Only plus of this Hotel, is walking distance to Universal, but they still charge $24.50 to Park, crazy. Center Elevator never worked. Wi Fi is a joke, constantly drops and bad connections. Electronic key is terrible, get a hard key card, to avoid hassle. American Bar & Grill, expensive and check always includes Gratuity, so re-check. They need… Read more

They need to promote morning Coffee service, instead of paying $3-6 for Starbucks. Fire pit is great. Walking distance to TGI Fridays. Need to expand restaurant seating , very limited. Paul , our Server, was adequate. Appetizers came out cold. Clam chowder was great. Read less

I was disappointed in the transparency related to my rate. I booked with the 'Another Day in Paradise' special that was stay XX amount of nights, get XX amount of nights free. I was disappointed in the transparency related to my rate. I booked with the 'Another Day in Paradise' special that was stay XX amount of nights, get XX amount of nights free. When I checked my stay details on the app, it showed I was being charged for every night of my stay. I waited until check-in and inquired at the desk. The clerk went to speak to the manager and said that the discount was spread over each night, that normally the rate is much higher than the $96 some dollars I was being charged for each night. It was off-season so I'm not sure I believe that but didn't argue. However, in looking after the fact, no where in the fine print of this special does it say this. I am now kinda turned off of Hilton Hotels in general. As for the hotel itself, I chose my room (1421) using the app and smelled mildew immediately upon opening the door. It was late so I figured we could deal with it. We left early the next morning to go to the universal parks, came back when they closed, and showered. The smell was just as bad and I decided to call and ask for a new room. The front desk said they would send housekeeping up to check on the problem. Housekeeping showed up with air freshener. I explained that this is not what I was asking for. The woman from housekeeping (I wish I had caught her name) was then wonderful about quickly finding us a new room on the same floor. Room 1416 was odor free and nicer and our stay was fine after that. I have read other reviews that mention mildew smell. Perhaps the desk avoids assigning those rooms but they should also block them out on the app, or offer to free upgrade at check-in for those that have chosen those rooms on the app, particularly during non-peak times. Since our trip was mainly about the parks, we didn't use many amenities. The pool and hot tub were nice and well-maintained. Using the shuttles to and from the parks was easy but probably won't stay here on our next trip to Universal. Read less

The Hotel is OK, but when I went to the Fitness Area right near the front desk - the internet (WiFi) doesn't work. I walked out to the front desk and they informed me I was correct - the WIFI reception in the Fitness Area is horrible. The "Conference" WIFI is strong in the Fitness area, but they could not give me the password for it because I… Read more

The amenities are great...firepit, Starbucks, shops, etc. The staff is both competent and friendly. The problem is that if this property was renovated recently, they apparently forgot to do anything to the rooms. While the mattresses are adequate, both the sheets on the beds and the towels in the bathroom had the consistency of sandpaper. Also,… Read more

The problem is that if this property was renovated recently, they apparently forgot to do anything to the rooms. While the mattresses are adequate, both the sheets on the beds and the towels in the bathroom had the consistency of sandpaper. Also, the pillows were WAY too soft, with no support whatsoever. I know it's close to Universal, and again the staff and amenities are great, but when the rooms themselves make the Hampton Inn feel like a Conrad, it's no longer a 4 star property. Read less

Last minute trip. Close to Universal. But for the price- room should have been spotless. Bathroom looked like it hadn't been swept in days, trash under the sink, only saw it because I dropped tissue and went to grab it.
