Image of the Tripadvisor rating Great place to be close to South Beach but old and dated

Oh, goodness, where to start. It is old, feels like it would be difficult to get it really clean. The beds were very uncomfortable and had flat pillows. Curtains would not close to keep the light out. No blow dryer! That is just almost standard equipment in any hotel these days, isn’t it? Oh, goodness, where to start. It is old, feels like it would be difficult to get it really clean. The beds were very uncomfortable and had flat pillows. Curtains would not close to keep the light out. No blow dryer! That is just almost standard equipment in any hotel these days, isn’t it? Marijuana odor has permeated the halls and elevator. We were told we would have a water view but there was none. We were too tired to go down and complain about it. If you are going here to be near the action, party it up all night and get no sleep, this is a great place for you. I was told when I made the reservation (at a good rate because I booked in February) valet parking was suspended but there was a parking garage a couple blocks away for $20. I called ahead of time and they said it was still suspended and $20 for parking garage. We were about two miles away and called and were told there was a loading zone in front and we could park and drop our things. When we got there ALL THREE loading zones were full and we parked in the cab spot and were told when we went in we had to get out right away or get a ticket. We didn’t see any people in the lobby checking in that might belong to those three cars and, as a matter of fact one of the cars stayed parked there at least 6 hours and the hotel didn’t tag it or call police. Staff tagged our bags and we headed where we were told the parking was. When we got there they said it was only day parking and no overnight. We circled blocks and found two other parking garages, both full, before we finally found one 4 blocks away that was $25 for 12 hours on Fri, Sat, Sun so be prepared to pay $50 to park overnight. Walls are very thin and unfortunately we had the drunk group next to us screaming, fighting and slamming doors. We were woken out of a dead sleep more than once, called down twice and were told someone had already come up and talked to them. It didn’t stop them. They would quiet for a bit then escalate into another round of fighting and slamming doors. I don’t know at what point the hotel should be obligated to call police and eject people but I think one visit to the room is fair and then the6 should be gone (and I’m sure we weren’t the only ones calling because these people were out in the hall screaming several times) We did get a great recommendation for dinner and the man at the front desk was doing his best to be helpful when I griped about parking at check in. They all seemed a bit lost about what to do for our terrible night of no sleep and we were offered nothing. I just couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Read less

I wanted coffee at 6am and security walked me accross the road to show me where to get coffee and made sure I was safe - excellent service - thank you. We did not eat in the Hotel as we had so many options to choose from. The lobby is quirky and there is a nice oasis to sit and enjoy a drink outside. Our visit was short but we will definitely stay here again if we are travelling through MIami. Read less

First, the stars are for MAXIMO, who was really nice and helpful to us! He works at the front desk. Our reservation was mixed up and he didn’t give us any hassle with it at all. He’s the best! The hotel itself isn’t anything too crazy, but is great for the price and location. The rooms are clean and they offer free towels for the beach and their own pool (no hot tub though). There is a paid continental breakfast in the morning, but they offer coffee and infused water throughout the day for free. The hotel also has its own bar which has a happy hour and seems to have a good vibe. The lobby of the hotel is also really great - very well decorated and nice to relax in. It’s hard to beat this place in South Beach, especially at the price. Read less

I just got back from such a nice stay at the Albion Hotel and was thinking about the great staff including Jack at the front desk and Tony the bartender. As an older hotel and could use a little touch-up paint here and there but that also adds to the charm. Thanks for the memories and I hope to visit again! Read less
