The Raleigh

Miami Beach, Miami

The hotel

Regarded as one of the ‘grand dames’ of the art deco style, The Raleigh is a true work of art. Chic and glamorous, it is also warm and inviting, paying homage to a golden age whilst offering bang up-to-date amenities. In a prime location, enjoy sweeping views of the ocean and the city itself from the comfort of your ultra luxurious guestroom. The poolside, perhaps one of the finest in Miami, is just steps away as is the beach, privately accessed and nothing short of glorious. In-between the beach and the hotel is The Oasis — a carefully crafted, intimate space, tranquil by day, hip and happening at night — the perfect Miami hangout in fact! The Restaurant at The Raleigh is another wonderful place to while away the evening, feasting on thoughtfully sourced modern American fare. Ranked among the top ten hotel bars worldwide, the Martini Bar is ideal for sundowners - order an exotic cocktail or a glass of fine wine and rub shoulders with the city’s glitterati!

Stumbled upon the Raleigh garden on an evening walk. It’s a serene and beautiful garden in South beach. An oasis from the crowds outside. Entrance is free. A lot of interesting sculptures (see pictures). I highly recommend.

If you have the opportunity to wander through this amazing sculpture garden (it takes less than 10 minutes), do so. It’s tranquil and relaxing and you won’t be disappointed. It’s open most days to 9 pm and said to be magical after dark.

Al Capone built the Raleigh in 1939. Sold it a year later and it has remained as one of the great Art Deco resorts in the US. Famous Hollywood move stars stayed their in the forties and the hotel rented rooms to WW11 veterans at discounts. The most beautiful swimming pool in the US. Life magazine featured the pool on their front cover.

Amazing ambiance! We spent most of our day at pool with good drinks listening to Dj play chill electric music. Their little hidden bar is such a cool place to drink and hangout. Service was great. Looking forward to come back.

I should have reviewed this place sooner. Apparently they are doing renovations, but my stay there was excellent. My only concern is if they change their outdoor dining. It was really romantic to have lighting, orchids food and drink. We enjoyed our stay there. Hopefully I can book a new vacation and check out the updates they are making. But it… Read more
