Washington Park Hotel

Miami, Florida

The hotel

The Washington Park is a collection of four landmarked Art Deco hotels that have been reimagined and respectfully updated to bring you the best in boutique accommodation. Achingly hip it might be but it’s also very relaxed with a very social atmosphere and service that is second to none. The pool is the main hub of activity with people gathering to drink cocktails and soak up the sun as well as the vibe. As for the restaurant, don’t worry it’s not really for ‘Employees Only’ as its name suggests, it’s actually an offshoot from NYC’s beloved speakeasy restaurant and this is its first foray outside Manhattan. Again the atmosphere is relaxed but the food is of gourmet standard, making it an essential part of your experience at the Washington. Before you head off for the evening, enjoy a drink at the Swizzle Tropical Cocktail Bar; the atmosphere is so enticing you might end up staying!

Although the reception staff were nice the hotel itself is awful. We stayed in TAFT one of their three buildings. All furnishings were tired and the shower went cold randomly. We asked for two extra pillows and a day later after second request got two used pillows that smelt of BO. So no I would not recommend this hotel. It was more like a cheap hostel worth about $50 a night and not $200. Opposite the 11th St Dinner Read less

My daughter and I went to Miami for a long girls weekend. Our check-in went quick and smoothly so that was great. Heading to our room in the main building I noticed the hall carpet was very dirty, as were the doors and walls. Our room was small but we made it work, the closet had ample storage. We also appreciated the bottled water in the refrigerator. The bathroom and bedding were clean but the floor was dirty and the side tables were dusty. I brought cleaning wipes with and wiped down the tables and headboard. This is an old hotel but some fresh paint, clean carpets and floors would really help. They also don't provide washcloths unless you ask for them. We did enjoy the pool area one morning. The best part is the location and beach chairs on Miami Beach that are included with the resort fee. The beach is very close and we spent most of our time there. Also lots of great restaurants near by. Check out was much longer as several guests were arriving/leaving and many were unhappy. The front desk could definitely use some process improvement. I've never seen a hotel front desk in such chaos. I also witnessed who I assume is one of the managers yelling at the employees. I wouldn't stay here again. Read less

Customer service is terrible. I already prepaid my room when I booked it online, upon arrival the front desk charged me again and claimed I never paid for the room. I kept arguing but nothing changed. And the front desk already charged my credit card at 10am before I even get the room (check in at 4pm). The whole thing is ridiculous. Front desk… Read more

Front desk phone line is already busy, luggage service takes forever to come to the rook waited almost 20mins. Don’t request any service because they will never come. Room is okay, the bed and couch is too soft made my back hurts after sleeping. The hotel shouldn’t be rated as a 4 stars hotel, I would give it like a 3.5 stars. The only good part is the location, easy access to beach, bars, and shops etc. Read less
