My review of this hotel is tainted by the fact that I got very little sleep last night. They have their air conditioning system restricted- so it only goes as low as 68 and you cannot change the mode to auto or even leave it on. When you click "mode" it states that the A/C is restricted and cannot be modified. This means, unless you enjoy a hot stuffy room, that you have to keep getting up all night to turn the AC back on. After it cools the room to 68 it shuts off completely. I'm sure this is helping the hotel's bottom line, but I will never stay here again because of it. Having said that...there are a lot of other nice things about the property. Check in was pleasant and quick. I was given 2 drink vouchers and a huge bottle of water for being a Titanium member. Burger at the bar was good. The rooms are not huge, but I thought very nice. I like the wood floors and walk in shower. They also have mini-kitchens with a full sized fridge, dishwasher, dishes, and a microwave. If it weren't for the horrible A/C experience I'd give this hotel 5 stars. What a shame. Read less

The value for the location and other hotels in the neighbourhood is great. I had issues with the destination fee, which I assume is levied by the county. The daily parking fee is way too high. Also thought the hotel room could have been a bit cleaner. Although we did not have the issues over reviewers have mentioned, we still had to ask to clean… Read more

The front desk staff is nice, but the room is dirty. There’s dried blood on the drapes, handprints on the headboard and I can tell the floor hasn’t been cleaned in a while. I even found 2 balled up receipts from previous guest on it. Oh, and how can I forget, makeup on the pillowcases and black long hair on the bed. Disgusted.

I am staying at this awful hotel right now! I am a Marriott Rewards Platinum Elite Member. Booked this hotel for 4 days. 3 days were paid for by Marriott Reward points. I Only was supposed to be charged for one night stay, taxes and destination fee of 22.00 per day. Long story short my card was charged over 600.00 for one day. I am being bounced around from person to person to try and get this corrected. The check in process was horrible it was late and the floor was being stripped. It was water all over and equipment around. No one offered to help with our bags and we had to carry luggage around all of this equipment, cords and water in the lobby. The room we had to request clean bedding for the pullout couch because the bedding that was in the room was dirty. The pool is horrible. Filthy we even complained to some of the workers about the pool needing to be cleaned. We were told someone was coming. No one came to look at it the 2 hrs we sat outside. The location is good. Nice beach across the street. But because of the lack of customer service I would not recommend this hotel. Reading past reviews I see that over charging seems to be a common thing at this hotel. Love the Marriott brand and have never had a bad experience until now. Customer Service is Terrible!!!! Read less

The breakfast was really good and allowed you to fill up for a day of exploring Miami. Surfside is a nice quiet town with a few bars and restaurants ( we recommend Flanagans) but close enough to the action in Miami if you need it. It's also a 5 min walk to the nice and quiet beach. Overall I thought the hotel was well located, clean and good value for money. The only downsides were the resort fee and the car parking charge. Whilst both were discounted to $10 and $19 per day respectively ( ask for these discounts when you check in) it's a pity there was any parking charge at all for residents. Recommended and would definitely return. Oh lastly, Liz waiting on the tables at breakfast was brilliant, quality customer service with a genuine smile who never failed to make my family laugh!
