The hotel

This hotel has a famous past, with celebrated entertainers such as Sammy Davis Jnr, Jimi Hendrix and Tina Turner often performing here. Things are still very lively now, but focusing much more on family-friendly pursuits than rock ‘n roll. With a fantastic oceanfront setting and many rooms having sweeping views of the sea, this is a very appealing option for those looking to be close to the centre of Miami but offering better value for money. I had the most horrible experience, I wanted to spend a family weekend vacation on the beach to celebrate my daughters 13 birthday. Upon arriving at the hotel the valet attendant did not speak English. I told me due to Corona Virus COVID 19 , no more valet parking was allowed and that I needed to self park across the street and then check in. When I drove my car to self park the valet attendant did not provide the code for the gate. So I parked on the public street to check-in and in order to get the code and parking slip to display on my car dashboard. In less then 15 minutes, after checking in I found out that my car was towed by Dolphin Towing company. I had to pay $130 for the towing in addition to $15 for Tropical Taxi. When I bought this to the attention to the General Manager Mr. Sam Albrecht he was very dismissive and rude. He refused to acknowledge the issue and told me it was my own problem. I still continued to try to enjoy by daughters birthday and proceed to the beach. I found everyone was vaping, smoking weed and broken beer glasses were found everywhere from the party the night before. If you loved very loud Hispanic music, then this place for you . The room was out dated and muggy, due to humidity the bed sheets were damp all night. The hotel telephone did not work and there was no stopper provided in the jacuzzi bath tub. I have to admit this was the worse hotel experience I have had ever, unless you were staying at a truck stop off highway I95. I would not recommend staying here to my worse enemy. Read less

They put me in a room with sick on the floor, disgusting and objected when I complained, absolutely disgusting place with staff to match! Then they insisted I had two daughters instead of two sons, unbelievable!

We stayed in a room on the 10th floor and the windowsills are caked in dust and dirt; there were German roaches in our room, the stairwells are always wet causing the paint on the stairs to form bubbles and are peeling, the walls are covered in mildew and mold. The bar by the pool does not remotely provide the better tasting drinks, frozen drinks are melting and changing colors. Management was lackluster, rudely offering to change into another room without even offering to clean up the mess or even provide high class social skills which should be present when giving those prices per run-down room.
