Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club

Miami Beach, Miami

Virgin rating

The hotel

There’s a certain seaside feel at the revamped Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club – and it doesn’t just come from its location, virtually anchored to the sands and boardwalk of Miami Beach. Its guestrooms are decked out in cool whites, greys, and navy blues for a refreshing coastal feel; while the finishing touches have a hint of the Art Deco heritage this ocean-skirting oasis is famous for. The latest hotel to make it into Marriott’s Autograph Collection, when you return hungry from the beach, or a dip in its two pools, or shopping in the nearby Design District, the Cadillac’s new restaurant welcomes you back with crispy rustic pizzas straight from its wood-fired oven, while the mixologist at its oceanfront bar shakes you their signature cocktails.

That did not happen due to construction view and noise directly outside our room. The noise of trucks started at 630am and the jackhammers started at 8am. I know it is not the fault of the hotel that construction is next door, but it is also not the fault of the guest. Charging such a premium for these rooms is outrageous. We could not get moved to another room. When I asked at check out for compensation, they offered to take off resort fees, which was less than $100 for our stay. I asked for some Marriott points, which they agreed to give me, but then I had to check with them several times after leaving for the points to be added. Parts of this resort are nice. The complementary bikes were great. The staff is very nice. But the construction view and noise we experienced in our room and on the beach was not relaxing or luxurious. And to add to the ambience, the hotel is directly under the flight path for Miami International Airport, so during our first beach day there was continuous jets flying over head to land at Miami. We arrived early to have lunch and spend the day at the beach and pool and at our 4:00 check in time, standing in our sandy wet bathing suits our room still wasn't ready. 45 minutes later without any apology we were able to get into our room. The room was just ok and felt it need a refresh. After dinner we arrived back at the hotel and wanted to find a place to sit outside for an after dinner drink. I told the woman who sat us that's all we wanted, she smile and sat us, moments later as we're getting ready to order drinks she comes over to say we needed to leave because they wouldn't serve us only drinks. With plenty of tables around I had to wonder why they didn't want us here. (shaking my head) Upon checkout I asked about a charge for a beach chair and umbrella, I was told it didn't come with the room but it did when we arrived. Not sure why the Valet took 10 minutes to bring us our car at 8:00 am but they brought us the wrong car. I give this place a C-. Read less

The view straight out our doors was 100% filled with a wall. The windows from that building that faced our room and balcony were the elevator hallways, so we couldn’t even keep our sheers open without being on full display. Lying in bed, we could see nothing but a concrete wall. I cried over it a few times. So incredibly disappointing and misleading!!! We had to step out onto the balcony and look sideways to catch the “view.” They should be ashamed of themselves for advertising it as “Ocean View.” The gorgeous pool in all of the photos is the kiddie pool. The adults-only pool is a fraction of the size and hidden around the corner. Having said that… the property is lovely. The staff was great. Breakfast was delicious. But I doubt I would ever return. Image of the Tripadvisor rating Great stay in Miami to relax in the pool and beach.

Had a great time at the pool and the beach. The pool restaurant offered great options, I had a Cuban sandwich and it was delicious. The room was spacious and the bathroom was great. Loved the L'occitane products there. The front desk Santiago was great, excellent customer service and smile.

Have just stayed at the Cadillac Hotel and Beach Club for 7 nights. Overall it was a nice stay and no real complaints. The staff were attentive, room clean and daily service. Lobby was welcoming, beach great and good location. However I can understand the majority of the negative reviews on here, but they weren’t too much of an issue for us. We had a large room with two double beds which wasn’t needed but ensured we had a big room. We were however a very restricted “ocean view” (we did book ocean view) being on the 4th floor and corner of the building. This corner faced the Confidante hotel which is currently being renovated. So yes there was construction noise from 6am until late hours of the night. We are both good sleepers so didn’t interrupt us much but can see how it would! Food and drinks are expensive and a 20% mandatory service charge means even a round of two drinks is around $30 but a lot of other places are similar too. The infamous yellow towels did appear during the later days of our stay when picking up from the pool or beach which is slightly off putting! The Cabana adults pool is nice but there are only around 20 “unreserved” sun beds so can imagine at busier times of the year this can be an issue. As above, overall we were happy with our stay but if you are expecting 5 star luxury then perhaps not for you. Read less
