Metropolitan by COMO

Miami Beach, Miami

The hotel

With just 74 rooms, this latest offering from the COMO group (of the Metropolitan by COMO London) is able to deliver truly personal, highly celebrated levels of service. You will be very well looked after here, especially if you take a break from South Beach’s nightlife and retail therapy to recharge your batteries at the COMO Shamabala Urban Spa. Indulge in a treatment or simply revel in the Atlantic Ocean views from the rooftop hydrotherapy pool. This is the perfect end to a day spent hitting the boutiques and shops of Lincoln Road, just ten minutes walk away. As the sun sets enjoy famous Floridian seafood dishes at the Metropolitan’s Traymore restaurant with al fresco beachfront dining available. We recommend breakfast here too as the pastry chef is superb! The building is one of Miami’s protected art deco gems, with original features galore. The hotel sits on a long stretch of golden sandy beach, separated from the sand by just the wooden boardwalk that runs along this stretch of South Beach, connecting you to many restaurants and bars the area has to offer.

Our room was at the budget end of the spectrum, but it was perfect for our needs. We were never in it during the day. In room USB chargers, Bluetooth music player and free WiFi. The TV was there, but never used. The hotel is so nice and staff are so polite.

My experience at the COMO Metropolitan was absolutely delightful. I literally felt like a queen during my entire stay here. We got to our hotel at 7:30 am due to a very early flight, we weren’t set to check in until 4pm. However, once we got there they had a room available and let us check in early. Sergio, took us to our room and was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the hotel. He showed us where everything was in our room and answered any questions we had. We were provided with rooms and slippers in our rooms, pretty nice if you ask me. :) Every night they provided turn down service, with a bottle of Italian water on our night stand. The housekeeping staff were great. The pool and beach were wonderful as well. Juan the pool boy was awesome. He kept checking and refilling my water while constantly putting the umbrella up and down when it would start raining. The staff at the pool bar were excellent as well. The drinks were amazing and they definitely didn’t skimp on the alcohol. :) The staff at the front were so kind and accommodating. I had forgotten my travel documents for my cruise, therefore they went ahead and printed them off for me with no hesitation. On our last day, we weren’t supposed to get to our port for our cruise until 1:30, therefore they gave us a late check out to accommodate us. Wow, what a beautiful and spectacular experience we had at the COMO. I am already planning my next trip back here. If you’re wanting a beautiful and amazing experience, with 5 star service then this is the place for you. From the rooms to the pool to the beach, everything was spectacular. Read less

We stayed here for 3 nights after a cruise. The hotel has a great location right on South Beach on Collins Av at 24th Street. It's a small art deco building (8 floors). We arrived early and were greeted by the concierge who came put to welcome us. It was about 10:30am so we were thinking we'd probably have to just drop off the bags. Thankfully they had a room available and allowed us to check in, which was great as we were very tired after the cruise. The lobby is airy and there's a bar /restaurant behind it which leads out to the pool area. There is a path straight to the beach. There's a rooftop pool and terrace with a sauna and a gym. The room was very modern and bright with bathrobes, slippers and a big walk in shower. We didn't eat in the hotel but did have a drink. Prices were similar to other places around South Beach. The concierge (his name escapes me) was very helpful with recommdations. We had breakfast at Orange Blossom, watched the sunset at The 1 Hotel next door from their roof bar, had a beer at the Abbey and visited Wynwood (you have to go here, great food, street art, craft brewaries, etc). Some FYI'S - like many places in Miami they charge a daily 'resort fee' for wifi and towels. Also the property next door (The Riviera) is under major reconstruction so it can be noisy with the demolition of concrete balconies, etc. That didn't bother us though. We paid for a late check-out (7pm). We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. The hotel's greatest asset is its staff, everyone greets you with a friendly hello. All in all we loved our stay. Read less

It used to be my favourite hotel. I love the entrance and the original floor, tha cozy aatmosphere of one of the few sobe hotel, the rare presence of tourists etx but the management has changed completely. What I discover this time was a “cocoon” hotel, perfect for old people, with rooms that dis not undertake the necessary maintenance and as so results in noisy and non functioning rooms as they used to be. The swmming pool, once upon a time, a quiet and relaxing place, has turned into a caothic place without rules and where people can play their own music speaker louder and louder. Breakfast too has been disappointing: no benedicts eggs, no smoked salmon, not an open bar where to choose from. I think the original value for money has been destroyed. But one thing has improved: the Traymore restaurant, now open but not accessible on tripadvisor for reviewing. Read less
