept through the night. I wish the same magic happened to my baby as well! :) If you're skeptical, give this place a try! Read less

Be sure to also check out Roni's restaurant down the street for excellent Mediterranean breakfast/lunch/dinner. We had a wonderful stay here. Very friendly staff made this stay a real treat. Will return. Thanks Derek, Emma & Ray. Read less

The Broadmoor is exactly as expected. A renovated hotel from the past The rooms are nice and the hotel is a polished relic. The crew is fantastic. Derrick and Stanley were always more than helpful.
